Has anyone ever had an out of body experience or met a ghost

Question Posted Saturday March 20 2004, 1:16 pm

I've always been curious about this. If anyone had ever talked to a ghost, or almost died, and came back to tell about it, I'd like to hear your story. I never have done either, and I wonder what it is like, and if this is for real.

I'm Wiccan.( I do that all the time but this is my fav one!!) I talked to my great-grandfather (He died last year) because my mom gave me earrings he gave her for her 16th b-day. I wanted him to see them on me. It was really nice to talk to him because my life's a littel hectic. I hugged him and told him I would contact him whenever I could.

I'm holding a seance really soon, and I believe in ghosts. I once thought i saw a little girl laying on my mother's bed. She was really transparent and looked very sick. I've also seen a man around my house. He wears a brown grubby suit and a hat. He has a dark gray beard and glasses. I think we can only find out if ghosts are real after death. I'll tell you what happens at my seance.

I work in a supposedly haunted hotel, and it is very creepy. It was built in 1896, and I've heard many of the horror stories about people dying and haunting the corridors. I do feel presence around me sometimes - and I've experienced my throat going totally dry and having a really tough time breathing, which only occurs down one corridor. I can look up into a mirror and THINK i see someone or something pass by it, and then turn and nothing's there. I've worked there for almost 3 years now though, so I'm pretty much used to it. Whatver it is; my mind playing tricks, or that there's actually something there, i couldn't tell you. I've never talked to a ghost though, so i wouldn't know what that was like.

There are several books about "near death experiences" where people have technically died, then were revived. One example is "Life After Life" by Raymond Moody, who interviews people who have had this experience. Go to Amazon.com or some other on-line book store and put "near death experience" in the search to find more. I haven't read any of them myself.

I haven't had a near death experience, although I did have surgery and when you are asleep on an operating table, who knows what happens. I woke up unable to speak because they put a tube down my throat.

I believe in ghosts. I may have seen a ghost (or been dreaming with my eyes open) but it was no one I knew, and I did not speak to it. I have talked to other people who have seen ghosts, too.

There is another book called "The Demonologist: The Extraordinary Career of Ed and Lorraine Warren" by Gerald Brittle. It is a really scary book, because it give accounts of hauntings, and explains thier theory of the difference between supernatural phenomon like ghosts and demons. The more recent version has been altered and doesn't have the photos, but maybe that is a good thing.

I dont think there is suck a thing, unless someone is physically connnected to the dead, but i dont even think this is possible. If you feel like your connected somehow and you think its a problem, try talk to someone who might understand you! - hope this helps
