Okay, this is kind of weird for me, but I want/need help...I'm in this after school women's ensemble, and we're singing this piece, Unchained Melody. I love the song. It's pretty, it's fun to sing, and it has meaning - but that's the problem. For some reason, it really strikes a chord, and I've never been able to sing through it without crying. Obviously you can't sing when you cry because your throat tightens up. I do have the option of telling our director that I can't sing the piece, but I don't want to do that because I like it. I can't just sing it flatly without emotion because that's just...bad. Anyone have any ideas as to how to fix this, or help me in any way? (link)

Hi Sweetie,
Have you "comfronted" this fear? Ways to do this is talking to your friends openly about this AND your boyfriend. Talk to him about the song (it IS cute by the way, heard it many times myself) and WHY it makes you feel the way it does.
Sing the song out loud (but kind of to yourself... dont make a broadway show on the bus stop) for practice.
I'm sorry I don't recall ever being in the situation myself. Good luck! ...I mean, break a leg :-) Best wishes! ~Blessed Be...

Everyone knows the separation possibility is driving me nuts...the whole "the song making me cry" thing is really embarrassing, is the problem, and I've already ended up crying to him more than I wanted to, lol. Thanks. =)
