14/f my best guy friend asked me out today, but i said no because i really don't like him like that (he's like a brother to me), plus he dumped his girlfriend so that he could ask me out! so even if i did go out with him, how do i know that he won't do that to me if he sees another girl that he likes better. i really want him the remain my best guy friend because, like i said he's like my brother and i don't know what i'd do without him, so how do i keep our friendship alive when it is bound to be akward?

You have to step up in this case.
I've been in this sitch. before, its not
easy.

First off, be brutually honest.
Let him know you have no feelings for
him in that way, he's simply a best friend.
Let him know he's free to ask his
old girlfriend out again since you're not
interested.

Here comes the hard part;
Act like everythings totally normal.
Go about talking to him as you normally
would, if you two hang out alot, keep doing
that. Soon enough he'll realize you're willing
to put this whole incident behind him and
you two will get back to being good friends
again. Be sure to keep acting normal
immediatley, the longer you wait the harder
and more awkward it will get.
