i have just bought my daughter a guitar for her 8th birthday. I never had a chance as a kid so dont want my kids to miss out,. the only problem is that i dont know anything with regards to tuition on guitar so wondered if any1 knows best course of action for my daughter to learn.
If anyone has any advice that would be great

I just bought my father a guitar last month and I will say that looking for classes was easy but, finding a good price was hard...The rule as a teacher told me is never pay more than 30 an hour which is like 15 a half hour lesson... [ binkyfly25's advice column | Ask binkyfly25 A Question ]
MedicatedSanity answered Tuesday November 16 2004, 10:19 pm: as a teen trying to learn electic, i can honestly say... don't get her a book or a video. It is too hard for me and I already play other instruments. Lessons at a local place are the best. They usually cost between 40 and 65 dollars a month. good luck with that! :) [ MedicatedSanity's advice column | Ask MedicatedSanity A Question ]
BaseballBri1818 answered Tuesday November 16 2004, 6:02 pm: Get her into lessons, and get her a book. If it's an acustic guitar, i advise the hal lenard guitar method book 1. It's a great book to learn from, it's what i use and i'm doing great. Get her a good guitar teacher in a popular music store. if it's sum store downtown that is so small no one notices it, i doubt that there will be any good teachers. The prices might be cheap but i dont know about the teachers. Hope i helped! And it was a great move to get her into guitar! [ BaseballBri1818's advice column | Ask BaseballBri1818 A Question ]

orphans answered Tuesday November 16 2004, 4:27 pm: you could either get her lessons (i'm not sure how/where you could get them), but if you two have a busy schedule, you could even get an instructional video (that's how i'm learning) so she could work on it whenever she has a spare moment, and if she doesn't get something she can rewind, pause, and try it again.
