organic foods... what gives? What's the big deal about organic foods? Are they really better for you, or do people just feel better about buying them? And what on earth makes a food like rice organic? The rice was talked to nicely and allowed to roam freely throughout its life? help me out, I don't get it.

Organic foods are those grown without pesticides or herbicides.It's different from free range etc.
It's better for the environment and, not proven but likely to be, better for you as you are not ingesting poisonous chemicals when you eat organic. ]
Any fertilizers or pesticides used to grow organic food must be of animal or vegetable origin. Organic meat means that the animal was Raised or conducted without the use of drugs, hormones, or synthetic chemicals.
I have no definitive evidence that organic food is healthier than other food. I find it tastes much better. Especially organic meat. ]
