I suggest going to Hot Topic and getting a blank book with pages in it with different sceneries and women. [[ yes it is lined]] It is very pretty.
The artist's name is Victoria Frances. The journal is referred as "Favole." You can look her up.
I use it for my poems. The pictures inside add to the stories.

Okay about 6 months ago this guy really liked me and wanted to be with me... I didn't feel the same. Since then we've become bestfriends. Like he knows everything about me. Now I think I have feelings for him. But he keeps telling me about how he might get back with his ex.. I don't think he sees me as more than a best friend now but i dont really know. And i also don't want to mess up everything with him and his ex that likes him again.

Honestly. I would take a walk to figure it all out.
If you feel that you and this guy, your best friend could manage a seriously relationship that won't wreck what you already have, then I would try to find out what he wants more.
Something that he tried once, and didn't work out [[ which in most cases don't work the second time around]] or you in which he could trust you with his soul. His best friend. His potential girlfriend. Someone that he feels safe with and can depend on.
I know this sounds cheesy but listen to "When you love someone" by Bryan Adams. It has helped me pick out things like that. Exactly what you've been going through. It helped me realize if I could handle it with a guy I trust with every inch of my life, a close friend.
And if you can picture you're self together and making it through the hard times, don't hold back. But if you have a SERIOUS doubt in your heart, don't go through with it.
Ask yourself this:
Am I better with him or without him?

Well, if you're willing to wait for a change through time this would work.
When she is crying and upset, you drive over to see her even if you are with your buddies. ONLY if it is urgent otherwise she would feel worse. Such as a mental breakdown.
If she is insecure about tests or is completely a basket case over a certain test, offer to quiz her and help her study. [[If she is worried about you judging her then let her know that if you didn't care so much, you wouldn't have offered]] and don't kid so much when you do. It will show her that you weren't committed. A joke here and there is good but otherwise it just shows you wanted to find a reason to lock lips later.
Make her something, even if it is just a collage of pictures of you guys together, she'll have something to hang up that she didn't even have to make of you two.
Give her a single flower. It doesn't even have to be a rose. let it be a surprise. At school, at home, wherever.
Hold her and just let her lay her head on your chest and lay yours on top of her head [[cuddle]]. And don't move around so much!!! That can get annoying. Especially when you keep trying to kiss her. Personal experience for me and so we never cuddled again.
Those are the things that show that you care and hey show you're not after sexual attention. Things like above and what Jack said below are the best things.

I have a "Helen of Troy" flat and it works fantastic on my hair. I strongly advise it. But you still have to give it a few minutes to heat up on turbo. But it might depend on your hair but if you are curious, mine is thick and sort of wavy but not much.
I'd say give it a shot.

If you are a true friend and you do deeply care about her, you would tell her how you feel. That you don't feel that her negativity isn't doing well for the both of you. But in a nice manner, and don't doubt yourself.
The best time to tell her is when you are casually out somewhere with nothing big going on and you say " -name- I really need to talk to you about something that is bothering me."
I know what it must be like because I myself am a negative person and even my best friend told me because she is like a sister, whom is honest. But I respected her more that she would stand up and tell me so because I didn't really notice.
Your friend may not even notice either.
If she gives you a hard time then you need to make her understand with a reason. Like WHY it makes you feel upset or HOW it affects you, especially seeing she is your best friend. Best friends are honest with each other.
And after all you've done she still doesn't understand, maybe you should go separate ways. But I think if you follow what I told you to do, she'll understand because she probably doesn't notice it.
