My name's Amanda and I'm 15 years old and from New York. I play basketball, dance, and act. I also am learning to play the guitar which I think is really cool and it's really fun. One day I would also like to learn how to surf. On my free time I like to write songs. I also love to give advice and that's why I signed up here at advicenators.com. People always come up to me, especially my friends, asking for advice so I guess I'm pretty good at giving it. I even write for an advice column on my school's newspaper. I think people like getting advice for me because I'm real and I just tell it like it is.

Does anyone have any tips on how to really project through an entire auditorium while you're singing? (link)

Take big breaths and use your diaphram muscles to project your voice. If you're singing, I'm assuming you've been properly trained on how to use your voice. If you haven't been properly trained then I suggest doing some breathing exercises. A good exercise that I always do is I place my hands on my waist, fingers pointing towards my toes, I breath in and fill up my entire lungs with air and then breath out slowly counting to five. Do this about 10 to 20 times and then work your way up to more. A good warmup is key. Also, just feel the song you're singing. I find when I'm into the music, I do better. Hope I helped!

I don't wanna sound cocky by this, but I wanna make the big time. And I know I have the voice for it too. My friends, family, everyone tells me that I have a fabulous voice and need to be revealed to the public. I've been doing everything musical for my school, community, and town. For example, talent shows, school plays/musicals, taking vocal lessons, in region chorus. But my question is, how can I, a fourteen-year-old from NJ, make it in the music bizz? please help me... i'll rate fast..thanks

Hey Laur,
I have friends in the entertainment buisness and I'm also trying to breakout myself. The best thing I think for you, since you're still very young, is just keep perfecting your singing and keep putting yourself out there. Many kids think that because they weren't child stars they can't make something out of themseleves but that's soo not true. Don't rush your career. Just keep putting yourself out there at whatever chance you get. If some owners of a store ask you to sing at their grand-opening, do it! If you get asked to sing the national anthem at a local baseball game, do it!! You should also ask your vocal coach about making a demo. I'm sure he or she will know some people to contact who can help produce it. A demo is basically a collection of songs on a CD that showcases your voice which you send out to different record companies and such. I could rant and rave for hours about how to get yourself out there but I won't. Instead I have an excellent site that many people have found useful. Go to www.vocalist.org.uk. They have a lot of amazing tips that really help!! I hope I helped and as I've said before GET YOURSELF OUT THERE!!! I can't stress how exposure is sooo important. I hope one day you'll get your big break and I'll keep my eye out for ya!
