Don't bother reading this unless you have gotten a perm before. I want to get a perm like so it is wavy or whatever they can do but i am afraid they will mess up or it will totally mess up my hair. I use to dye my hair alot and that never messed it up at all. i guess my question is how did your perm turn out and tell me anything that happened that i shuold know about before i get it done? thanks alot

fine. [ x0oLoViNiTo0x's advice column | Ask x0oLoViNiTo0x A Question ]
lilshorty09 answered Friday December 31 2004, 1:53 pm: i got a perm once when i was younger, it takes alittle while for all the curlers to go in your hair! but other than that my perm when perfect! it was curly and then after a long time it goes straight again, !! but my frined got a perm done last year and she has really think hair and her hair used to be really straight and now it has never really gone back to being straight, it is still really frizzy! so perms can go each way i have really thin hair and she has really thick hair so maybe that has something to do with it!?! hope i have helped just alittle! =) [ lilshorty09's advice column | Ask lilshorty09 A Question ]
PleaseHelpMe answered Friday December 31 2004, 1:07 am: Hey we'll i've gotten my hair permed before. Both of the times i got it, it turned out nice, but for probably 3 months it is really hard to comb out. That was probably because i got highlights mabye 4 times before. Basicly before getting it done make sure its washed bcuz you wont be able to wash it for 48 hours after its done. And if you get it and it turns out way to currley then comb it out so that its straight after you get it done and the next day. I did that and it worked. I beleive there are around 7 different types of currels you can get. When you get there they'll show you whitch ones will make your hair very curley or ones that will just make it wavy. And they also won't let you get a perm if they think it will mess up your hair. They had to decide weather they could give me another one. And you shoudln't color your hair after you get a perm either. Give it up to more than a month. Hope I helped. byes [ PleaseHelpMe's advice column | Ask PleaseHelpMe A Question ]
XxXCheerStarXxX answered Friday December 31 2004, 12:26 am: Hey,i hated my perm! I had to put shit in it everytime i took a shower or whatever, and i dyed my hair to and my hair was long to about my boobs and now my hair is frizzy i straightnen it every day so it doesnt look really bad! If i were you i wouldnt do it. If you do you cant was your hair for at least 2 days after the perm and you have to make sure you use condidtionar.....its lots of work to make the perm look good! You can get different types. If u want it wavy then get the biggest rods or one size smaller than that just tell the people that there.....i dunno about the curly perms hope i helped
AdviceGivers0601 answered Thursday December 30 2004, 10:58 pm: ive had a perm before hun and in my opinion i hated it!!!!!....i think you should only get a perm if you have short hair..it dont look right with long hair trust me...though you can get straight perms...which is what i did..its very dangerous for your hair so if you do get a perm buy lots of conditioners and talk to your local hair salon. Shortie8959 answered Thursday December 30 2004, 10:41 pm: I got my hair permed wavy 2 years ago, and it turned out awesome! It depends on where you go, I guess. Where I live, there's Holiday Hair. That's where I went. I would try it, it'll look awesome. And if they screw up your hair (which WON'T happen, lol), you can squirt shampoo in their face until they run away, lol. J/k, it'll turn out great! It takes about 1 1/2 hours to get it done. They wash your hair, and then they put rollers on your head and put plastic on top. Then they make you sit under a dryer for a while until your hair dries. Then they wash your hair again, and put the chemicals in it. The chemicals smell really bad, I have to warn you. Lol. Also, your head will get itchy, but you're not allowed to scratch it. Then they just dry it again, and put like, hairspray and stuff in it. It turns out really nice! You're not allowed to shower for 2 days, because that screws up the perm. And whenever your hair gets wet, you can smell the chemicals. It smells like skunk, but it only lasts a few weeks. Good luck!
Hope I helped!
Happy New Years!
