flats, peekaboo shoes (shoes that have a small opening that show your toes), and pvc shoes are in. pvc shoes are like shiny shoes (not loafers though!!). mary janes are also cute, and for boots-avoid fur. also avoid chunky heels for any type of shoe.
some great sites are:
alloy.com
stevemadden.com
nordstrom.com
delias.com (similar to alloy)
ninewest.com
what i would do is subscribe to a couple of store catalogs or look at catalogs or online pictures. you can get some great ideas and everything that is shown in new catalogs are up to date.
good luck!

Q: Hello! I have a pair of dark blue jeans that I really want to punk out. I don't have a sewing machine but I have a few scraps of fabric I'd love to add, and I want to kinda rip it up and make the holes look natural. Any ideas? Links to sites and/or pictures that would help inspire would be greatly appreciated. Oh- the wierder designs and patterns, the better. I want these jeans to really stand out and look as punky as possible. Thanks!

im not really a punk dresser, so i cant really think of any good designs for that, BUT, you can get fabric glue instead of sewing things on. maybe try glueing a few buttons on it? ive heard if you put drops of bleach on it, it creates the worn out stain look. you can also get fabric paint (come in tubes with a pointy end) or fabric markers to draw designs on them also. hope i helped!

try the brand called Kipling. their backpacks are soo bright and theyre durable--which means they last long. i have one in bright pink green yellow and blue stripes and i lovee it. any luggage/backpack store sells kipling. if not, you can always look online for kipling, its a well known brand.

as for the sewing, i cant help with that, sorry. buttt i use these things called iron transfer sheets and you can get them from any computer store. what it is, is like printer paper (so you just load it into your printer like normal paper) and you just print out the image you want onto them. then you follow the instructions -- you usually have to iron on the image somehow, and it works! ive tried this before. just make sure you read the instructions carefully because i once did it wrong and i ended up with a bad image and i was ripping pieces of papers off a shirt for like 2 hours. good luckkk

Q: how do you do it?
i can straighten it with it (duh)
but when i try to curl it it just makes like a dent in my hair...
what's up with this and how the heck are you supposed to curl ur hair with a regular chi?

i have the same flat iron. well ive tried this before, it doesnt give the best results but you take one strand out, put the straightener on the top part of it and close the straightener. Then wrap the hair around the top of the straightener, and rotate the straightener towards the ground until the strand is done. it doesnt work that well, but its okay. lol. good luckk

i have bangs just like yours. to keep them from getting in my face, i use flat hair clips (or bobby pins, if you prefer) and pin my bangs to the side of my head. it actually comes out looking cute, and i usually just style my hair like that too! i got some great oversized clips from the H&M store in any mall which come in different colors and are very stylishh! hope i helped

i would definitely try nordstrom.com and delias.com.
nordstrom has a good collection and variety but SOME things are pricy, but the rest is pretty well-priced, and you get really good quality. For average quality, but still very cute dresses, try delias. nordstrom is a department store and delias can be found in many malls in case you don't like shopping online. have fun!

Q: I'm going to a winter dance and it's semi formal, but I have no idea what I should wear then. Can anyone tell me what exactly I'm suppose to wear? thank u!!

i think a short (not TOO short!) dress will look nice for a semi-formal. go for something vintage or 60's inspired, because that will add a casual touch to the dress. don't get anything too bright like hot pink, but stay with neutrals which have a POP of color. like if it is a brown dress, with a PINK ribbon,- so it stands out. there are great dresses like these on nordstrom.com, or if you are looking for somehthing cheaper, try delias.com to get ideas. don't do your hair up, just leave it down, or maybe put it half up half down. for shoes, i suggest plain flats or cute mary janes because you don't really need heels and everything. i hope i helped!

Q: what is hair breakage?
how do i detangle my hair besides using a wide tooth comb
|
|
|

hair breakage is when your hair is either too damaged, dry, or weak which causes it to split or actually break. To detangle hair, make sure you use a conditioner!!! And don't buy a 2-in-1 conditioner and shampoo product because those never work. If that doesn't help, try using a detangle spray. I've never used one, but you can always try! If all else fails, go to a trusted hair salon or one that your friends know, and get your "broken" ends cut off so you have healthy hair. While you are there, ask the hairstylist about some tips she can give you also. Good luck!

Q: F/16
Ok so my best guy friend turning 17 in a couple days and in the past week we've slowly started becoming a little more than friends after being best friends for a year. I know I'm going to get him a $100 gift card to Bloomingdales since he's SUPERRR metro but I want to get a little something else on the side like under $50 to make it a little more fun or special. Any ideas? Like I said he's very metro and likes Nordstrom & Bloomingdales and anything like that. Please help!
:)

I have a metro friend also!! well, anyways, i think the bloomingdales gift card is a GREAT idea. You could also try getting him like little things like a men's vogue magazine, a designer wallet (there are many out there that arent over $50) and you can even buy him the wallet and place the gift card inside, or something funny that reminds both of you about some inside jokes you guys might have! hope it helps!
