advice

My friend Viktor, is 10 (I'm 14). He has informed me that he has started to drink alcohol (he's 10). And I'm really worried because it's only 10.

Can anyone tell me about the impact of alcohol (cuz i havn't really tried myself) and what I should say to him? Please help!

Its really a bad idea to start drinking at a young age, especially that young. Sit him down and talk to him about it, let him know that you are worried. Its a very dangerous situation, while it takes adults about two years to become alcoholics it only takes teens two weeks, and considering he isn't even a teen yet, his brain could be effected by it even more. That is a real statistic.
Considering that he is that young as well, he may not understand the impact of what he said and elaborating a little. Its fairly normal for your parents to let you have a sip of wine at a formal function now and then, but if he is talking about getting liquor on his own... then I'd advise you to talk to either your parents or his. If you want more advice at all, or have more questions please feel free to email me!

i don't know what subject this should be in, but, ok, i want to get my bellybutton pierced, and i live in utah. i know places where i can get it done, but, does anyone know about how much it would cost? most people say it costs ... plus the price of the jewelry. but, if i have a bellybutton ring, do you think they would use it, so i don't have to get one there? thanks!

You don't have to wait a year before you can change your belly ring.... and you don't have to buy cleaning solutions where you get your piercing either. It'll be more expensive.
If you buy some saline solution, which is what they typically use for contacts, you can get a store brand, nothing fancy real cheap too. you just take a shot glass, fill it up with the solution and morning and night:
Bend forward, so your belly button is resting on the top of the shot glass, then you stand up, and lie down on the bed, and shake the shot glass so it cleans your piercing... little complicated to explain. but do that for three months and you'll be able to change your belly ring sooner than what they tell you. just make sure before you put a new belly ring in, and when you take it out, put it in a cup of saline solution and shake it a little to clean it.
Most piercing places aren't going to want to use a piercing that you brought it, because it can bring up a lot of legal issues. (Example: if it gets horrible infected with the belly ring you brought in and you can sue them for not using sterilized equipment, ect.)
although some places are willing to, so you just have to bring it in and ask if they would.
Some advice however, make sure its the barbell that you have, not a ring, some places suggest getting a ring when you pierce because its easier to turn, but the rings tends to catch on clothes easier and can really irritate your piercing after you get it.

Another thing; try to go to some place in a mall, they normally have more credibility and have a cleaner studio, this will reduce your healing time and the chance of getting an infection

you are also going to want to wear some look fitting clothing for the first week or so.

Sorry that was so long, Hope it was of help

ok so i have a lot of acne on my back/shoulders and some on my chest.. its really un-attractive and ive had it for a few months or so, im 16 years old and i havent started using any kind of product to have this acne caused. i just dont know what to do about it. i love myself and my body and what not but this acne completely suCks! what can i do to get rid of it? is thre a product to get rid of body acne or anything? pleaseee help! :(

I know it sucks. I had the same issue. My guess is you have long hair right? Well that tends to be one of the causes of acne on your back, shoulders, and chest, its where your hair, that tends to naturally have many oils in it is constantly against your skin. So tips:
- Take a shower in the morning and in the evening and use Clearasil (really strong and good stuff) to wash where ever you have the body acne.
- Wear tops that cover a little more. Or when you are wearing a tank top or such have your hair pulled back a little, in a pony tail or some kinda Up-Do
- Change your shampoo and conditioner. No joke, it might help a,lot. It did with me. Because once you use one kind of shampoo/conditioner for an extended period of time. Your hair gets like a oily coating on it. So I've learned that every time i go to buy shampoo and conditioner, I have to buy a different brand than the last two I bought. so I cycle through about five brands.

Good Luck!

PS: I've found that the Clearasil Ultra Acne Clearing Scrub works the best. You can see a result in as little as 3 days.

I got my period a year ago during Thanksgiving Dinner and I've been wearing pads since then. However, summer is coming and all my friends are already using Tampons. There is no way I am going to miss out on swimming during the summer!

So, I was wondering...

Do Tampons hurt? Does it take a while to get used to?

Once you learn to use a tampon correctly you don't feel it when it is in. Its very comfortable. That is one of the reasons there is a TSS warning on the instruction pamphlet in the tampon box, because some women do forget that they have put a tampon in, towards the end of their period and it can result in TSS. (If you want to know what TSS is, feel free to email me)
And yes, it does take one or two times to get use to putting it in, and how to put it in ect. but it is fairly easy.

Well my teeth are not so white , as to what i feel comfortable with. I have a very pretty smile but i feel sort of out of place when i do smile because my teeth are not what i want them to look like . Is there anyway i can make my teeth whiter with out going to the dentist , i heard something about baking soda , but i dont know how to use it with my brush. Help please.

If you don't want to spend any money on whitening strips (which don't work as well as advertised) or on special toothpaste then yes you can use baking soda as well.

Take a plate and put some baking soda on it. (about one to two teaspoon full)

Then take a few drops of water and add it to the baking soda.(you don't want to add too much, you want it to be like a thick paste, but not too little either)

Then you just use your finger and put a thick-ish layer on your top and bottom teeth. (Mind you that this won't taste so great, but after a few minutes you get use to it)

Leave it on for as long as you'd like. (you'll probably want to keep adding a little more to it every now and then, because you will end up swallowing a little bit of it)

It truly does help though. My teeth use to be pretty yellow, but i just did that every night for a few months, and every now and again and my teeth are incredibly white. Just don't expect incredibly noticeable results after the first time you use it.

If you want to use it as a toothpaste as well, just make the paste like i said before, and put it on your tooth brush.

I'm tired of changing clothes and getting "you look pregnant" comments. I gain so much when I'm bloated. How can I fix this? I was thinking of going on another birth control pill. Would that help?

Water does not help. I've been drinking *only* water for 2 years. so seriously, is there some secret out there?

Along with taking the Midol that has the diuretic in it, get one of those Spanx things to wear under your clothes.(You can get them at any store that sells lingerie or type Spanx into the Google search bar) it's pretty tight and kinda looks like bike shorts, but when you are wearing it under your clothes, no body will ever know that you are bloated. It works Magic for me, and makes me feel a lot better when i look in the mirror.

i can not get one in for my life.
i got my period in feb. of last year.
and the summers coming and theres no way i wanna miss out on swimming and stuff. because i cant wear a tampon.
ive tried a million timeess. ughh.

As ridiculous as it sounds, use the directions they have on the sheet that comes in the tampon box. Also remember to relax about it. If you are having difficulty even after than I'd suggest getting tampons that have plastic applicators, like the playtex sports tampons.
It makes a huge difference to me between what kinda applicator i use

on my right side breast is smaller than another side, is that cuz i have a surgey on my right side,(i got them when i was baby) is that make my right side smaller cause i have surgey on it?

and also if i took a pill for breast, it will make my breast bigger and same size or the left size will still bigger than right?

Most women have one larger breast than the other, it's just the way our bodies work, nothing on one side of your body is exactly the same size as the other. It's perfectly normal and okay. The surgery that you had when you were little has nothing to do with it.
As far as taking estrogen pills to increase your breast size, i wouldn't recommend it, it will increase the size of both of them. and it can have negative effects on your body.
