jokerzgrl answered Saturday November 20 2004, 10:52 am: I live in Detroit. Yeah, I'll be the first to admit the winters are cold, but the scenery is beautiful, and if it snows too much, we get school off, sometimes. Birmingham is kinda cool though. But the main places to hang out are downtown Royal Oak and Ferndale, and of course, Detroit. I understand that you're scared, I can't say for sure that you'll like Michagan's unpredicatble weather, like for example, its been 50 degrees and a bit higher all week around, so... The summers here are awesome, though, there are a bunch of free concerts and and activities, you just have to look for them. If you ever want to look for places to hang out at, I can help, and help you as you get used to Michagan weather. Good Luck.

You will wear layers, and warm clothes. The winter's are very cold, so when you are layered up, you can have fun in the snow. You also get many snowdays too; Which is great, cuz you can stay home, and build forts, and snowmen! lol. I hope I helped!

alisonmarie answered Friday November 19 2004, 6:48 pm: Birmingham is a nice area. There's tons of cute shops, nice restaurants, and really REALLY good schools. The cold is pretty frigid at times - I can't lie - but it's nothing good winter clothes can't fix. And on the plus side, school is often cancelled for snowdays, which is always fun!
Plus, you've got all the fun winter activities which you might not have experienced before: skiing, snowboading, ice skating, toboganning, etc. Or the winter is always a really good excuse to stay inside and be lazy.
