Hello, my best friend is really depressed a lot. She writes all these depressing poetry, songs, and she cuts herself. I have seen the marks, and I'm really concered about her. I've heard about her life and she really hasn't had a good life. I try to get her to stop but she can't do it. But the thing is, when she's not depressed, she seems like a really happy kid. But then later, she gets depressed, suicidal, and all these other feelings that kids her age shouldn't even think about! (She's only 12, turning 13 in August.) What should I do to get her to stop?

Im currently falling in love with my friends sister... I currently see her fequently, I sleep over hers and my friends house last weekend, and everytime I go over I always do the common flirting here and there. I asked her out a couple times but all I get is the common "I dont know." or "Mybe". She said to me she isnt ready to date anyone and probally wont ever for a loooong time. Her ex cheated on her and it was a big thing. So, basically I dont know if she likes me at all, but I really like her. In fact I cant stop thinking about her. Anywho, I guess the question is how can I get her out of this phase she is going through, how can I tell if she likes me or not, and finally she I just drop her which would be really hard for me, but mybe its best for her? I need opinions...
