Why do you say the only thing you've ever HAD? You still have it. Poetry, my dear is ususally written for the person that's doing the writing, as a way of expressing what's usually not easy to say but has to be. Sometimes, it's written for others, as in the form of Odes, but for the most part, it's for you. You haD it, you haVE it, and it's still yours. As lonmg as you enjoy it, then it's doing it's job, hon.

I'm sure your poetry is fine. Do you think that because of everyone having liked your poetry that you began identifying your self-worth by your poetry? If so, you should take a step back and look at all the good things that you have to offer the world. Poetry is only one facet of your many gifts and abilities.

Secondly, you need to look at whether the reson you write poetry is for self-satisfaction or only for recieving praise and attention from friends. If you enjoy it, write. Just like different people like different books, different music, and different foods, people can react differently to your poetry. As long as you enjoy it and you think it's good, then it probably is.

And, if you want some more outside opinions on your work, may I suggest <a href="[Link](Mouse over link to see full location) You can setup an account and post your poetry for others to read, vote on, and give you tips.

Keep writing!

U feel like this b/c the spot light isnt on you anymore. Its ok to feel like that..But she is probably doin it b/c she was jealous when u had the spotlight..to help ur cituation, just find something else that you cand do better then your freinds, or just dont compete w/ them at all.

Ignore her and do your own thing. If it makes you happy, there's no reason for her to belittle you this way. Write your poetry your way and when you're famous someday you can ignore her when she come begging at your feet.

Poetry is not the only thing you have. You are given many gifts you probably just have a lot of hidden talents. Well your friend is doing this because she admires your work, but the way she asked if the other girl was taking "her" place was VERY rude. She should have reminded her that she took your place. Just dont keep your focuse on her. Keep it on your work and you'll be fign.
