I know for a fact that when it comes to math, I'm pretty slow. Today was the first day of school, and I have a math assignment but I'm very confused. It's a fraction paper. One side was really easy for me but this side I'm just not getting.
-1 1/4 + -2 1/2 =
I keep getting -2 1/4, but there's a list of answers (in a different order) at the side of the paper, and my friend told me the answer was 3 3/4.
Can someone help me with this problem? I don't seem to understand what I'm doing wrong.
My work is
-1 1/4 + -2 1/2 = -3/4 + -3/2 = -3/4 + -6/4 = -9/4 = -2 1/4 (link)

is your work in stead of it being 3/4 when you convert it should be -5/4

hey ok you basicly do the same thing. move your parts back in forth on a guy. thats it. and you cant be good or bad its just something your do.

oK..My mom and dad just split up about 3 months ago and like they decided to just get a divorce after the year ((im pretty sure)) so they are dating other ppl..and like this guy that my mom is dating..we have all thought they should date forever..but anywho..and so they went on there first date tonight and like i REALLY like this guy cuz hes really nice to my my sis and my MOM and like I feel like I'm not being right to my dad b/c i like this guy so much but i REALLY love my dad and so and I being not fair or right to my dad..HIGH rates for help!!!

ok well my parents just split up too. so i now what your dealing with. well your dad doesnt want you to be unhappy.he will find someone he likes too. you cant put that much pressure on yourself you just cant, not on top on school friends guys work and so much more you know??just wait god has a plan for everything, you will see. plus it's only their first date you know?they could decied just to stay friends. have an opened mind and if you have anything you need help with just ask.

Sorry it's so long, I just desparately need help. I e-mailed my crush at the start of June about how I felt about her (yes, its me again) and she said she liked me as a friend. It was actually kind of funny, every other word was "sorry." So, anyways, I've been thinking about her ever since. If you don't know what I mean, look up the lyrics to "The Longest Time" by Billy Joel, it perfectly describes me. Well, I recently e-mailed her again saying that I just can't stop thinking about her, and how right she feels to me. A week later, after a lot of stress that I'd been through, she replied that she had been away for a while with no internet access, and that she had been thinking about me the whole time, and she didn't know if what she had previously said was true. However, she had to clear up her current relationship, as it's already pretty much over, and then once she's done with it, she'll update me again. And so I'm really happy, because why shouldn't I be? I've been thinking about her non-stop for months! But then I find my eyes tearing, and I'm still practically crying right now, fifteen minutes later! Why is this? Because I just found out she's in another relationship? Couldn't be that, because she said that relationship is practically done for! Is it tears of joy? Doesn't feel like it.
Then there's my parents. I told my dad about it last night, and he acted like it was no big deal. Ya know why? You see, I'm a really late developer, so my voice hasn't changed yet, and because of that, he doesn't think it's very serious, but I know it is!

I think somebody already asked a question like this, but here I go anyway.
I am about to turn 15 years old in September, and I am in all honors classes this year in highschool. I also want to be in Drama. I was thinking maybe this year I could look for a job. Would that be too much on my plate for one year?
I am also wanting to take tennis lessons and workout after school.
I heard that honors classes hand out alot of homework, but I really want a job because my parents are never willing to pay for certain things, and I dont blame them.

well having a busy schedule will keep you in shape but if you feel like its to much dont take so many hours on you could always have a weekend job you know good luck
