I totally disagree with GDROB it is completely possible to have all of those disorders, however that is because some of them fall into the same categories. Social anxiety and panic attack are both components of Generalized Anxiety Disorder, or GAD. You can have GAD with agoraphobia or without agoraphobia or with social anxiety but no panic or the opposite or many other combinations. It is called GAD because it is a generalization of disorders and it can encompass many things. Also your anger/low self esteem can come from your cronic depression and with GAD/OCD it can make it even worse. Many people who have OCD do not have rituals but they have an OCD mind (ie they cannot get an obsessive though out of their head and they don't know why it got there- this is also connected to anxiety). You self esteem issue/lack of control in your life is likely what caused your eating disorder. So you see (also you GDROB) that all of these disorders can be interwoven and frequently are. What is unfortunate for you is that they are all happening at once(which is not uncommon-many people who have eating disorders are also being treated for depression or other disorders).

Whoever said below something about ulcers is absolutely correct. This cannot cause tumors but if ignored or treated incorrectly it can cause ulcers, high blood pressure, flu like symptoms, etc. When you are depressed and spend your days in bed you will likely develop illnesses because of your lack of activity, lack of food, and lack of motivation. This could cause problems anywhere from sleep deprivation to obesity(yes depression cause effect your metabolism in a very mean way- but in your case I don't know what kind of eating disorder you have).

Please seek help from a mental health care provider asap! Don't go to some crazy psychologist that you find in the yellow pages- consult your regular physician for advice or look for a mental health clinic in your city as they usually hire some of the best of the field in your city. Remember that medication does not fix the disorder, you do. It only aides you along the way. A proper mix of therapy and medication will help you step by step. Good luck

So much stress (I'm guessing you have a lot of it from these illnesses) has been known to cause physical illness, because when you are at a high stress level your immune system is weakened. Therefore, you are more susceptable to diseases. You can also gain a rash, or a sleeping disorder. I have not heard anything as serious as a tumor from these problems. You may want to check with your doctor if you really want a good straight answer, or WebMD.com is pretty helpful.

I have obsessive compulsive disorder, social anxiety disorder, and I used to have somewhat of an eating disorder. What I think you need to do, is talk to a professional for some help. Get counselling, from a psychiatrist who actually knows what they are talking about. I don't think this is an issue that anyone on here could have all the answers for that you need. If you are really having that manys problems all at once, you need to talk to someone as soon as possible. Get things sorted out, and taken care of. If you don't, I think things will just continue getting worse. All I can say is..until you can get some professionaly help, surround yourself with things or people who make you happy, and who can take your mind off of the things that bother you!

You are already ill from them. You can become overly depressed...which can cause more stress, that can cause Stomach Ulcers, you can have kidney failure, heart attacks from the panic attacks, and a lot more. You need to see a psychologist.

Tumors come from a piece of DNA splitting more than it's maximum 42 times. At that point, the fibers at the end are so thin that they break apart and multiply on their own. The only thing I think you can develop are other mental illnesses, schizofrania in particular.

And if it's any encouragement to you, I know a lot about what you are going through as I have chronic depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, dissociative identity disorder, and low self worth problems. :) It's what makes us unique.

No, you won't get tumors from mental illness.

Eating disorders can cause a lot of problems with your body if left untreated. But no tumors. :)

I have never heard that... a tumor is an abnormal cell growth... there probably is a slight chance that your bodys cell division can be harmed due to stress... but try not to worry about it... millions of people suffer from depression & other mental illnesses... just make sure you set up daily visits with your therapist... & take your medicine as directed... you should be fine... and if u ever need sum1 to talk to you can always hollah at me... so if you want just ask me to add your sn to my buddylist... cuz i keep my buddy list closed...

From someone who knows a lot about mental health issues you cannot be suffering from all of those illnesses at once. Sure, one or two in conjunction but not all of those hun. I think you probably took your problems, magnified them and went yupp I have all of those mental illnesses put together. Fact is probably not.

Depression is an all the time thing. There is mild depression which mean intermitently and not a constant. If you have depression and it's a constant issue make sure you always communicate with your doctor exactly how you have been feeling and get medication adjusted as it's the only way to feel well.

If they do not fine tune your medication like they would oil in a car each visit you are indeed going to feel bloody awful. I know I have been there with BiPolar.

Panic attacks may be called a mental illness but really are not in the strictest sense. It boils down to your biggest fears be it irrational or rational scaring you ie crowds etc and you feel dizzy and all of that--been there too.

You can make yourself feel better by putting your head between your knees and breathing in and then getting out of the enviornment bringing them on. There is medication for it but for the love of GOD do not go on PAXIL. That drug nearly killed me and wrecked my life for 6 months.

Obsessive compulsive I know not much of anything about. Again, what you call obsessive compulsive to me or anyone in that filed (mental health) might tell you there's no way that's obsessive compulsive til you see who is on the ward and the length they have to.

A lot of people THINK they know the definitions of mental illness and what they do but that's not so obsessive compulsive, depressed, anxiety disorders etc are way BIGGER than anyone in here will write to you about.

The only thing that can cause an illness or premature death here is the eating disorder. See someone in mental health about that and your fears you may have all of the above illnesses too. They will get you help for the eating disorders and whatever else is mentally troubling to you.

Can mental illness spawn other illnesses absolutely one hundered per cent NO. Do not worry. Can it cause tumours? HELL NO. Half of the people you know would have tumours and be dying if that is so. FACT 1 in 10 people you know will have a mental illness--very common--people just do not talk about it. If you want send me a feedback note and I'll show you 1,000 celebrities in the same boat as you are living, enjoying life, acting and surviving.

If you have a mental problem I'll try to steer you through with more guidance and e-mails if you so desire. I have been there scared, angry, upset, pissed off, confused as you are and seen the worst you can go to in a hospital setting. But man will those people and doctor's repair you and build you up stronger than anyone else.
