I recently tried out for a Soccer team and its a club. So theres girls there who are from all over the state. Well the team I made is pretty good. I only know 1 person on that team and she's from the same city as me. We're pretty good friends but not like best friends or anything. During soccer though, we hang out a lot. Well our first practice was on sunday and I noticed that my friend (we will call her Emily) knew a lot of the girls there. So she was talking to them and I though "oh, ok so she knows them." so I let her talk to them thinking that she will come and talk to me soon. Nope! boy was i wrong. She was always hanging out with them and I felt really alone. I know your probably telling me to talk to other girls there but they know all of each other. It seems like i'm the only on on my team who doesn't have a friend.
I dont know what to do! we do alot of parter things and i'm always the last one who has to raise my hand and say "who doesn't have a partner?" and i'm stuck with the person who doesn't get her friend as a partner. all i'm saying is that it really makes me sad that my friend wont be around me anymore and that when I try to be nice to these girls and get them to be my friend, they already have a friend and wont include me in their group.
Also, some of these girls are pretty popular so they have tons of friends. lets just say i'm not the sociable type and not outgoing. So it would be pretty weird if this shy girl (me) went up to these really energetic outgoing girls and talked to them.

Well if you want to be their friend then, well, thats what you are gonna have to do. Go up and talk to them. I am also shy and also not very outgoing but I made my friends when I came to my new school and without me going up and doing something about it I wouldn't have any friends. If you talk to them and they just ignore you or give you that weird look theres nothing much you can do but be nice to them and have as much fun as you can in soccer. You still have your friend from the same city. Talk to her about it and have her introduce you to her friends. I hope everything goes well for you!
