So, i got a new cat and he has a habit of jumping up on the counters when no one's looking. he know's he's not supposed to be up there because as soon as someone walks into the kitchen he jumps down and runs away. how can i discourage, or even put a stop to this behavior? and advice helps!

So I read somewhere that if a teenager doesn't consume about 1800 calories a day, (or in the high thousands) then their body will go into starvation mode.

I eat less than that, probably around 1000ish, 1200 at most if I'm not eating at a restaurant. Not because I'm dieting (although I want to lose weight, but I'm doing that through exercise), but simply because I eat till I'm full.

Would that mean that my body is in starvation mode? I can't really force myself to eat more. (link)

i eat about 1,500 calories, and like they said,

I'm 17, a guy and i want to get involved with swimming. I was wondering whether or not i should wax or shave my legs? which would be the name for it? and whether or not it would cause ingrown hairs? should i go ahead and shave/wax my pubic area? I would also like to know how i should start my routine for swimming. what stretches, what should be a warm up, and how many 50 m laps should i do [one way on a olympic sized pool]. I would like to have a slimmer body, with nice abs and lower abs [like a abercrombie v cut]. how should i go about doing this? (link)
i've been on swimteam for 7 years, im actually quiting due to other intrests, but swimming is a great way to get into shape! kudos!

for the legs...i would just shave them,

as for your publc area, i would just shave around the edges, you wont be able to see the hair sticking out of the sides.

a good warm up you could do 3 laps, like two of free style or front crawl and one other lap of a different stroke (ie. breastroke, butterfly, backstroke) for a beginner swimmer, a good workout is 1,000-2000yards/meters. I'm a competetive swimmer, i did like 6,000-8,000yards a day. but keep it easy and slow, swimming is supposed to look graceful and relaxed when its not competetive like. oh, and swimming will help you lose some weight, but not a ton, it does at first, but then levels off usually, so try lifting some weights after a swim practice or do some abdominal exercises. hope i helped. =]


Ok. I'm 14 year old girl and i'm going into highschool this year. I'm over weight, (Trust me, I know i'm over weight. I'm NOT one of those girls who are really skinny, or normal and say they're fat. My doctor even says to lay off the food because of my cholesterol, and weight. Even my parents agree.) But that should'nt matter because of course, they should like you for who you are, not your apperance. Am I right? Well, i'm wondering if i'm wrong, and it really DOES matter, because you see, my friends have boyfriends and they have perfect bodies. (I know that happiness does'nt come from dating, but I can't help it.) I guess you could say i'm jealous, but thats not the point. Does weight really matter? And, if it does or does'nt, does anyone have any good tips for the pounds to start lowering? I am really, REALLY bad at diets. The longest i've ever stayed on a diet was for a week. I keep trying and trying, but I can't break my old eating habbits. (link)
it's true that you do need to watch your weight for health risks...apperence isn't everything. I've always been a little bigger than everyone else and a little overweight, but people should love you for who you are.
--If you're thinking about dieting..i joined a swim team. Swimming is so good for you! But it can also make you hungry. But I have slimmed down from it. Start out small. Do like 20 crunches a day..work your abs for 10 minutes. And it would be best to be physically active for like 30min. a day. And eat fruit..it's very filling! Just dont give up..u will want to..but dont. Ive let myself down so many times..it's not fair to do that to yourself. And idk how many calories you eat a day. A normal day is 2,000 calories...i eat about 1,500. Just consider.

Me and my girlfriend are going to Hershey Park this coming up Wednesday and well since a child she has been scared to go on roller coasters that have big drops becuase she gets sick. Does anyone know of a pill or something that can relax you or make you not get sick after rides? (link)
i know my friend uses Bonne, she gets easily car sick, and it calms her down too. It works really well for her on rides too, and she only has to take it like once a day.

im not sure how old you are, but i think you are just maturing and growing. The same thing happened to me, but if you might think something is wrong, you might want to consult a doctor.

these videos do wonders! ive been on it for 3 weeks and have lost over 5lbs!


i want to look amazing in two months. is there anyway i can loose a lot of weight in that amount of time. i also want to gain muscle. i dont have a lot of extra time in my schedule and i really love food.

like i have tried throwing up my food. but umm thats not gonna happen. i just cant. its sick. & ive tried not eating, but that doesnt work. i love food. aha. hmm any tips. im considered skinny but i have like some extra chubs that my clothes hide. and its summer real soon, so i cant hide it anymore.

ok, no throwing up first of all.
And u gotta eat. If you do not feed yourself, or skip meals, your body will hold your fat and you wont lose anything.
And eat breakfast, even if it is just a piece of fruit, or a granola bar, but if you're planning going on a diet i suggest not eating really big breakfasts, and skip the bacon and potatoes. And portion your sizes.
I found a really good exercising program called
WOWY Beach body. It does wonders! I have been on it, for about three weeks and have lost over 5 pounds with dieting and busy school work days. It doesnt take too long to do either and it works all parts of your body.

if you really want to lose weight, cut your portions and exercise about an hour everyday. You can still eat, even ice cream, or chocolate, just eat small portions, like instead of having 2 cups of ice cream have 1, or pizza, skip the meat, stick with the veggies and its better if its thin crust and have like 2 or only 3 pieces.
