Is a teacher allowed to bring down your grade because you forgot a book or a packet that you need for that class?

ok, so, I'm in the 8th grade and I live in, and I'm about to go to highschool, but I dont know which one to go to. 2 highschools, brooklyn tech in brookyn and townsend harris in queens, have offered me a seat, and they're both good. but townsend is like REALLY good and it's hard to get into, but I heard there's a LOT of hw, like 4 hours worth of it every day, and going to townsend is like completely giving up your social life, and everyone's telling me to go there. I want to go there cuz it's close to me, and it's really intelligent, but I wont know anyone there. people that used to go to townsend said that college seemed easy compared to the highschool, and that they benefited a lot from the school. most of the kids I know are going to brooklyn tech. the school's definately not as good as townsend but it's still good because it's one of the six specialized highschools in nyc, but I'm really interested in it because some of my best friends are going there, and becuz I kno there will be tons of hot guys.

Honestly I think that you should go to townsend. I heard that it was a pretty good school.. I have a couple of friends that have gone there b4. I think that Its a great oprotunity for you to meet new people.. never be afraid of that. Also it doesn meangiving up your social life.. theres always time for that. always remember, theres a time for work and theres a time for play!

theres this really annoying ugly ignorent kid at my school saying stuff to me and id like to give him some good comebacks because im sick of his attitude and the way he talks to girls... anyone have any good comebacks?

Are you insinuating that I should tolerat such diobolical insubordination from one whose mental capacity does not even exceed to that of an imbisul?

my school is not fair to me. all the kids that go to junior high work 7 hours and only get a 15 minute break! to me that is completely outragous! and the high school students either dont get lunch or get lunch 1 time a week! and they work longer. i cant stand my school. how can i change how my illegal school is treating kids that they think have no responcibility even to have enough time to relax at lunch. my friend's school has freakin 50 minutes! i hate school. im so stressed and i feel like killing myself because i dont have any break time. please help

Okay.. first of all there is no reason to kill yourself over a 15 minute break at school. Im sorry but i just dont see that as a reason...anyways.. Try and talk to an administraitor... or take it to the state because you're completly right! it is illeagle! Talk to an administraitor and ask them why they only allow 15 minutes? in my school we get 42 minutes for lunch... That sounds like a bunch of bull to me. I'd seriously start a strike or a petition or something... Good luck... hope I helped in some way!

i dunno wats going on with me...i try to do my best in school and i have lots of friends and all and i had good grades but lately my grades been dropping lower and lower and lower...and my parents are like really strict about that...i feel ike everything is just to much for me and i cant take it anymore...its going over my head...i have a bunch more things to deal with and this school thing makes it even harder...my math teacher is gonna send like a progress report to my mom and im gonna be dead!...i dunno wat to do anymore! please help me!

Sit back and take a breather. I know just how you feel right now.. BELIEVE ME! Just breathe and keep your hope... things will get better soon.. you just have to work harder at it. Ask ppl for help.. ask your friends to help you if you dont like asking teachers. Sit back and think about what it is that might be holding you back so far... and once you find something... try and iliminate it from your life for a lil while... even if it means your friends. You'l be able to be with them... jut not chyllen all the time and stuff. Hope I helped!

ok well for my theater arts class i have to find a song thats like a story, cause i need to act the song out! so it has to be like a story turned into a song!! any ideas!! PLEASE i can't think of any

Basically any song is a story, you just have to find one that you really feel and that you think that you could put movement into... Hope I helped

Hey there...
I need a lottle help as to what to do in this kind of situation... I just found out not too long ago that a secret was being kept from me about one of my friends tryin to kill herself and how she ended up in the hospital and everything... and all of that jazz... and how 2 of my other friends "saved her" by calling the ambulance and stuff... Once i got to think about it.. I wondered what the hell her problem was and how she got all of the attention and stuff(and she did this by overdosing on IBprofun by the way) And i was sitting there getting mad b.c. i didnt think that she should have done anything like that. And i was mad b.c. I've been feeling really depressed lately and nobody understands me.. so i was thinking about doing the same thing... only with soma's (since my moms a drug addict and i can get that stuff) and i cry at night thinking about this and how i wish that ppl would see and it didnt have to go to an extreme like this.. what should i do?
p.s. my friends mom just died yesterday and so now im really worried about her

okay... wow this is a small world.. my friends mom died not too long ago as well! what ever you do... dont do it! Im sure that no matter how much you think about it and think that not enough people care.. there are..you just dont know it. And also... those people who do care about you, you'd be hurting them.. a whole lot. If you did do it they would be so angry with you and also people would start saying that you did do it becasue of attention... just really think about this... let me know what you think.. and if u eed anymore help either ask me here or you can IM me..
