On sunday and monday of this week, our confirmation class from church went on a trip.
My friend Aaron went, and let me tell you a little about him- he's not a Christian at all.
You can tell that his parents made him get confirmed. He curses a lot, he's really bad and just doesn't believe anything our pastors have to say. He won't listen. On the trip, he was caught smoking a bunch of times. I told him that I was worried, and he said, "I guess I could try to quit." The key words are guess, and try. He probably won't actually do it. I'm really worried about Aaron.... his parents aren't great, and he needs some support, but once confirmation class is over, he'll probably never come back to church. How can I help him, and what can I do?
But whether he realizes it or not, your support really means a lot to him..
Perhaps religion is forced on him, which may be a cause for rebellion...
I mean, I'm atheist myself, though most Romanians are strongly religious (orthodox)...and if I were in his shoes, I might smoke as well.
Make sure he knows that you're always there to support him, and BE there to support him...
