Hi. I'm working on getting my body summer ready.
I don't really need to loose weight, just get into shape. Flatten the tummy, that sorta thing.
I want a flatter stomach, but I can't do a crunch because I have back problems. What are some exercises I can do to get it flatter?
Thanks. (link)

while exercise is hard to stick to, a healthy diet doesn't take much energy (although it's hard not to give in to temptation) but it's also a key to a flat stomach. if you limit food such as: chips, fries, ice cream, chocolate, pie, cookies, cake, peanut butter) and replace them with any type of fruit, that should help. if you can't do crunches you'll probably lose weight through the eating healthy thing, but you'll get a flatter stomach too. if you like to exercise, anything cardiovascular mixed with healthy foods will do the trick. running especially. long distances pretty much guarantee it.

Im a guy and guys gotta look good. im a football player and i have an athletic kind of body. but even though i excercise and play sports. i still have fat around my stomach. all my friends have abs and all that and that makes me insecure knowing that they are more attractive. what should i do? does anyone know how to get rid of the fat? it seems like you exercise a lot already, so i don't think you need more running or anything - the only other major factor in stomach fat is what kinds of food you eat, so i'd work on that. try to stay away from too many fries, chips, peanut butter, nuts, chocolate, and ice cream. if you eat more fruits (apples, bananas, etc.) you'll lose your fat soon enough if you keep exercising. hope i helped!

I'm so sick of being alive. Everything is so hard. I can't stand it. It's like I'm doing something wrong. I have few friends, but it doesn't matter because I don't like them. I don't like any one. People don't meet my standards and they never will. And when it comes to girls I have no idea what I'm doing. It's like there's some secret technique that every one but me seems to understand. My problems with girls contribute the most to my loneliness and depression. I'm unmotivated in school, because I care more about trying to find a place I belong, trying to find some one who understands me. I can hardly sleep because I'm always worrying about all this. I'm scared I'll never have friends. I'm scared I'll never have a good job. I'm scared I'll never have my first kiss or have sex, and if I do it will be with some one I don't want to do it with. Somewhere between now and the next few years I 100% sure I'll be dead. I can't take it anymore. I've been to therapy and they even locked me up like a criminal in a mental health ward, but to no avail. I hate life. I hate myself. I hate every one, especially if they're happy. I don't see things ever getting better. Please help me. And don't post anything about God, Jesus, or religion of any kind, it will be an automatic 1 on your rating. (link)

wow i'm sorry. i can't say i know how you feel about everything you posted, but i can relate to a few things. especially the friends not being good enough for you.. it took me a long time to even admit or recognize that, so i think you're a step in the right direction. anyway, i'm not great at advice, but all i can say is i'm here if you wanna let loose about some of this stuff. i know a lot of people have already offered but i'd be glad to lend an extra ear if you need it. the best i can say right now is some typical advice, but i think it may have some positive side effects: try to get to know as many people as you can. it's very possible that the person you can relate to the best is somewhere beside you, but you just haven't had an opportunity to talk to them yet. i think if you open yourself up to anyone, even people who don't feel like they're good enough for you, sometimes it ends up that they're the BEST friends. i used to have this stereotype as well, (in fact i think i still unfortunately do at times) but my best and most caring friends are those who i thought weren't good enough for me. i hope you'll try it and i really hope you hang on. you've gone through so many bad things i'd hate for you to miss out on the amazing experiences you have yet to come

my friend slept over at my house, and we both slept in my room. i have a computer in my room, and i told her that she could go on my computer if she woke up before me, which she did. when i woke up, i was still in bed and i just opened my eyes, but i didnt move or anything. i could see from where i was on my bed that she was going through my computer and looking at all of my things. i could see that she was looking through one of my word documents. then when i said something, i sounded tired and she closed the document immediately and i could see she was hoping that i hadn't seen her looking through my things. i know that i shouldve said something but i didnt, and i completely regret that now, because it shocked me that she would do something like that.
so my question is...should i just try to forget about this happening? and also, is it just me or is it wrong for someone to look around someone elses computer without permission, even if they are(somewhat) a good friend?
thx a lot. (link)

it's not wrong for you to think that - everyone has their own personal things that they save, whether it's conversations with other people, or private journal entries or whatever. she knew it was wrong for her to do that because she obviously didn't want to get caught. maybe for this time, it's better not to confront her. i only say this for a couple reasons: saying something now will do nothing beneficial for either of you - you may get it off your chest, but if she apologizes, that doesn't save her from doing it again or from seeing the things that she did see. although you do need to let her know somehow. the next time you invite her over, maybe plan it this time, either when you wake up and see her doing it, confront her then and there. or, you could plant something private in there that's fake, and see if she reads it. she'll mention it somehow or find a way to ask you about it if she did. hope that helps

My stomach isn't flabby...but its too soft for my liking. does doing crunches really help tighten up your abdomen?
if so, how many should i do a day? (link)
|
crunches do help tighten your stomach, but only when it's combined with cardiovascular exercise. if your stomach's too soft right now, the crunches only add muscles BENEATH this skin, or fat, whichever it may be. when you run, dance, jog, walk, etc., you get rid of the soft part that you don't like, and the effect of your crunches will show through, and your stomach will be muscular. so do around 80 crunches a day, in sets of 20, as well as some form of jogging every other day, or as often as you can. hope that helps

13/f ok so im 5'6" but im slim and most of the guys in my grade are shorter than me or at least a little short. My height at the most. Would they not want to go out with me or kiss me if im that tall? (link)
|
hey, i have the same problem actually. although i'm a little older than you, i'm taller than most guys my age. the thing is, that honestly yeah guys are gonna care about height. just like most girls want a guy that's taller, most guys want a girl that's shorter, but i think you already knew that. but i have a friend who's four inches taller than her guy, and they are both fine with it and have been going out for quite some time. so i won't be fake and say all guys aren't gonna care, but you'll find several who won't. and also, like everyone else said, you're thirteen and you probably had your growth spurt early. by the time you're in high school, most guys will have had theirs and they'll be taller than you by at least a little bit or at least same height. (which most guys are fine with dating girls the same height as them, just as long as they're not way taller) so just try to wait it out for a year or so, or however long it takes them to grow, by next summer they'll probably have gone through their growth spurt.
