I am The Crusader. I'm headstrong. I'm a debater. I'm in High School...but that doesn't make my advice suck. I'm nice...sometimes. I'm opinionated. I'm a feminist, and I'd love to change your mind on exactly what that means. I like you until I'm given a reason not to, and it's very easy to give me a reason not to. I love life.

okay so people say that gay means you like the same sex and others say that it means you are happy what does it really mean? (link)
There are three commonly accepted definitions for "gay."

The "correct" definition is happy. The word gay used to be used just to imply this. If you're reading a book written before the 1960-1970s, generally gay will mean happy.

Gay also means homosexual, as in a person attracted to members of their own gender. It came into circulation as a slang term when homosexuality had to be kept very low-key. It's become a wildly accepted label for alternative sexual orientation.

Finally, gay is used in common slang to mean stupid. Many people (homosexual and not) find this offensive (and I agree with them). Saying "that's so gay" or related things implies that there's something wrong with homosexuality. Taken in context, "that's so black" or "that's so mexican" are incredibly offensive. Using gay to mean stupid is bigoted in the same way...but is somehow more socially acceptable (just like discrimination against gays is more accepted than racial discrimination).

:-) Hope that helped.

do u think its ok for someone who is fourteen to hide a boyfriend from there parents i dont have one yet but in the futrue is it ok because i think my parents dont want me to have one but is it ok because its wut teenages do (link)
It's not 'what teenagers do' so much as it's what some teenagers do. And just because the masses do it doesn't make it okay. Personally, I think that if you're 14 and you want to have a boyfriend that's okay. It's normal at fourteen to be dating. But I think lying to your parents about it will only cause trust issues. If your parents found out it'd be harder for them to let you have a boyfriend the next time and harder for them to trust you when you want to go out with friends ect.
Instead of hiding a boyfriend, I'd suggest first finding a guy you really like and who likes you. Then, as a friend, take him home to meet your parents, maybe with a group of friends. Make sure to establish with your mom and dad that you're mature and responsible. A good way to do this is by doing your homework or cleaning around the house. Then tell your parents you like him and ask if you can date. Be mature about it and don't cry and scream. Parents are much more likely to listen that way.

Hiding a boyfriend is just going to make them trust you less and that's a bad thing and can impede on future plans. If you're just honest and act mature and present your case (I should have a boyfriend because of a, b and c and I can handle it because I can handle a, b and c) you're more likely to get the freedom you deserve--now and later.

Good luck. :-)

ok, i know its really early but i dont want to leave this til last minute...

i don't know what to get my boyfriend for christmas.

backround information: we've been dating for over a year, in december we will have been dating 19 months.
he's getting me a promise ring from james avery...and something else. heard it through the grapevine...and indirectly from him.
we've been through alot together and i want to show him how special he is to me and how much i love him.
we're still in high school so something thats not too hard.
he said all he wants is to spend time with me...so should i plan a day with us just together? and if so...ideas for what we should do? i know it could be a full day because my parents dont really have a problem with him sleeping over at my house....
if i buy him something, what budget should i stay close to? and what should i get?

please help! thanks in advance. :) (link)
What I did for my ex-boyfriend last year was made him a really nice scrapbook. I took a bunch of old pictures and magazines and bought a small 14 page scrapbook, a really nice one with a heart on the front. I cut words out of the magazines to write him notes and letters and pasted pictures of us and him with things like "I want you" ect next to them. I put some on-line comics in there and on the last page put in a handwritten note saying how much me meant to me. He really liked it. It took a long time and a lot of flipping through magazines for words but it was worth it in the end. They come out looking really nice if you put some time and effort into it and it's a really sweet, personalized gift.
You should spend the day with him also, maybe renting a bunch of stupid Christmas movies like A Charlie Brown Christmas or A Christmas Story and watch those and eat popcorn for a while, maybe go ice skating if you do that near where you live, open presents, bake cookies (heh), make out and just spend time with him. I've always found the best days are spent just hanging with someone aimlessly, talking and watching movies.
I wouldn't buy him something. I know that might not make a lot of sense, but I really think making a gift and personalizing it is much better for someone you're close to. Time and effort says "I care" better than anything expensive from the store does.

It sounds like you really care about your boyfriend a lot. :-) I'm glad.

Ok so a little while ago i was brushing my teeth and the thing that connects my wire broke off. Like how its glued and stuff, it just broke off. Im worried because they say it can start decaying really bad or whatever but i wouldnt think it would be that fast or even that part. But i have an orthodontalist appointment on Wednesday so should i just wait until then or have my mother call and ask about it? Thanks. (link)
I MURDERED my braces when I had them. What I always did, and I wrecked basically everything, was have my mom call in and tell them what happened. If it was an emergency, they'd have me come in but for the most part I'd just wait until my next appointment.

You'll be fine.

does anyone know any websites where you can read stories that people have made up? like i know one is quizilla. i really like [teen] love stories and that kind of stuff so if you know anything else like that that would be cool. thanks and i rate only 5's!! (link)
www.fictionpress.com

That's Fiction Press. It's a okay site with fiction from all over. It's the sister site of FFN, or fanfiction.net, which you might enjoy too.

It's not interactive like Quizilla, but you can review authors stories and post your own.

my fingernails are pretty long...but VERY thin! everytime i go to do something they either break or bend easy! i want hard findernails and not for them to bend as easy anymore...does anyone know how i can do this? (link)
You could buy Sally Hansen "Tough as Nails" nailpolish. The polish is supposed to strenghten your nails over a peroid of time.

I'm pretty sure it works because my mom uses it and hardly ever breaks a nail anymore.
