so i have herd alot of ppl saying that what you eat will effect your acne alot.
like if u eat fatty foods your acne will get alot worse.
is this true?
the same way that what you eat will affect the way you act, it does affect your face. for instance, if you eat a lot of sugar and caffeine, it will make you stay up longer and be more "productive" (my friends eat skittles when they're doing homework), but then you completely crash and feel like crap. so, eating things that are bad for you affect the way you act, and they make your face break out. because it affects chemicals in your body when you have any type of overload on any food, which makes your face get all out of whack. my face got a lot better when i quit drinking soft drinks, for instance. also, it's been proven that people who drink 8 glasses of water a day generally have better control over their acne than people who don't. it depends from person to person on the food thing, though. some people can eat whatever they want and it doesn't affect their acne, some people have a strict diet and they still have bad acne. my friend is very picky about what she eats, and her main food groups are reese's peanut butter cups and poptarts. and you can tell by her face, even though she's on acne medication. the best thing to do is just try it out for a couple of weeks. start drinking water instead of soft drinks first because i've found that makes the biggest difference.
I have been with my current girlfriend for almost 2 years and im 100% sure she's "The One". We have had plans to move in together when she finishes High School soon. We want to live in Texas because we both think it would be the best place for "US". Then in the last few months she has started to want "US" to live in Pennsylvania in an aprtment around her mom for 2 years then move to Texas. She's starting to go threw that point where every parent and child starts to relize they arent children anymore. She think's that waiting 2 more years will make it less hard to leave her mom. I have explained to her that it wont no matter how long she waits it's still gonna be hard for anyones parent no matter how long you wait. I think the best thing to do would be get it over with now itstead and be over it 2 years from now instead of wasting time to find out it wont be easier in 2 years. So in simple words she wants to live in Texas no matter what but she wants to live in Pennsylvania for 2 years. We have made a budget together to workout the figures and the budget shows we wont be able to live 2 years in Pennsylvania then move to Texas. So what should i do?!?!?
okay, here's a little tip that i've picked up over the years. i have a lot of friends that have graduated from high school and gone to college. the thing is... if you don't get out of the vicinity soon and go to a place far away, you will come back. that's just how it works, and i'm not sure why. i can't go to a mexican restaurant here without seeing people that graduated 3 years ago working there. and all those people end up going back home to their parents' houses. i think you're right in wanting to get away fast. because if you don't leave right then, then what's the point of leaving in the first place? her mom's going to have a tough time with her leaving no matter when she does it. that's just how moms are. i'm guessing you live in pennsylvania right now... why can't she just enjoy living there now and then move to texas when she gets out of high school? by the way, have you all ever been to texas? i live there (or here, however you want to put it). it's a culture shock from pennsylvania, but the people are a lot nicer i think. leave one in my inbox if you want to know anything about tx :)
Ok so you know how people say that everything means something wel when you drop something and a guys picks it up for you does it mean anything cause i dont think it does but my friends keeps saying it does
it just means that he's polite... i mean, if somebody drops something, i pick it up for him. it would be rude if he just sat there and looked at it while you were picking it up. and polite guys are good :)
I wrote a letter to his parents, and they emailed me and thanked me and said I could come by and bring friends to their house sometime, I want to bring them flowers or something, whats something I could make or buy for the, to show that they mean a lot and they've been on our hearts and minds a lot?
I'm sorry if this is a dumb question but we dont know what to do.
one of my friends passed away recently. this is what we did:
some kids (i helped a little bit) got some of the projects that she had done that year and made a poster out of it. we used pictures of her that were in the yearbook.
a lot of people sent them flowers, or sent donations to a special account set up for her to help pay off the medical bills, and maybe pay for her little brother's college.
a lot of people made different little posters and stuff, or sent pictures, of her.
in english class, our teacher gave us a free period when we could write letters to her family.
we bought a star and named it after her and gave the framed certificate to her family.
since i did yearbook, we dedicated a page to her. also, i bought a yearbook for her family and had all of her friends sign it. it was so amazing... the pages were all filled up with messages. then i gave the book to her family.
we are going to have a balloon release at her grave on her next birthday.
there was a memorial service at school.
in every class for a few weeks, there was a bouquet of flowers in her empty seat.
that's basically what we've done, i hope you can get some ideas from it. also, if your friend was on any teams or anything, get them involved in something. i'm sure everybody would be willing. my friend was in a lot of different organizations and everybody really reached out.
For an independent reading assignment for school, I am allowed to pick any type of book (fiction, nonfiction, autobiography, short stories, poems etc)
However, it has to be a book either written during the 1900's-1930's or the plot has to take place or deal with something that occured during the 1900's-1930's
Any good suggestions?
ps- high school reading level please.
"to kill a mockingbird" is a very good book that takes place around that time. also, i've never read this book, but "the great gatsby" is set in 1922 in new york. here's the wikipedia article about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Great_Gatsby
what is it?? like ive heard of thme but what are they??
well, as other people have said, it's generally a white tank top (guys wear them as undershirts sometimes) and they are made for girls in cute colors and stuff. but the reason that they are called wife beaters is that... without being offensive to anybody, let's just picture a guy who lives in a trailer park and beats his wife. what kind of shirt does he wear? that ratty old white tank top with a stain on it. so that's why it's called a wifebeater :) there are really cute ones for girls at delia's.
Like He would
For the good
who's He? why is it in capital?
well, i guess depending on the context, it could be different, but generally when somebody capitalizes He or Him they mean God.
okay so i'm getting ceramic braces in like 3 weeks..and my mom was telling me theres a chance i will have to wear the headgear/neckgear thing...will i?? i know some people get to choose if they want to wear it at day or night..
but will i have to wear it in the day like during school?
that is extraordinarily rare to have to wear it any time other than night. i mean, you would have to get hit by a train and have teeth sticking out of the top of your head before you would have to wear it during the day. also, you might not even have to wear headgear. i didn't for a long time. actually, i had braces twice, and i only had to wear it the first time i had braces. after that i had rubber bands (which, also, only at night). basically the only thing you will have to wear during the day is your actual braces. don't worry, you won't have to wear anything weird at school :) you might not even have to wear anything weird at home, depending on your overbite/underbite situation. i hope i helped :)
how do you make cleaning your room fun?
here are things that make it really fun: drinking a lot of coffee or other caffeine products beforehand, listening to music, singing, dancing, and having a friend come over. and if you have a friend come over, be like, "ok, you don't have to do anything but sit on my bed, but make sure that i don't get distracted and make me finish cleaning!" it works for me. actually, one time my sister got tired of my room being so messy and my parents were gone that night, so she wouldn't let me eat dinner until i had finished it. that's incentive if i've ever heard of it!
How do you prounonce Aeropostale? Everyone says it differently...
Thanks (14/f)
i say AIR-OH-PUH-STAHL. i put the emphasis on the last syllable. my friend says AIR-O-POSTAL (like the postal service) and she sounds dumb when she says that because she puts the emphasis on the POST.
ok tonight, sep. 15, is my high skool's homecomin dance, and it's a casual dance u see i want to wear my pink tank top w/ shorts and flip flops, but i also want to wear my brown strapless dress which goes up to my middle thigh and high heels
i cant make up my mind and either way i dress ill fit in with my friends cauz half of them are wearin dresses and the other half are wearin tanktops w/ jeans
what should i wear?!
i think that you should wear the dress because you probably won't get to wear it as often as the tank top and shorts. but can you dance in high heels? i think that would be the only problem. normally at dances i just take my shoes off, or bring an extra pair of flip flops. the dress sounds pretty!
Hey i need a big list of all the facebook apps or at least a lot of them, or is there a site where theres a lot of them. thanks in advance. XD
you go to facebook and click on applications. click browse applications. click all (on the right). it gives you a big list. simple. and you could have figured that out by actually looking on facebook or using this awesome thing called google.
Texas Christian University - I've sewen the website, I've done the research. Now I need real life experience - do you know anyone who's been there? Do you go there? Anything i should know? Do you like it? Do you know anyone who doesn't like it - why?? Is it a good school academically? What about social stuff? Is it hard to get in? What kina GPA & SAT scores do I need? What do they want to see on an application form??
THANK YOU FOR ANY INFORMATION YOU'VE GOT!
collegeboard.com has a lot of info about any college ever. it tells you everything from sat scores to how big the school is to tuition.
My videos won't upload on Windows Movie Maker because they are .mov files. I tried converting them to .wmv files and it worked fine but I found out that it only converted HALF of the video so my 1 minute movie stopped after 30 seconds. i tried several other converters and the same thing kept happening. What converter do YOU guys use? I need it to convert the ENTIRE video not half. Thanks :)
http://www.media-convert.com/
i use that for converting everything, ever. it's so cool. it can convert youtube videos to a file that works with an ipod, and it also lets you convert different sound files to make ringtones and stuff. it converts the entire video. it's a lifesaver!
When I am with my boyfriend and he does something I really like sometimes I feel like I could throw up. For instance he will kiss my neck and after a while I feel like, not nauseous but... well this will sound gross but whatever is in my stomach feels like it will come up and I have to like take a break from doing that for a minute. Is there anything I can do to stop that? It's weird and I wish it didn't happen!!
i know this sounds dumb, but maybe you're slightly uncomfortable with what's going on. that doesn't mean it's bad, or that you don't want to do it, it just means that inside you might have some weird feeling about doing that stuff. i have that same feeling about other stuff that i'm not completely comfortable with. i'm not telling you that you don't love your boyfriend or anything, don't get me wrong. i think it will get better over time if it's the uncomfortable thing, because you'll get more used to it. i'm not sure.
I have a real problem with my hair, i have to wash it EVERYDAY, even if i wash it and dry it before bed the next morning it'll look greasy and feel gross. Any tips so i dont have to wash it everyday because that means i ahve to wake up way earlier for school. THanks!!
make sure you're not using too much conditioner. that can really make a difference. for a while, try only using like half of what you normally use and see if that helps. and if it seems like that's not enough conditioner for your hair, comb your hair out in the shower. you can change your shampoo too, but for now see if it's the conditioner. also, that may be something you grow out of too- about two years ago my hair would get greasy in like less than five seconds, and now i don't have to wash it every day. so it will get better, i promise! :)
ok well i really want to lose weight but my mom never buys anything really healthy like instead of getting chipc she could get those 100 claorie pack things but she goes with the chip and it's not helping me at all to lose weight how can i get her to buy better stuff healthier stuff
my mom used to do this, and then i started going with her to the grocery store. so next time you're talking to your mom about food or whatever, be like, "can i go to the grocery store with you next time to pick out food?" or even ask her to start making healthier choices at the store. but it's always worked better for me in the past if i go with my mom. also, this is just a little tip, quaker makes this instant oatmeal that has only like 190 calories in it, and it's really filling and nutritious. i have it for breakfast when i have time (which is like never). but yeah, i only ate that and like juice for breakfast for like two weeks and lost a few pounds. i was also exercising, but eating whatever else i wanted during the day. so if you want to lose weight, it helps to get on a schedule like that :)
i no this might sound stupid but is soulja boy one person or a group and if they are a group how many people are in it?? thanks in advance -Lesha
he's one person. and i've heard the dance called "the soulja boy dance" too, which is a little confusing because the actual song is called "crank dat".
hello everyone, i heard some of my friends talking on this subject and one of them went into this big debate how gay people maybe the cause of aids, since they put their penis's in other mens buttholes and can pick up germs and diseases from there, could this be true?
I was just wondering not that i'm gay, i'm surely straight 100% guaranteed. But, if this is true then i was thinking i could use it for my R.E project.
IS THIS A POSSIBILLITY? THAT GAY PEOPLE ARE THE ONES WHO STARTED OFF THE AID'S DISEASE? (I'm not try to accuse gay people, just curious)
thanks in advance..please reply :(
no, the disease aids was originally discovered in rhesus monkeys. it has nothing to do with gays, though you can pass it on in that fashion. you can get aids from getting a blood transfusion, if they haven't tested the blood you're getting for aids. it happened in the eighties and stuff. it can be passed through sexual contact. so no, gay people didn't "start" it- it's actually a primate disease that was passed to humans. kind of like how you can get a very rare strain of virus from horses. and if you want to think of it this way... gay sex is no more susceptible than heterosexual sex, because there's still contact, regardless of same sex or not. oh, and this is just a side note because i had to do a little project on hiv/aids last year- hiv is what you can get from other people, and it destroys your immune system, and then you get aids from that. so you don't pass aids from person to person, you pass hiv from person to person and then if a person is infected with hiv they could possibly become infected with aids too. i didn't know that until last year, and i think it's kind of interesting. anyway, hope i helped :)
our high school is brand new and our yearboook needs a name..something to do w/ cougars or roar/grr. or w/e cougars say
okay, my school's mascot is a pirate and the newspaper is called the buccaneer. so if we're following that sort of naming process, you could come up with a one word name that could be a synonym for cougar, or the word roar, or something. you can look stuff like that up on dictionary.com. i don't really want to type out all the stuff on dictionary.com because i'm not sure what you're looking for exactly. are you looking for a yearbook name, or a yearly yearbook theme? either way, here's a good website that might help you: http://www.davis.k12.ut.us/staff/aainscough/ybtheme.html
you could even name it the cougar book, or something. i also found this stuff: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=cougar+yearbook
if you look at that, there are a lot of yearbooks that are simply named "cougar yearbook", which sounds just as cool too. good luck! i hope you find a good name :)
