Q: if i go to the gym will i only gain muscle or will i lose weight? how can i do both without looking TOO buff?
you will lose weight especially if you do cardio. Also, if you do some weights, several reps of light ones like 5 or 8 lbs (3-5 times of 10-12 each) you will get toned and muscle burns fat. Don't worry you won't look like a body builder. Think about it, every actress and model goes to the gym, you dont see them looking too too buff normally, right?

Q: I do 25 crunches and 25 push-ups everyday. I plan to do more as I become better at it. I am trying to eat better, also. Is there anything else I should do to lose weight?
also add cardio like running, walking at first if you don't feel great running, biking, hiking, soccer, basketball... get your body moving.

Q: First off I would like to say sorry for posting this more than once, but I need advice again. I think I am a compulsive eater. I can't stop. All I think about while I am eating something, is what else I could be eating. I also do not exersize. I am too lazy and I have no motivation whatsoever. What should I do? Does anyone have any websites? Or tips?

I weigh 225. In the past month I have gained like 20. And that is not healthy. What should I do? I need serious help here. My doctor doesn't want to put me on a serious diet.
I wonder if you are eating to mask something else that is going on? How's work/school? Family? Love life? Often times people overeat for the same reasons they drink too much, or shop until they are broke or even do drugs... its a way of making them feel numb to whatever else is going on. If that is the case, admitting whatever it is to yourself is the first step. There is I think overeaters anonymous, if you google or check your yellow pages to find out. If its that you are just soooo hungry... try drinking more water, sometimes people are more thirsty than they are hungry and don't know it. Also, is there a chance you could be pregnant?

Q: How can i lose weight?!i am 13 female and i weight around 154 pounds!! thats about 50 pounds more than what i want to weigh. any suggestions about how i can diet and exercise to lose like stomach fat or leg fat. how can i eat a better diet? i need to lose weight because i get picked on at school a lot and i dont want that to happen anymore. The other two are right no junk food- because it is just that, junk. Why put bad things in your body that are filled with carbs and sodium that will only want to make you eat more later. Portion size and diet is very important as is writing it down.
In the morning have something like eggs or real oatmeal. No sugary cereals or pop tarts or anything like that. Its fattening and will make you hungry before 10am.
Snack have an apple or another piece of fruit. Lunch have something normal like a sandwich on whole grain bread or a salad, with a side of veggies or fruit or nuts.
Snack nuts, fruit or veggies.
A normal dinner, but don't overdo it on pasta or potatoes or cheese but you can have some of that.
Also drink a ton of water.
Then write everything down. You will have a better account of what you eat and will be more mindful if you slip up and remind you of the diet.
As for working out, play outside, do sports, anything cardio or anything that has to do with weights are great for you.. as is pilates or yoga.

Pilates is the best for abs.

Q: 13/f. I recently asked a question concering weight loss sites. Now I am asking for help again. I want to lose 10 pounds by the end of the month. I am currently 5'0 and weigh 130 pounds. I play field hockey 5 days a week for 1 1/2-2 hours. I also cheerlead for 3-4 days a week for two hours. With that being said about how many calories should I take in a day?
My hunch is that you probably drink a lot of sports drinks at games and practice, many of which are just LOADED with sugar. Switch to water or low-cal low-sugar drinks. Also, for me, when I first started working out I thought that entitled me to eat whatever I felt like. Not True! Make sure you have lots of vegetables, proteins (like chicken or fish) and no cookies or chips. Try not to look at it like a crash diet but a change in your life that you can keep forever.
