How to tell if someone is pretending to be offline ?

Question Posted Monday May 24 2004, 9:02 am

For those who use MSN messenger , you will see a little option , which is "appear offline" . This means that even though you are actually using the internet , you just want to seem offline . I want to know if a certain someone is avoiding me , so do you know if threre is a certain method to check this ?
I was chatting with this *someone* , when he suddenly went offline . I noticed that when i sent another message to him , instead of the usual "message might not be received as recepiant appears to be offline" notice in red , nothing happened . I could send my message without any difficulty .
It's really important to me to find out if this *Someone* is trying to avoid me , so please answer quickly .... thanks =)

I was wondering the same thing, but no...it's a hard to tell. And if he's appearing offline, everyone on his contact list will be affected; only blocking will affect only one person.
However, you may want to confront him in person, and ask him about it. Hard to do, but worth it..
