Its sunday night and my mom found out I cut and says I can't do my modeling fashion show if they not gone by wednesday because I have fittings and the lady wouldn't let me model with marks all over me. Anyway I wanted to know how to get the cuts to go away by then? I've tried lemon juice. Any other sugeestions?

If the cuts are deep, those are harder to make disappear. But if they aren't, then you can probably purchase some things at a store that can help reduce the scar.
I used to cut when I was younger, I still have some of the scars. Eventually they did start going away, except for the deeper ones. I did get some scar creams, some worked, some didn't.
So I would suggest trying different kinds.

Also, I really hope you get some help with the cutting. It can ruin your life. So if your mom isn't willing to help you, then go seek help.

Depends on what you cut yourself with. I had a similar problem- I had to wear a bikini, but I had about 3-4 months. Aloe Vera kinda works over a really long time, and you could try to tan, but it doesn't really work. you could buy scar treatment creams at most pharmacies, too. If they ar deep scars, they may never go away. but if they are thin, light sacars, they will eventually.I used to have very many on my leg, but they went away after a long time. My only question is,why is your mother freaking over some scars at a fashion show, and not the fact that you cut? Wasn't she pityful, or at least a little?

I don't think your mom really meant what she said. Mom is probably upset and confused about what to do. Most parents do not understand why a child will do this to themselves. Even though you try to hide the cutting scars you know you will be caught. The cutting is a cry for help. It is unfortunate that some parents do not realize this they think it is just an act of rebellion, it is not. Dial 911 or go to the nearest fire or police station and ask for help. They are safe havens for children.

In any case you can get help without her. dial 911 the next time you feel like cutting help will be sent to you. Mon cannot stop you or keep emergency responders from checking you out and taking you to a hospital for help.

There is no way to make any scar go away. Once you get a scar it is there for life. What Plastic Surgeons do is reduce the scars, which is another way of saying they hide them by moving them into a crease in your skin. What they are doing is actually making another scar in a place that isn't seen as easily as the one(s)you have and moving the scar you have into the hidden place. It may or may not be possible to do that with every scar.

I have two suggestions for you.

First: you need to stop cutting. Cutting is a coping mechanism brought on by stress or the need to relieve stress and the depression stress can cause. Try this instead of cutting. Find a big rubber band and let it hang loosely from your wrist. When you need to cut snap the rubber band against your wrist. Most people who cut find this a good alternative while they work to overcome the need to cut. Best of all you do not have to run and hide to do so. You can snap the rubber band when and where you need to.

Second: You need to find out why you cut. Yes it is a coping mechanism usually to cope with stress or depression and sometimes both. This takes the help of a professional person. A clinical psychologist is the best person to turn to.

The psychologist can help you find what triggers the need and find ways to overcome or eliminate the problem. The therapist is someone regardless of your age you can tell everything and anything to knowing it stays between you and the therapist. I would suggest you find a young female therapist to talk to as you will probably be more comfortable with a young female. What matters most is the confidentiality of your therapy. Nothing gets back to your parents that is said in therapy.

When your therapist speaks with your parents it is to tell them what they need to do to help you with whatever is found to be the root cause of why you need to cut. There are ways for them to do this without actually telling them what you talk about in therapy. Without violating your confidence.

My suggestion is you try what I suggested with the rubber band. Ask mom or dad to contact their EAP program at work for a referral to a Clinical Psychologist for you to see.

Most EAP programs will allow a certain amount of visits without cost to your parents. If the psychologist feels additional visit are needed he or she will work with your parents to get more from either the EAP program or their employee health plan.

I know this for certain; mom yelling at you will only cause you to cut more. TO overcome this problem requires a professionals help so talk to mom or dad.

There is no remedy. The whole point why people cut is to cope, and unlike crying the scars have a lasting impact.
Perhaps in your moments of distress you should've thought about this. The only way is to go to the hospital and they can help glue the scars back together again.
