~A little Advice for the broken hearts~
You are afraid and hurt and you dont know what to do. You feel empty and alone, like the whole world has just ended. You have a hole in your heart one that feels like it can never be repaired, but just know that in time that hole will be gone. Getting your heart broken is like getting a deep cut. It hurts really bad, and no matter what you do you cant stop thinking about it because you know its there and its hurting, but with a few stitches and a little tlc (friends and family helping you through) and some antibiotic ointment (ice cream) soon that cut will only be a scar (a memory) it will always be there but it wont hurt anymore, you are strong and you can make it through this!!
advice
Let me just start out by saying, I am a firm believer in God. He is my life, and I love him so much. :D But, you see, I was raised in a Christian household. I grew up being told that Jesus was my savior, and God was my Father. I never questioned anything. Until now. I am known amongst my friends as the religious one, the one they know to NEVER offer a drink or cigarette to. Ever. ;D I have strong ideals of what is right and wrong, and a strong conscience, of which I believe to be God guiding me. So being known as that person, my friend not long ago once came to me with a dilemma, asking me all these questions about Jesus, God, etc. I had not the slightest clue of how to answer. All my faith in Him wasn't born, it was always there. I hadn't been convinced of his presence. There was never any question. So therefore, I have no facts or anything. No shield against the questions of curious people! I only have/need love, and feelings of His presence to convince me. You can't really debate with feelings, lol. Anyway, I've recently realized; All these years of just assuming and stuff, and only dealing with God, I have no idea what the Holy Spirit is! I also have no relationship with Jesus. Which has made me realize: I'm a lukewarm. I'm a poser. I've gone through my life believing I was a true christian, and now it's sorta hit me like a ton of bricks. So after all those words, here's my question: How are all three really connected? Are Jesus and God the same thing? But, why did Jesus refer to God as "The Father" if he WAS God? If they're all the same thing, what's the point of having three different things? I'm so confused. I pray to God like he's my best friend, and my dad. We're pretty tight. But when it comes to Jesus... I don't understand! When I pray to God, am I praying to Jesus too? But the Bible says if I don't know Jesus, I might as well not know God. So according to the Bible, it doesn't matter that I trust and believe in God as much as I do if I don't have a relationship with Jesus? I mean I know Christ is the only way but... UGH. -Face/palm- I've looked it up on Google, The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit thing? But I've only gotten either huge, complicated answers, or useless historical answers. I've prayed to God about it, and I think Advicenators is where He's telling me to go to. I need a human to human ANSWER, ya know, that ANSWERS my question? So can someone simply answer my questions without any unnecessary crap or anything, like stupid Wikipedia? LOL. Thank you, my sanity depends on you! OH, side question, when I'm worshiping God in song, this unknown wave of emotion flows in my chest, and all my questions fade away, and it's as if He's looking down on me, and it's calm and serene... Is this rational, and normal? My brain's not making that up, is it? xDDD!
I believe in God, love God and I am a Christian but I am still learning a lot on this... this question I over looked at first and was not going to answer because I didnt know the answer myself but it drove me crazy I couldnt get it out of my mind and I talked to my best friend who is a pastor and asked him about this... and I figured now that I have some information I will share with you... First question... What is the Holy Spirit... from what I was told the Holy Spirt lives inside you when you get saved and he guides you like becomes your conscience (like your own personal Jiminy Cricket, we used as an example) He guides you and lets you know if you done something that you need to pray about and also kind of tells you what you need to pray about... How are all three connected? Well you have the Father the Son and the Holy spirit... they are not one person but they are all the same God... I know what you are thinking here "HUH?" same thing I thought... but I am going to use an example this is what my friend used to help me understand.... Think of an egg there are three parts you have the yolk, the whites, and the shell.. all three very different things and sometimes needed individually for different recipes or taks, but all grouped together in one name "egg"... the way I found it easy to think of is they are like a family a family of only 3.... You have God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit... All three different people but of the same last name (God... but meaning this as they are all God with the same power) and your next question was answered with that... Remember in Genesis when God the Father said let US make man is OUR image, its not that He has multiple personalities, its that He was talking to The Son and the Holy Spirit... Jesus (THE SON), God the Fater, and the Holy spirit are all God they all have the same equal power, so when Jesus refered to God as the Fahter it was because 1 he was his father, as is all of ours, and also because that is what he is he is God the Father, he was talking directy to God the Father...
Now when you pray to God you are supposed to be praying to God the Father, so no you are not praying to God in fact my friend said we are not supposed to pray to Jesus, we thank Jesus for what he did but we pray to God the Father...
You have a relationship with Jesus by knowing what he did on the cross to save us from our sins and by being thankful to him for paying OUR (not his) debts... Jesus is your ticket to The Father, with out him we dont get to talk to God the Father... the only way we can have a realtionship with God the Father is by having a relationship with Jesus and you have the relationship with Jesus by knowing and accepting and being thankful for what he did on the cross and asking him into your heart and being saved... Remember the story of moses, the part where the angel of death claimed all the lives of the first born? The angel did not enter the homes that had the blood of the lamb on the door because this meant they were in a way saved.... We dont have to sacrifice animals anymore because sadly Jesus was sacrificed to save us, we no longer have to go to hell because of Jesus... he gave us a great gift... think of him like the blood of the lamb on the doors... His blood is on our hearts and we are saved from hell... And yes the same thing happens to me when I sing to God... I feel relief, this is the Holy spirit inside you saying its okay, we got this, I am here with you! I hope I helped as much as my friend helped me... keep faith and love God... good luck best wishes and God bless you!
(Rating: 5) Thank you very much, you explained it in a way that I could actually UNDERSTAND. The egg thing helped immensely. 8D A big thank you to your pastor friend too. You have no idea how relieved I am now. -3-! You rock, God bless!
