how should it be done?

Question Posted Monday March 1 2004, 3:26 am

Hey, I have a mega huge problem, im18 yrs old and im currently dating a girl that im really not interested in any longer, shes not what i thought she was. She always makes depressing suicidal comments and i dont think shes serious but you never know if shes doing for attention or if shes serious. my question is what is the best way to break up with someone to their benifit?

You can't really break up with someone 'to their benefit' because no matter what - they are losing you. The most important thing is to be honest. Don't feed her lies or half-truths, she'll respect your decisions later if she knows that you at least were good enough to be straight with her.

Of course she will be hurt but at least if you do things in an honest gentle way, she will be better off.
