Well I think if you feel like you need to break up with him then just do it and don't worry about 'he might not even go out with me again'. If you really love something let it go and if it comes back it's yours and that's how you know it's for sure.

My boyfriend has smoked cigarettes and gotten drunk just a few times. I hate it SO much! He's only 15 almost 16 years old, why in the hell does he need to smoke? Your not being overprotective. Your just telling him how you feel and he should respect that and if he's not then that means that he doesn't respect you. I would try talking to him one on one and telling him why you feel the way you do and maybe make some agreement that he can like do it everynow and then or something like that. And tell him that you would really apprtiate it if he respected your wishs even just a little, just to know that he cares.
