dividing property between kids after funeral

Question Posted Sunday February 8 2004, 5:26 pm

My father-in-law passed away this week and he had awoodworking shop full of tools. My mother-in-law wants everyone to put their name on what tools they want, but everyone is to afraid to step on someone else's toes. There are 3 sons and 2 son-in-laws.What would be a fair way to distribute the tools?
