I dont want to break up with my girlfriend, because I dont want to be known as the jerk by all of her friends. To prevent this, how do I get my girlfriend to break up with me?
If you keep doing things to get her to break up with you, chances are you'll still be known as the jerk by all of her friends, because they're her friends. They're going to be there for her when she's down, & they won't put the blame on her. Yeah, it might suck, but it's a girl thing, I guess. My friends are the same way. When you two break up, chances are they'll all be talking about how much of a jerk you are, regardless of how the relationship ended.
Just be straight forward with her. Tell her that you don't think your relationship is working out, & it might be best to break up. If her friends think you're a jerk, so what. Other people's opinions shouldn't be that important.
