Listen I'm 14 years old and I am above the 9th grade level in my reading and writing but i'm home schooled and so I have tought myself pretty much everything that I know. (I posted a question about not having an education on here before) Well I really want to be a Pastry Chef. (Yes there is a difference between a Pastry chef and a Chef.) But I'm not sure what kind of grades I need to get into a Culinary School. I know that my reading and writing really doesn't count but I don't know what kind of grades I need. Like do i need to have more than just good grades to be a pastry chef? I really love baking and baking anything that is like for dessert or sweets. Get the idea. I am really good at it too. I want to go to college to become a Pastry Chef and then get my own business and sell desserts/sweets. I want to call it "lil' bare's Pastry's"
So really any advice would be appreciated.

I would say get on the net, or go down to your local libary and reserch what collage/ unis teach patsry, baking and confectionary. Then you need to write off to said institutions and explain your situation and ask what they would be looking for grade and portfolio -wise. I would also look into doing buisness studies if you want your own, and not just to work for someone else.
(Rating: 4) thank you I didn't think of that!
