Some Cross Country Questions...

Question Posted Saturday July 3 2004, 11:30 pm

Hey there! This is Cammie...and I just want to start out saying how amazing your advice was that you gave to the suicidal person. I mean, you even made me realize how I should live my life up more! I thought what you said was awesome, deep, and you gave it a ton of effort. But aside that, I saw you did cross country, acting, and stuff. I like most of that stuff too. But, my question is just about cross country. :) How fast can you run 2 miles? How fast can you run 3 miles? What's the longest you've ever ran? (And if you know that time), AND do you have any cross country "secrets" and little things like that? I know it's a lot of questions...but I thought you'd give great advice. I've run cross country for 2 years, and I guess I'm just wondering what other cross country runners do to say...prep before a race, spiked shoes or regular...you know. Thanks!

Sincerely, Cammie

hey cammie! thanks for telling me i did good with advice..i just like to help ppl. :) and yes i do to cross country, i love it. well my best time for 2 miles is about 12 minutes. i usually do 6 min per mile. the furthest i have ever ran was 8 miles(sorry idk the time), which isnt too far i guess but i try and run a 3-mile course twice a week or whenever i can. some secrets i have is to listen to music well i run, to definetly wear comfortable clothes and running shoes. i always want to keep going even if it is a really hot day. dont think, dont stop, just run. thats our schools motto thing. ive run xc for 2 years too, and 1 year of track. i really dont like running with ppl, it can be safer, but i always want to keep my concentration. one problem i have is that at the beginning of races i sprint and then slow down. altho it helps me get to the top, more ppl can pass me. always keep a pace u feel good with and try to keep that the whole time, of course at the end you want to speed up and pass ppl. before a race i like to listen to music, stretch and i do noott eat or drink. that can give you cramps. if i hav a cramp tho i kind of massage that part while i am running or lift the arm (on the side of my body that has the cramp) over my head. so that is about it. thats cool that u have been doing it, too. what is your best time and whats the furthest u have ran? do you have any tips either? thanks :) if u ever wanna IM me my sn is
