Q: hi, I want to get back to my natural hair color. I've highlighted it about three times. I found this website

hey =] im a cosmetologist, and i would recomend getting it professionaly done since you have highlights on your hair. not EVERYTHING is EXTREMLY damaging to your hair. highlighting your hair is actually worse then coloring it. & then just buy some deep conditioner from your local salon!

how much and how long would i have to tan to get that color?

you should deffintily not go that offten. go like 3 or 4 times a week for maybe 13 min sessions. and use tanning lotion.

Q: so does shaving/plucking really let more hair grow back worse?

hey, im studying to be a cosmetologist and i JUST learned this! no that is just a myth the only reason its seems more with shaving is because the hair is all growing back at one length so it makes it seem fuller. but its just a myth =]

Q: My hair gets greasy quite easily. Its always gross by the time I get home from school, and its starting to become a huge pain.

I do wash my hair everyday (I've tried the every other day thing, but my hair gets to gross to even be in a pony tail)

Any products or home remedies to help me out?
I wanna get through a full day with clean hair!

hey, im studying to be a cosmetologist. try a clarying shampoo! they are made for product build up AND oily hair! honestly you shouldnt shampoo your hair with this everyday but dont buy a moistureing shampoo. & try not to touch your hair often the oils from your hands will just rub onto your hair. good luck!

Should I change my hair?

My hair is currently long and usually straight. It is light blonde (not quite platinum) with dark brown underneath and hot pink extensions. I have a cool skin tone (warm colors look awful on me).

I am considering:

- dark brown color all over
- long platinum streaks in the front underneath area
- hot pink extensions beside the platinum
- blunt bangs (straight across my forehead)

Would you suggest that? I am worried that I will regret the decision. I do not want to blend into the crowd or look tired/dull. I was naturally blonde for many years but my hair is now a dull, mousey brown.

Q: So my hair is really curly and almost down to my elbows, and it's dark brown, with longer layers. I straighten my hair almost every day, otherwise it looks really bad. The problem is, I have really bad split ends. I just got my hair cut and asked for the dead ends to be cut off, but she didn't get all of them! So now my mom won't let me get my hair cut again for awhile. My hair gets really dull and still and dry when I'm out in the winter air, which makes it worse. The main products I have are:

hey, im studying to be a cosmetologist. I'm the same way! Dont blow dry your hair everytime that you shampoo it & with that said DONT shampoo it everyday. try every other day. shampoo might be one reason why your hair is feeling so dry! & yes the oil thing does work, i use extra virgin olive oil once a month on my hair. You may also want to try some deep condtioners or recontructioners. for example, redken CAT protien spray or joico deep penatrating condtioner. Next time that you do get your hair try to get all your dead ends cut off and make sure that you go to someone who knows what they are doing. & im serious about the air drying and not shampoo everyday. honestly it will help. good luck!

you can buy a chi at ulta. If you have a cosmotoligist lisence then you can buy one at ace bueaty supply for cheaper. thats were i got mine and it works wonders =]

Q: Is there a particular reason why Hebal Essence and Panteen bad for the hair?

yes. the cemicals in the shampoo's are damageing. they burn your hair. ive had professionals tell me. they said they have seen people who lost 25 precent of their hair using those shampoo's. oh and V05 is also VERY bad for your hair.

Q: my hair is a medium brown color. i have been trying to dye it medium blonde with very blonde highlights, but it either turns out a brassy dark red or stays the same. how on earth do i get my hair the blonde i want without using bleach which will dry out my hair wayyy toooo mucchchhh? should i get it professionally done?

YOU CAN NOT DIE IT FROM DARK TO LIGHT!!!! it just wont work. you have to decolorize it. beleive me ive had to do it before. i suggest you get it professionaly done if you dont want to mess your hair up more

Q: Ok,well today,i took a bath,shampoo'd and conditioned my hair,then put this serum that stops split ends.but recently (every once in a while) i've noticed my hair has been falling out.a couple of mintues ago,after my hair was dry (by the air) i put it to the side and combed through it with my fingers.i got about 10 strands of hair! i was so scared!!! my sister's hair fell out,but thats probably only because she dyed it so much.no one else in this family has had this happen!should i worry and go to the doctor,or is this normal?!

you are going to loose about 100 hairs a day. but it could also be the shampoo you are using. herbel essance and panteene are VERY bad for your hair. try using biosilk or tresemme for dry or damaged hair. and also wash your hair every other day because shampoo isnt too good for your hair.

Q: i really want a makeover.. my style has basically been the same since like 6th or 7th grade. (im a freshman right now) i have dark brown hair thats shoulder length, i basically wear coverup, eyeshadow, and mascara (sumtimes eyeliner) for my makeup, and usually i just wear jeans and a fitted shirt or comfy clothes like on the weekends. i don't want to dye my hair because i like my color and so does everyone else. and i usually straighten it if i wear it down otherwise i just leave it in a ponytail. what are some different things i could do with my hair and makeup and what can i do to like change my clothing style?? (nothing dressy though.) sorry this was so long!

put on the color eye shawdow of your color shirt thats what i do and i love the way it comes out

straighten your hair in layers ... im guessing you have thick hair... well i have really thick hair and i straighten it in layers ...like put half up and half down and do the bottom and then the top it really does work for me and maybe sparying the littlest bit of hair spray might also help

hey hun the same thing use to happen to me i use to use the mabaline eyeliner in the red stick and it didnt work good at all and now i use revlon i think its in a black and gold stick and it works great
