Dyeing hair

Question Posted Tuesday June 22 2004, 7:03 pm

I have this friend with really dark hair on her arms and I think it bothers her. Well we got in this fight about how like she thinks I am bossy and I think she is slutty. Well even though we aren't friends anymore I still know her, she goes to my school and is in some of my classes in 9th grade. I ant to help her with her arms because I think she feels really insicure (or however you spell it. I know she doesn't want to wax it and I think shaving arms is dumb,so is there anyway she can dye or bleach her arm hair blonde-PERMANENTELY!!!! For like ever so she will feel better I hope. I still think she is slutty but I care. Please help my friend ASAP! B/cuz theres a rumor that she is moving to Colorado and I live in Nevada. Please hurry and help b4 she moves!!!! Thanks an much love!

Sincerely,
Lilly

Are you sure she's insecure about this or are you just guessing? There are things you can do but none are really all that permanent. I've done this stuff before- NEVER SHAVE YOUR ARMS. It makes the hair course and you can tell the difference. Bleaching will look weird and electrolosis is expensive. So chances are that she'll get over it and realize there are more important things besides arm hair (I know I did). And if she hasn't come to you for advice, don't go to her, because if she's not insecure you'll be pointing it out and then guess what? Not only will she know that you think she's a slut, she'll also know that you think she's hairy. So don't do it unless she asks you about it. And stop calling your friends names. It's not helpful anyway.

Well, that's awesome that you still care even though y'all aren't as great of friends. *Shaving your arms is dumb b/c then it feels weird!*If your friend DID want to wax..it's not that bad; she could do that.*I highly would suggest NOT to bleach her arm hair cause it looks REALLY weird on darker haired people.*Less painful than waxing is NADS ((you can get it now at local drugstores like Walgreens))*Other possible solutions: Electrolisis ((you have to do it kinda a lot though, but by the time she is a lil' older she won't have barely any)) Or, if she has a lot of money or her parents want to fight the insurance why they should pay she could get it removed with a laser.. I hope one of these choices helps! :)

If she squeezes lemon juice on the hairs, that would probably naturaly lighten them. It might not last forever, but it would last for a while.
