Im 15/f. At the moment I'm a Christian, but I'm considering becoming a solitary witch. I've got some questions I'd like to know the answers to from people who actually practise witchcraft and aren't just writing a book
1) Do I need to start praying to the God straight
away?
2) Do I definetely need a separate altar, goddess
shrine, god shrine and lunar shrine because I
only have a small room
3) Does being a witch cost a lot of money?
I'm too young to get a job so I don't have
much money
Don't get me wrong, I really want to become a witch. It's just that the books I'm reading just aren't answering all my questions as they are written by older women dedicated to the craft completely, not a young beginner. Any sources of information or tips on becoming and being a solitary witch are also welcome.
Thanx to the moon and back xxx
I congratulate you for being intelligent enough to question the faith you were raised in. Most people stay Christian because they're used to it, because it is familiar... not because they truly have faith and feel it is right.
As you can see for yourself, you'll probably get a lot of crap for wanting to practice a religion that feels right for you. People don't know any better than to put down what they don't believe in. It is sad, yes, but the small minded have so much to say on things they know so little about.
As for your questions:
1) Praying isn't neccesary.. not for a while anyway. It is more a directing of energy than praying... I always thought praying to be ineffective, myself.
2) One altar is fine, as long as symbols of both the God and Goddess are present.
3) All the money I suggest you spend is the couple of cents for some incense sticks... maybe buy a book or two. I'm fond of anything by Scott Cunningham... "Wicca" is good.. for the Solitary Practicioner.
Don't let anyone tell you what is right for you. If you end up feeling that Christianity is the way for you... then good! If you choose Wicca, even better!... If you wind up Buddhist... that's fine, too. Whatever makes you happy..

Does the ouija board really work?bb
I personally believe it works. I have *seen* it work, and I have plenty of stories about it working. I don't expect you to take my word for it.. but assuming you DO choose to use one, here's a bit of advice:
Be very very careful when you use a ouija board. Although Parker Brothers manufactures some that can be bought in toy stores, it is most definitely NOT a toy! The spirits that communicate through ouija boards have a lot to say, and like not all people are good... not all spirits are good either. They can be tricky and deceptive... they can say they're demons or the Devil himself and really spook whoever is using the board. Unless you are highly capable of controlling the spirits that come through, its not something you want to mess with.
Also, once you call spirits forward using the board, you better know how to make them leave. Good or not, you don't want spirits thinking they've got an open invitation to live with you or follow you around.

Hi, I like the group ICP and my girlfriend doesn't, she doesn't like it because it has killing in it, she hates it. Should I stop liking it or just keep listening to it, I just wanna make her happy, what should I do??
Making her happy is one thing, but don't do it at the expense of yourself. If you like ICP, then listen to it with headphones on or don't play them around her.
My boyfriend is a Juggalo and I can't stand ICP most of the time. I like a song or two, but that's about it. He never MADE me listen to them, he listens on his own time... and I even played nice and went to an ICP concert with him last October. When you're in a relationship you should be accepting of each other's personal tastes, so long as they're not harmful... like drug use or alcoholism.
She doesn't have to LIKE it, but she shouldn't make you feel the need to change.

ok so ill lay down in my bed at like 9:30 nd stay up thinking for like an hour. nd i can b exsausted but still stay awake nd think. sometimes it makes me mad cause i wanna go to sleep, or in the morning, i cant wake up since i fell asleep at like 10:30. do u kno wut i can do or if i have like a medical problem. . .?
ps-i tried counting ;)
I once read that many people can't sleep because their bed is used for just about everything - watching tv, writing, reading, etc. What I recommend, aside from soft classical music and keeping a journal for your thoughts, is to only use your bed as a place for sleeping. Don't even sit on it unless you plan on going to sleep. That way "bed" is a place for sleeping, as opposed to a thinking spot. Sort of like tricking yourself into sleeping.

What are some really good love songs? My boyfriend is in the Navy..so I'm looking for some songs maybe dealing with love apart. Or missing somebody. Thank you!
My favorite... "Lovesong" by The Cure. It is quite popular.. it has been covered by just about everyone. It can have a lot to do with being apart as well:
"Whenever I’m alone with you you make me feel
Like I am home again whenever I’m alone with
You you make me feel like I am whole again
Whenever I’m alone with you you make me feel
Like I am young again whenever I’m alone with
You you make me feel like I am fun again
However far away I will always love you however
Long I stay I will always love you whatever
Words I say I will always love you I will always
Love you
Whenever I’m alone with you you make me feel
Like I am free again whenever I’m alone with
You you make me feel like I am clean again
However far away I will always love you however
Long I stay I will always love you whatever
Words I say I will always love you I will always
Love you"

I was a Bipolar teenager once, so I understand where you're coming from. I tried to tell myself it was me PMSing, or just being a teenager, but as it got worse it became harder to deny. If you keep feeling this way and it keeps getting worse, DON'T be afraid to approach someone who you really trust with your problem. Getting help was probably the hardest decision to make, but it was the best one I could've made. Again, it may just be a slump you're in... something has got you down.. you're stressed out, etc. Its easy to call every emotional rollercoaster ride you go through Bipolar Disorder... but its the intense anxiety, the sleeplessness, the bad habits, the self injury, or any combination of a million other things that can indicate that you've really found what the problem is.
I suggest going to www.healthyplace.com. Research Bipolar Disorder and other Depressive Disorders... see if you can differentiate for yourself.
Good luck.. and if you need me, I'm tearsthatsear on AIM.
