advice
I have a training schedule that I have to follow this summer in order to be prepared and able to run about 5 miles a day for a sport when school starts in September. For my training, everyday I have to run 1-3 miles depending on the amount of time i have been on the schedule. I haven't started yet, but if i do this all through July and August is there a chance I will be able to slim down my thighs, or will it bulk them up? Thanks!
running breaks down muscle.. it leans them out
lifting high weight for and low reps will bulk them out..
i'm a huge runner/ love track...
so if you don't weight lift or you just do a lot of reps with little weight along with running it will slim them down

what should my weight goal be?
i would really like to be a size M in shirts.
i'm XL now.
advice on how to lose the weight would be helpful too.

i don't know what a healty weight would be for you and i don't want to set that goal.. i think you should just go until you feel comfortable.. i wouldn't try to really think about the goal you want to get it down too but maybe how many pounds you want to a week.
your body is 80% what you eat and 20% how you work out..
so working out is important.. but the main thing is what you eat..
eat things with very low fat calories/ grams of fat.. like 2.5g or less.. and the lower the calories the better too.. becaue if you eat less calories than you burn you loose weight... by all means do not starve yourself or let yourself go hungry becasue you will just screw up your metabolism and make it a lot harder for you to loose weight
but some good foods are like
smart start cereal.. i think its really good
and i like the quaker assorted frute instant oatmeals.. both of these would be great for breakfast w/ skim milk.. yogurt would be good too
eat lots of fruite and vegetables and lean protiens.. but basically don't be afraid to snack becasue that will just make your metabolism go faster and you will be able to burn your food.. and do not eat big meals.. so snack and little meals basically... and drink plenty of water. i find that some of the time i think im hungry i am actually thirsty.. but never eat until you are stuffed.. just eat until you are not hungry.. also try to stay away from all junk food..
but with exercise.. i dont know what you are interested in.. but running is always good and crunches.. anything that would push you and give you a sweat will work.. just try to do it for atleast 30 min a day every day.. and as you get to like it more try to push it up to an hour or two... hope i can help, let me know how things are going :)
Ok so as you all know summer is coming up =) and i found a super cute bikini that im gonna try to look good in. You know them people at the beach who wear them little bikinis and just look awful well i dont wanna be one of them. I'm 5'3 a little less than 110 im thinking. So im not saying im over weight its just my stomach is not toned. Its kind of gross...if i stand up its mostly flat its just kind of is flat | like that then go in / like that you know what i mean well not that drastic but just basically i could be alot skinner and toned. I wanna get like this because i have a hot new boyfriend and i wanna look good when i go to the beach with him. How do i get my stomach looking real good??

basically cut back on junk food (go for a banana) and two... do tons of ab work.... suitcase crunches, crossovers, sissors, leg raises, toe touches, side crunches, figure 8's, two count situps, chinies..... basically buy a med ball maybe a small one and a big one the rubber ones not like a huge thing... and when you do them set a goal ok im going to do 30 (more than you think you want to) or go until you feel a burn and then ten more... i can help you alot (i have a 6 pack and i used to have ur problem) so basically if you dont know how to do any of those examples of sittups i named message me and ill explain... :)
well for me school is in less then a week and a half!! and i kinda got some chub in my tummy not much thou and i would like to either make it solid and fit or loose it would be great! any advice? thankks!!!
well... first when your eating lay off the junk for a while.. skip the cookies and mcd's and eat fruit or something instead and only eat if you are hungry... im not saying starve your self at all.. just dont eat because you are bored.. then do crunches (to the side, suitcase, toe touches, chineys, two count.. etc) do a ton.. like if it starts to burn do 10 more then switch to the other side... also if you get a med ball.. and do sittups w/ one it will work faster.... tell me if i helped (the more sittups you do.. the better 6 pack you will get) (trust me i have one)
Hi, I've read alot of the answers you left people and you sound really into excersizing so I need some tips. I want to lose fat all around my body, but mostly my stomach and thighs. I need an excersizing plan and a diet plan. Please help.
sure... yeah i am.. i love excersizing... k well i dont exactly know what to tell you if you have read the other ones... but heres a run down.. im probably going to sound like a health teacher... but you gain weight because you are taking in more calories than you burn off... so if you want to lose weight.. you want to do the opposite... basically start off by going easy on junk food, and fast food, at first its hard... but after a couple weeks you dont even have an appatite for them.. you get into a habbit of not eating them... thats why i give up frinch fries, soda, and cookies during lint... dont get me wrong its ok to eat some... just not a ton.. and if you do it wont hurt... its just if you do alot.. or on a regular basis... but to make it the easiest on yourself in the long run.. my advise is to completly say no for a couple weeks.. no sneeking.. it makes it harder to give up... thats step 1... now lets talk about fitness... im not too sure what your intrest are.. but the key is to find something you love to do...i play tennis and run... running will give you great legs.. if you run you break down the muscle then you want to lift (lighter weights more reps... ex 30 lbs 20 reps 2 sets) you want to find a weight that it starts getting difficult towards the end... when you lift and run you will get toned legs... if you are not a big one on lifting... dont worry about it... thats just bonus... the stomach i think is the easiest to get under control... when i gain weight it goes straight to my stomach.. so i know how to lose it there too... idk if you have an mc sports or anything like that... but you want to buy a medicine ball... probably one thats 4lbs and one thats 6... i find it the easiest to do sittups while watching tv... but ill tell you a bunch of different sittup excersizes... ones that i think are pretty good.. its going to be hard to explain so bare with me
-- suitcase crunches- bend your knees and hips at 90* angles or a little less so your feet are off the ground.. the crunch your upper body with your hands behind your head so your elbows touch your knees... that pretty much works lower and upper
-- side sittups/ crunches- lay on you side and yeah
-- toe touches- extend your legs straight up in the air and touch your toes.. or you can put a med ball on your forhead and do crunches
--back extentions- you feel like a fish doing this one... but lay on your stomach and arch your back so your feet and head come off the ground... it gives you a sexy back
-- two count sittups- crunch up to a 45 angle and hold it for a sec or two then go up all the way.. hold and slowely lower down
there's a few... basically you can make them up... but keep going when you feel the burn.. like do ten more when you start to feel it, then switch to the other side... basically anything that keeps tention on your abbs will give you a flat tummy/ six pack in no time
also remember to drink lots of water, and stretch.. when you stretch you lengthen your muscles so they will get longer and leaner faster : ) tell me if that helps
Does anyone know of a workout i can do with fun excersizes like riding a bike ...but in a 2 hour time period..But i can do any swimming i hate it, thanks alot XOXOX
i am huge on fitness, i play tennis and run track, basically i love any sport... and no im not a tom boy (even though im a girl)... but something you could try.. might sound a little dorkey... ddr... i tried it around christmas and fell in love with it... and no im not a nerd either.. but when you get good that can give you a workout... have you ever tried rock climbing?... if this was me i would grab my ipod and just run (but i love to run)
