I really need to start taking my own advice.

This is the deal; I'm a prep.
Flat out, okay... but, in my school prep's are targeted. BIG TIME. Teachers make us write papers on how bad cliques are, and in class room meetings we disucuss the groups and every time people bring up prep and look at me. I have a certain group of friends and I sit with them, but i get along with almost anyone. Just beacuse someone has on all black and chains comming off their pants doesn't mean i hate them... I DONT ! BUT EVERYONE THINKS THAT?
Is anyone out there non-prep can you explain to me why people would assume that? they dont even know me.. and its not that im mean or stuck up in any way.

I'm not exactly Anti-Prep.
I wear Hollister, I say 'like' too much,
and I'm a cheerleader, so I can't exactly
go off about how stupid preps are.

But our world thinks so lowly of preps
because of what's written in books and
shown on tv. There's really not a whole lot
you can do to change peoples assumptions.

However, I can happily say I'm not
judged as much as most people usually would.
This is only because I let people
get to know me. I say hi to everyone in
the hall, I always ask people how they are.

When I first started middle school,
believe me, people gave me the cold shoulder
when I walked around school with a hoodie
that says "CHEER" on it. Even one girl that
hated me more then anything for my cheer
sweatshirt, I can proudly say now she is my
very best friend.

So, with all that, there's not much
you can do other then to stand up for
yourself. If your teacher tells you to
write about cliques, turn the assignment
around. Write about how unfair it is to
pre-judge people, and not just emo or
gothic people, preps as well. Be specific
and yuo can even personalize it with
your own expierences.

Other then that, keep it happy.
Smile, talk to other people, hey you
never know, you two could end up being
best friends one day too.
