The name is Leah. I live in Cincinnati, OH. I really love to give advice! I have been here since November of 2004. But prior to joining here, I was always been seeked for advice. Still to this day, my primary concern is always helping someone out in need.

I am likely not the best columnist here, but I can quarantee I am very dedicated and concerned when I answer a question. If I answer a question you're not satisfied with, I will ask why, so I can try my best to change my answer. I only give people information that I know; not information that I might know. And if I notice a columnist giving you a wrong answer, you'll know I'll be correcting their response!!

I do allow everyone and anyone to ask a question. I may have listed favorite categories, but I really have no preference. I do love making new friends!! It's no problem to contact me by e-mail or IM. So i like this guy and he is like my best friend. we tell tell him like everything and i would trust him with my life, but i am afraid to tell him that i like him because i think he might freak out or not like me in return. I'm scared that he will not feel the same about me. He has been singal and i dont think i will lose my chance but i dont really want to ruin a good friend ship. No one in the world knows i like him and if they did they would probably not aprove of us going out, and i have always lied and told him that we are just friend and that it would not be right if we went out, if people had ever said anything about us going out, and he has always agreed. He is not the hottest boy and he can be quiet a nerd. But he is so sweet and just an asome friend. Do you think i should tell him, and if so how?

This is hard, but does he ever drop hints he may be interested? Like does he say anything like, "what would happen if we went out?" or "have you ever thought about going out with me?" If so, he might be interested in taking things to the next level. Getting hints could make the decision easier. But if he is completely closed on dropping hints or showing any emotion other than friendship stuff, then he could be shy or just uninterested.

If you two were really good friends, if you did ask, no matter what his response is, he should still be a good friend to you, and not be upset, because that would be a real friend. Whether he said no or yes, he shouldn't get upset for you asking.

Also, if you feel strongly confident that there is something more there than friendship, then there most likely is. Try privately asking him if he has feelings for you. You could say "Well, we have been friends for such awhile but it feels like there may be more than that there...what do you think?" If he shrugs or looks unsure, he just may not know what to say back. But if he answers the question, then that could give you the hint what he thinks. If he says yes, then ask him out. If no, ask him why. Then tell him your feelings.

It is hard to tell someone how you feel, but the only way to know for sure is if you give it a try. Just a reminder that if he was a good friend, he would accept you no matter what you think or he thinks.

Also, don't let the world stop you from going out with him. When people realize you are in love, they'll accept it, but they may feel that way because they couldn't imagine of you two dating. But right now don't care about them. Just confront your friend how you feel. But let make sure he'll be your friend no matter what the question is or the responses.
