The boy i babysit doesn't like to go to bed either. He says he wants to call his daddy. I usualy just don't mention that it is bedtime and have him hop in bed to watch a movie or tv saying that it would be more comfortable in the bed or under the covers. i also suggest that we could lay down and read a book. This usually helps for me. I hope it helps you

I think you should ask for at leat minimum wage. if they tell you they can't afford to pay you any more, but you can't go without the money, babysit for some other families and see how it goes. does the kid behave better and do they pay more. don't quit without getting out there and seeing what else you can do for the money then tell them you have another babysitting job that is willing to pay more and that you really need the money and your sorry but you are going to have to take that job.
I hope i have helped and not rambled to much nonsense. :)

Q: Okay , so i babysit this sixth grader three days a week. & let me tell ya .. IT IS SOOOOO BORING OVER THERE! All that i ever do is watch t.v., eat, & talk on the phone. Oh yeah ... and i also get on the computer. Any ideas on what else I could do over there? He always goes over to his friends houses all the time , so its not like I can do anything with him. Grrrr , HELPPP!

i would say to tell him that today you would rather him stay at the house but he can have his friend over, but that is only if your up to the challenge of 2 sixth graders which can be a handfull. take homework, a book, some magazines, or some art stff if you are into that or you could go outside and do something, do u have a sport you play you could practice that if they have games and stuff ask him if he wants to stay and play a game board games or sports or cards...any thing
if i were in your situation i would tell him i would rather him stay at the house or have the friend over and you can all play a game but tell him that since he is always at his friends house that you think it would be nice to give his parents a break and invite him over
you get where im going i hope sorry it was so long ♥ hope i was of some sort of help lol

see if ur local hospital has a babysitting class to ofer. they are helpful with the firstaid things and make sure u have a number ofa neighbor a number you can reach the parents. definitely 911. and a poision control center number might be helpful make sure you give them your cell number ( if you have one ) incase you don't want to or feel uncomfortable answering their phone.

Q: Ages of children: (boy)6 (girl)8
My age:14
Entertianing? Cooking?(breakfast and lunch)
any ideas?
|
|
|

for breakfast you can do eggs, toast, pop tarts, cereal, breakfast bars, french toast, oatmeal, with some juice.
for lunch have a picnic in the back yard or on the floor in the kitchen. make sandwhiches and cut them with cookie cutters so they are in neat shapes. you can do mac and cheese, sandwhiches, order pizza, play waiter with lunch and you can take their order and serve them like they are in a restuarant.
entertainment: anything that will wear them out for the night. sports, games, tag, chase, catch, then when it gets dark they are pretty much ready for bed, if they don't want to play out side there's games, board games, crafts, drawing, and always use your imagination and take them on trips places they've never been maybe you can even be pirates look ing for treasure. lol but whatever you do im sure you'll do good. hope this has helped!!! just remember kids that age always want your attention so give it to them.

well you said the kids just sat around and did nothing too, so nect time bring some crafts or games too play. It may not be what you want to be doing, but it will keep both you and the kids entertained for a while.

you should ask for a number whith which you can reach them, give them your cell number(if you have one) ask about allergies. ask them what time they need to be in bed, if they would like for you to answer their phone or just let it ring? always make sure you lockthe doors after the parents leave if they haven't locked them.
hope i have helped

thanks i rate 5's

i think to make a good impression you should try to keep the children happy but don't let them get away with anything. Always clean up the dishes you use to cook the child anything and after they have gone to bed, you can straighten up the play room, or bedroom y'all we're playing in and when they come home have the doors locked. And always be polite and playfull with the kids.
Hope i have helped

i started with people i know pretty well, like neighbors, and if you do a good job babysitting for them they will sugest you to others and eventually you will be babysitting for alot of people. but you can also put up flyers,or post and add in the newspaper.
hope i have helped

Q: Okay, this may not seem like a problem, but I started babysitting for this one family this summer. They have a pretty big house and good jobs, so it's not like they are poor. I think they overpay me though. I know I shouldn't complain, but they paid me $40 for watching a 4-year-old and a nine-year-old from 6-11pm....and they pay me $100 a week to watch the 9-year-old while they are at work during the summer....watching the nine-year-old basically consists of watching tv or watching him play nintendo or watching him fish. it's not a hard job, and I enjoy it...should I say something about the high pay, or just take it as them appreciating me and being nice? I don't want to get more than I deserve....

okay i babysit alot too and that is about what i get paid $8 an hour, which is pretty much average for alot of people. if they ask u how much u usually get pay, then you cn let them know how much you think would be good and reasonable, but if they don't, then they're obviously willing to pay what they do.
I hope my advice helped and good luck figuring out what to do!!!
