sick of crying after the fight

Question Posted Thursday July 8 2004, 12:11 am

my dad...he yells an awful lot when i get in trouble, really really loud. it usually takes me a lot to cry, but i do almost every time after we have a fight. he thinks everything is about a level of respect. he makes me feel really bad and depressed sometimes when he yells and cusses. its not really the content, just the way he does it, and makes me feel sick of this house. i need a way to cope, because i usually cant listen to music or call a friend afterwards, and im confined to my room. i cant stop crying for a long time a lot, and he doesnt seem to care when i cry. i cant stand up to him because hes scary when hes mad (he NEVER hits me but the way he yells) and i just cant concentrate. please respond asap

do you have a journal or something you can rwrite in? cause that could really help when your confined in your room... you need to talk to your dad about that and your feelings.. hes your dad im sure he will understand... its normal t cry over that.... i cry when my dad yells at me too.... all of the time.. well he used to until i talked to him. then he stopped and cut back on it a lil bit..
