My whole life, so far anyways, has been one, big, miserable hell. I'm going to be 19 in September and I don't feel like I can trust anybody. I've been told I'm pretty even beautiful, but I am not popular. Everybody makes fun of me, all throughout school they've made fun of me. My friends make fun of me, my family makes fun of me, and they do it in front of people who just met me which gives them a bad impression of me. I feel like everyone hates me because of some of the stuff they say. Everyone talks down to me when I say how I feel and I just hate it! Everyone seems to want to know how you feel and then when you tell them, they yell at you! I hate my life, and I hate being alive. No one would miss me if I was dead, so why does God keep me alive? God obviously has big plans for you if you're still here...don't give up. Have you ever tried talking to Him? Maybe you should...just tell Him how you feel...faith can move mountains, it can definitely help you. The people who answered before me are right; God has a plan for you. Someone told me once that the harder you have it and the longer you have to wait...the bigger the plan!
I agree that it isn't cool that your family, friends and others bring you down. Are any of them believers in God? If they are, explain to them that they really aren't representing what He's all about by treating you the way that they do. If that's too defensive or they aren't believers...just tell them what you told us, that you feel that they may be concerned when they ask about your feelings but then you feel that they don't want to hear it. It's not okay for people to treat you like that.
Also,I think you should find someone you can talk to about this...and someone who knows God personally; a lot of people do and they would love to minister to you and explain the plans that He has for you. ("For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." -Jeremiah 29:11.) Talking to a pastor or someone at a local church can help you regain some confidence, learn about God's plans, and get plugged in to a community that is not known to judge or tease or gossip. It's a family, one that possibly will make you feel accepted (though it's one not known to dwell on who's popular, but rather enjoy friendship and fellowship) and one that will show you how beautiful you are (on the outside, and the inside, which feels so much better). It's a good family to have. :)

What does it mean to be a Christian exactly? I have always considered myself to be a Christian and now I wonder what being a Christian means really.
My best friend and I were talking and she seems to believe that being Christian means you have to go to church every day it's open but I don't believe that. I think my best friend has good ideas about Christianity in that we, as Christians, should be tending to (helping) others, Christian or not, but I am unsure about the need to go to church.
I know lots of celebrities are Christian, like the Jonas Brothers (all three that I'm aware of--Nick Jonas, Joe Jonas, and Kevin Jonas), Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana), Alicia Keys, and Tom Hanks. I don't think they go to church every time the doors are open, but I know they do believe in Christianity and God.
To me, all of the Christian churches I've gone to have almost been like social gatherings. Maybe I'm just going to the wrong sorts of churches or maybe I have the wrong idea. Is it wrong for a Christian to NOT go to church? If a Christian does not go to church every, say, Sunday then does it make them any less of a Christian?
What does being Christian mean to you? What defines as person as being Christian? Any information, opinions, and links would be highly appreciated. (link)

i do go to church pretty often, but i do think its possible to be Christian without church....though it helps with learning a lot. to me, being Christian has always meant to confess that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, believe in the Bible and try to live out the plan the Lord has for me.
when it comes to going to church, you maybe shouldn't go if it feels like a social gathering, because God wants you to keep the Sabbath day holy, and mingling may not help. but exploring other churches or even youth groups could help expand your knowledge of God and can help you live more accordingly to His Word. :)

old question, but i figured i'd answer. a columnist before me took a lot of good passages that say not to cuss. they are so true. so many times in the Bible it's mentioned that your words reflect your heart, and you should not say them in ignorance. and others will judge when you cuss, also indicated in the Bible more than once. perhaps the most notorious incidence of this happening is the 3rd time Peter denied Christ and started cussing. then all around him no longer believed he knew Jesus...get the pattern? non-Christians do not see Christ when someone cusses, and God may see your faith waver. also, just because someone says they are Christian, it is reflected through speech, so it may not necessarily be. the Bible, the guide, does say to refrain from cussing. hope that helps.

My cousin was going to be in labor this week or next week, she went to the doctore yesterday and she lost her baby before labor. she had to reduced labor. baby was just so pretty he is perfect. they weight him and going to bastize him. and it was stuck in cord. anyway please keep her in your prayer. i really feel bad becouse she desver have that ... Read Morebaby. her mom walk out of her life font of her she was 8 and lost her sister HOlly she nver seen and her grandma she become close to. now she lost frist of her child be worst day her life. i don't know she be the same becouse she never have alot in her life. i do'nt know why god plan something like this i know it maybe not god i don't know hwy this happend. she so young and was wanting the baby. we pray so hard for marchle now our famly be in greift i know my grandma and my aunt lose it just lost 3 people last few month and years. God has a plan. and that little boy is in a better place than any of us now, with his Creator. please pray with your cousin, read the Bible together, and tell her just don't lose faith, because sometimes that happens with a loss. God knows what has to happen. and remind her if she keeps on the path of the Lord, she'll see him again. i'm sorry again.

recently my friend's little sister died..2 years old and got strangled while trying to get out of her crib.. She got caught or something i'm not really sure how..But she asked me why would God ever EVER take a 2 year old girl away?

i don't know if any of us will ever know why exactly God took her sister, but God does. Maybe you should ask your friend to ask Him. Pray and read the Bible. Tell her that Heaven is so much better than here and that her sister is so much better off. Going to church and support groups usually help, but i hope she doesn't blame God for the loss, because, well, it might sound sappy but her little sister wasn't lost. she's just not physically here anymore. i hope that helped. :)

hey. you asked this quesion like 10 days ago and i saw it before but i didn't relly have an answer and you might've already found what you were looking for but if you havn't i saw this book at my dad's friend's house called "Feng Shui: do's and Taboo's" that has advice on feng shui everything(you car, your friendships, um fertility...and yeah your room). it's written by Angi Ma Wong i think. i didn't memorize it or anything so you might want to look at your library or book store or something.

I'm totally lost in the types of Christianity there are. I know I believe in God, and the fact that Jesus died for us to get into Heaven. But what I do not understand, is what exactly God did, and what exactly Jesus did to get crucified in the first place.

i'm not sure i really understand the questions but i had to look since that's kind of how i feel all the time: confused about my religion. well like cathliocism is a branch of christianity and they belive the same kind of things (like how Jesus was crucified and all) but they usually also belive in praying to saints and cristians don't. they belive in praying directly to God becuase they don't have to go through the saints. then theres Jahovahs Witness which is another popular branch of christianity that seems to come mainly from mexico, i htink they belive in the saints and everything but they also sacrafice everything to thier church. if i'm just confusing you now i've named cathlioc-christian, christian-christian and Jahovah's witness-christian. those are the 3 types i know.
Whew! now the second question: since you refer to Jesus being seperate from God your probably talking about God the Father whom created Earth and all it's people, who most people seem to pray to and hear when "God talks to them". He's the first out of the Holy Trinity and He created Jesus and the Holy Spirit. without Him...nothing would exist...nothing.
and third: Jesus didn't do anything except claim to be the Mesiah, which He was. That's why people were skeptical and thet's why they arrested Him. They crucified him however becuase becuase of these non-beliver's opinions. Panchus Pilot asked the people if he should crucify him and the people said "yes"(very loudly and all at once).
But i know nothing about denominations, sorry.
So i hope i shed some light and i'm sooooooo sorry if i made you read all that and just confused you more. but just consider yourself christian and belive in God and don't worry you'll be fine.

Um...i'm pretty sure the idea of "karma" is that you selflessly do good things for other people and good things come back around(not cuz you were expecting them to, but like becuase the universe like thinks you deserve them). and the same w/ bad things. but you can't be all vollunteering at a homeless shelter or something thinking oh yeah i'll bet he'll ask me out now. just do good things cuz you want to do good things.
Another thing is if you want something good to happen i would go out and make it happen. don't wait for "karma" to catch up with you.

there are a lot of stories about fairies, and there are a lot of stories about God.
We don't have proof that fairies or God exists...yet so many people are convinced God does, while fairies or something of the sort are classified as just things in story books.
I'm not trying to get attention or anything, but I kind of don't get it.

My dad is super-christian and i try not to think about that question cuz i have a really strong relationship with God and a really REALLY strong fear of well...satan. My dad says 6trace it back and everything in the bible can be historically proven. I choose to belive him. You can look into it if you want but in the end it's really your chioce. Does God exist to you? If yes, you can take that in and rest easy knowing where you go when you die. If no, well, then what's your reward when life is through?
