I sing opera - I have to be able to open my mouth, like, a disgusting amount to be able to put the right power, support and air behind my sound.
I have to kind of unhinge my jaw. Put two fingers right in front of your ear, on your jaw joint/hinge and open your mouth really wide. Feel that movement? Yeah.
Every time I go to open my mouth like that, my jaw cracks really loudly. Sometimes it hurts, sometimes it doesn't. It kinda scares me...
Anyone have any ideas as to what this is and/or how to fix it? It's getting in the way of my warm ups...

It's never anything really loud, and it never really hurts, but my doctor told me its nothing bad, that it happens to a lotta people. If you consider it a problem and it does hurt, maybe you should ask a doctor. I think there MIGHT be a way to fix it, but i'm not sure...I'm pretty sure my doctor mentioned something.
so the best thing to do would be to see a doctor and ask about it.
