okay so my friends are all getting into the freak dancing thing but im not so into that. how do i dance w/ my friends and still look hot w/o getting to into that kind of stuff? no grinding or any of that. im a good dancer if that helps! 13/F
my advice is simple. just be yourself. if you dont wanna look cheesy or like a slut then just dance the way you want to. watch some dance exercise tapes and try not to look to nervous. if you need anything else, e-mail me! dance because you like to, not because somebody wants you to.

I'm allergic to every type of deoderant i've ever tried. I've seriously tried everything available at stores (like walmart) Including men's! my mom just bought me some thats supposed to be all natural and hypo-allergenic.. but it made it worse.
I have this horrible rash on my armpit from it that hurts and looks kinda gross.
Is there anything a doctor could prescibe or that i can get myself to stop this irritation!?

hey everyone! i have a problem. I pretty sure that some girls in my school think im a slut. I DO NOT do any slutty things at ALL...but these girls are kindof immature like that. I mean, i was at a birthday party and we went to the movies. My friend whom i kind of like, put his arm around me and i put my head on his shouldler. Then later i danced with him a bit. THAT WAS ALL!! i do not see whats so slutty about that. I dont know how im sopposed convince my friends that im not a slut! Its not even me, its them! I really dont want them to think of me as a slut because im not. I did talk to them about it, but im sure that there is doubt in thweir minds. Please, how do i convince them?
ask them 'how am i a slut' and when they say all the stuff you mentioned tell them the real reason and the real thing that happened.

MY MOM. grr. she tells me I can switch schools, & then makes these excuses like.. "Well.. lets think about it.. isn't there someone else you can hang out with" & im like omgg. grr. ITS SO ANNOYING. How can I convince my mom to let me out? She keeps telling me how.. 'she hung out with the mean girls & she dealt with it, & it wasnt that bad' but my mom was one of them. & that just isn't mean. I'm not some little stuck up.

Hey. I've been reading your column lately and I like the way you give advice. I need you to help me out with something.
I really like this guy Jake, right? I'm 14 and he's 14 & he's in a few of my classes. Football player, hockey player, honor roll...perfect. We're friends & talk all the time, but we don't hang out one-on-one because I'm not as physically attractive as his past girlfriends.
I like him a lot, and I'd like him to ask me out, but I'm what my school would call fat-a size six. I know, I know. Fat. But is there a way that I can act, or something I can do, or say, or change my look, to make him like me as more than a friend?

13/f. My mom brought me to her hairdresser saying how great she is. Well I've always wanted my hair down to my elbows but someone ALWAYS talks me into cutting it differently so I've NEVER had hair and longer past the sleeves on a short sleeve shirt. And I had sidebangs also, and my hair looked fine the awy it was.
Then she cuts my bangs across my forehead!! Relaly short! And she angled my hair and it looks TERRIBLE. My hair isnt even past my SHOULDERs now.
Everytime I look in the mirror I start crying, And I cant believe I let my mom talk me into this. I'm crying as I type this, I hate my hair so much. I can only wear my hair with a headband because I can't even pull it into a ponytail. And it looks horrible with nothing in it.
I donteven want to look at my self, I'm completely disgusted with it.
I dont even want to go to school tomorrow. Because some of my friends insult everything I do, so I try to avoid them but they still manage to insult me. I dont know what to do.
I need to know how to get myhair to grow FAST also. It cant be a ponytail because my hair doesnt work with a ponytail right now.Any shampoos that work REALLY WELL PLEASEE give me the name and where to get it. I want to get it today if possible, so nothing i have to order on the internet. I wanna start using it as soon as possible
well i would straighten my hair everyday and i would take a clip and put my bangs to the side and clip them. or you can take your bangs and put them right in the middle of your head. if it doesn't look right then get some of your other hair and put them together. my friend had really short hair but she put them in 2 low pink tales. now all the hair growing products i used never works so i am not even gonna bother with that...laugh out loud!
try and buy hoodies! cover up your head so no one can see your hair.
first of all, show it to your best friend and ask him/her if him/her likes it and they have to be honest. if they say no procede with these instructions.

So I like this guy sooo much!! And He finally asked me out.. I was about to say yes, cause he is like my dream guy, but i remembered that my mom wont let me go out with anyone. I really like him and all of his friends, and him have told me that he likes me back, but my mom won;t let me go out with anyone period!!

I strained a muscle in my foot a few months ago.
(The muscle that runs on the top of your foot into the big toe) And a couple of days ago
it started hurting pretty bad again. Now when
I move my toes up and down, the muscle feels
like two pieces of rubber rubbing against
each other. It even makes a week squeeking,
vibrating feeling. My dad felt it and thought
nothing of it. But its worrying me, what could
it be?
well i'm no doctor but i would say ice it and keep you foot elevated and dont walk on that foot. try and get some crutches.

if anyone reads seventeen magazine.. you'll know what i'm talking about. in the february issue, on page 29 there is an article thing about hot bargains.. and in the top left corner there is a necklace and its $10 and you can get it at Nordstrom but it's made by Kool Konnections.. it's a silver chain with a black heart and i loooove the necklace! So i went on the nordstrom.com website as well as the koolkonnections.com website and i can't find it! it's driving me crazyyyyyy so if anyone could find the link or something i'd appreciate it sososososososososo muchhh! thanksssss!

i have been goin out wif this guy for nearly a month now and at the start was great but now its starting to get boring but he started to get on my nerves and i was ready to dump him. have fun with it. try and make him wait for a kiss. and just talk to him like he's one of your girl friends. out of no where come up to him and kiss him and play like 4 year olds. play hide and go seek and stuff like that. you'll have a blast! and it'll bring up memories. every once and a while have a picnic and just talk about life. be sure to have lots of eye contact and laugh!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am over 2 years older then my sister but everybody seems to think she is older than me! It bugs me so much (she has bigger boobs then me, but I am happy with my boob size)but I am not sure what other reasons people think this. I take care of myself really well (I dress nicely, do my makeup nicely, take good care of my hair, etc.) yet for some reason I look younger then my younger sister & I want to look older!! What can I do to make myself appear to be older, like I really am? And please don't say anything about it being good that I look younger, all I want to know is why they think she looks older & WHAT I CAN DO TO MAKE MYSELF LOOK OLDER THEN HER! Thank you!

tips:
1. You can still wear those brightly colored clothing but look at the fit and the style of it. If your style is more funky or wild though, wear sophisticated things, and wear a piece that is a little more funny or wild, for example, big sunglasses, kitten heels, crazy tie, etc.
2. Wear more tailored clothing, more put together.
3. Avoid crazy hair colors like pink and blue. Try more natural colors if you're the type who likes colored hair. The crazier colors make you look more immature and kid-like.
4. When meeting new people shake their hand. A solid grip, but not too hard, two pumps of the hand and let go. Don't look at your hands, look at their face. When speaking to someone, look at them.
5. Avoid interrupting people during conversation, people find this irritating.
6. Don't play with things, look away, or squirm around.
7. Listen, slightly nod, and say little things like, "Oh, yes," to let them know you are listening
8. When you speak, use facial expressions and be funny as usual, but be more serious in conversation.
9. Mature people can be helpful too. Hold doors, help pick things up, offer help and assistance when needed.
10. Use manners, but don't act too proper or people will think you are too sophisticated and inflexible or "down to earth" and won't feel comfortable around you.

umm so my parents got me tutors for geometry, spanish, and science because last year i didn't do good so thats why.. but i hate having tutors because they come early in the morning to tutor me. its soo unfair because its like if i don't have a tutor i'll fail. i've tried to prove to my parents i don't need soo many tutors but it doesn't work what should i do?
