I think this is a response to someone's answer to a previous question... it's being broadcast to everybody though.
You might try posing it directly to the person who's not understanding (then again, it's likely none of us do)... or even seeing if they have a website or e-mail which you can use to start a conversation/correspondence. Many columnists make their e-mail available, the worst that might happen is you'll be considered spam.
