For English we have to write a "thesis" research paper on our hero. They have to be real and they have to be famous.
If they're not real and/or not famous, they have to be illustrated through someone who is.
I want to do Juno MacGuff from the movie Juno more than anything--not just Ellen Page.
I LOVE her wit, cynicism, the way she looks at life, and her quirky lingo.
Here's the hard part. What real, famous person can I illustrate her through?

Remember, its better to research 20 topics and find a perfect one than pick a decent one out of a hat and realize you run out of information quickly. Choose wisely. Choose someone well known that has been around a while. As fun as it may sound you are simply going to hit a dead end with a really obscure person. That is, unless the paper is only 3 pages long.

I really doubt it. As Zang said, Verizon and Apple would lose money in the deal and we all know that the world revolves around profit, not customer service. I really hope so, but i doubt it.

I heard from a few different sources that milk can cause acne/breakouts. I used to drink warm milk before bed and noticed I would wake up with a few pimples, so I stopped and the problem seemed to stop. Does anyone know if it was the milk, and if this milk myth is really true?
I have never heard of this myth, but I would assume it is just a myth. However, the other person that answered may be right about the hormones and stuff. Get some organic or soy milk if you are worried. Don't stop drinking milk. It has so much that is good for you. Acne is better than false teeth.

If he is nerdy, I think something like a skin for his laptop or iPod would be a nerdy (but cool), personal gift, that won't cost a fortune. They even make skins for game systems like PS2, Wii, Xbox, PS3 etc. I will give you some websites to try. Hope this helps. By the way, some websites even offer the option to make a custom skin. Like you could put some text on it, like an inside joke between you two or something. Do know, however, that some of the custom ones take longer to come so you should order it now if you want it by V-Day.

I am having a problem with someone at my work who Is talking behind my back, and requested to have my hours as she needs them. (I also cross trained her.) She had other options, but decided that what was available was BELOW her. I walked in on two conversations, and my supervisor told me about everything themselves as well as fellow co-workers letting me know about what she has been doing.
I have now been given two weeks and I will then be terminated so that she can have my position and hours. There resoning is because she has a child. They told me that I am and incredible worker, but that she needs the hours more than I. She has been there longer than myself, but only by a month. I'm not trying to compete with sob stories, but Things are horrible for my husband and I right now.
The other option that I was told is I could move from my administration position of over 14 years experience (she only has about 5 months experience) to a cleaning position (her former job) and a pay cut to minimum wage. (I would rather take the first option of being let go so that I can collect unemployment until I can get another job. I'm not sure if I should try and hold on, or just quit? P.S. I love my job and it's the field that I am trying to get further into.
I am not sure what state you live in, but I would be taking my happy self right on down to the labor board and find out if what they are doing is legal. In many states you cannot terminate a person without just cause, and you must have proper documentation to prove your cause. So, unless they are saying you are being "layed off" I believe I would do my homework. Because they may be the ones finding themselves jobless soon. If your company has an HR department file a complaint as well.

My boyfriend and I want to have sex, but I keep saying no and holding off because I am so worried and paranoid about getting pregnant. For the first time I agreed that he didn't have to use a condom even though I know he should. But for the times after, I'm making sure he does. Since he's not going to, I wanna go on the pills. But my Mom won't let me, because she'll freak if I ever ask. I have asked to go on this one birth control before my boyfriend and I were even dating to help cramps, not for sex. And she said no because I was too young. So, I don't know how to get them? And which ones should I get if I ever get the chance? Any more information could really help.

Many local health departments offer clinics to young women and can help you get on the pill and keep it confidential from your parents. However, since I am assuming you are still in high school, you must know that in many girls your age the pill is not 99% effective as it says. I have really uneven skin tone so foundation is a must. and if I don't set it with powder, it'll wear off in like, an hour. I can't use just mineral powder alone because it too doesn't last. I try oil blotting pads and everything.
but that is besides that point. I'm in school under freaking FLUORESCENTS.

The Dream Matte Mousse by Loreal is really nice. If you put it on them set it with powder it should stay on most of the day, and it doesn't melt off under fluorescent lighting as bad as some of the liquid make-up.
Also why don't you try going to a professional and getting their opinion. Day Spas and upscale hair salons often have professionals that actually know what they're doing. [unlike some of those people at the clinique counter who only want to sell you every product possible] You might try getting a consultation with someone like that. day spas could also do facials for you as well that may help with your uneven-ness.

1. Some people i know have complained about whenever you get a text, the screen dosen't light up. is this true? How will i know when i get a text without having to look at my phone every 5 minutes?
2. Is the vibrate very low? Can you feel it in the back pocket of your jeans?
3. Is the trackball hard to use?
4. Does the trackball change colors?
5. Is the phone hard to figure out? Is it hard to find things?

1 true. the screen only lights when you get a call.
2 the vibrate is decent. you should be able to feel it.
3 no, the trackball is easy, once you get used to it.
4 you can buy different trackballs
5 no but it is much different than a regular cell phone.
6 my advice to you is...if you dont NEED email and/or internet do not get a blackberry. a blackberry is a PDA 1st and a Phone 2nd any sales rep will [should] tell you that. So, if you want a texting phone get an LG Rumor, or some other QWERTY phone. Because the BB is not for you.

I just got a new computer and was able to successfully transfer my entire itunes account from my old computer to this one but I just bought a couple songs from itunes on my OLD computer... is there an easy way to get these songs to be on my NEW computer? I know I could transfer them via cd but it seems to me that there should be a way to update my account in order to acquire those songs on any computer that is authorized with my music.

2. Drag songs out of iTunes onto flash drive
3. Stick flash drive in new computer
4. Drag songs into iTunes

16/f...I've always had acne, always. But recently it's gotten a lot worse. I dont know what kind of lighting they use in school but jeez, it makes my breakouts look way worse than at home. my breakouts are all over my forehead and i have blackheads on my nose and some on my chin, also under my eyes. On my cheeks im starting to develop some red dots. I hate having acne it makes me feel extremely self concious so i really need to know how to get rid of it.
I've tried virtually everything out there. Toothpaste is not an option...thats gross. I've tried a lot of different brands and they all work at first but then then stop working. Help! It's pretty important to me because i need more self confidence!

Probably, at your school they have fluorescent lighting which is actually brighter than normal sunlight, so yes it can make your blemishes look worse. Just walk by a mall makup counter...they have them everywhere because they want to sell you makeup. :)
One thing that I have heard that work is the "ZENO" I have not personally tried it, but a few of my friends and their children have them and they say it works, but not on blackheads. Upon reading this question, I searched "zeno acne reviews" and came up with some very interesting responses. So, try that.
I will warn you though that the Zeno is expensive, so I dont know how much money you want to spend, but that might be an option.

One thing that I have used forever to keep my acne under control is called "Nature's Cure" I don't know if you have ever tried it, but you can buy it at Wal-Mart, Target etc for about 9-10 dollars. There is a kind for males and one for females, so make sure you get the right one. You take one pill in the AM and one the PM and in about a week...sha-zam! You are all clear. It also comes with some topical cream. (I have to use that during my Aunt Flo's visits **wink-wink**)

I dont have a problem with it, but some men do. So, be sure to check with him. If he has a problem with you talking about your period then he doesn't need to be having sex with you. So, just ask him what he wants to do.
I was baptized a christian and my father was very heavy in church! i am starting to feel as if there is no jesus, don't even go to church anymore! I have had such a hard life and is till this day continuing at 28! i have tried my hardest to provide the best life i can for myself but everytime i get a step forward and get pushed back 2 steps! everytime i ask for help and pray,pray,pray he's never there! I have done nothing wrongful in my life for him to punish me the way he has! and have suffered greatly as well as my family, it's like when are we ever gonna get a break, we do everything the right way but still suffer!!! how do i get myself to believe in him again?

***Being baptized does not make you a christian. being baptized is an outward symbol once you become a christian. Its purpose is for the church and the world to know that you have accepted Christ and are now a follower of him.
1A. Your father's faith cannot get you to heaven or help you to believe in Christ. You must do that own your own.
2. Why do you think you have had such a hard life?

So, maybe that is why you feel as though you have had a bad life. I cannot know. That knowledge can only come from examining yourself.

***My family is suffering now. My aunt has been diagnosed with liver cancer for a year, and has had part of her liver removed this week. However, we are not wallowing in sorrow. We are praising God that through HIS power she will be made whole and will not need transplant. So far she has had NO pain. Who has ever heard of pain free cancer? That is GOD!

okay, so on friday it was my friend katias birthday "party" hang out, whatever you want to call it. amanda r. and amanda b. were also there. we all went to the movies and had a great time, we did our own thing with different people there. it was all good.
when we got home, this is where it all started going downhill. amanda r. and amanda b. and katia started fighting, i just kept my mouth shut. the amandas and katia were drinking. well, im not a big drinker. they call me a pussy and if i do drink im a lightweight, who cares.
we were sleeping in a tent, why? youll see why. i didnt have any idea why. but it was in 30 degree weather and we were sitting out there for 2 hours in it, today is monday and im sick because of it. i have a terribal cold and a fever.
while we were sitting there for two hours, 3 random sketchy guys, whos age deffinitly ranged from 18-24 just walked near the tent and came in. right when they got in, they took out a ciggarette box and took out cocaine. the girls and i didnt do it, but the guys snorted it. i texted my boyfriend ryan and said "can you come pick me up? three random guys that look like they can be from 18-24 just walked into the tent and their snorting cocaine, help!" i texted that at about 12:27. he dropped everything he was doing and came and got me atabout 12:50. when he came and got me i went back down to the tent because i wanted to stay incase if katias mother came and checked on us, but when ryan got to the tent katia got in his face and said "GET THE FUCK OFF OF MY PROPERTY!" and he said "IF MY GIRLFRIEND TEXTS ME ASKING ME TO GET HER BCOS 3 RANDOM GUYS STEPPED INTO THE TENT, THEN ILL DO WHATEVER THE FUCK I WANT" he was about to punch her but i pulled him away. i saw 1 of those 3 guys look at eachother nod their heads and one of them reached into their pocket. i was like ryan, lets go to your house. leaving him unaware of what it looks like what was going to happen.
so basically, i just left. but my ''friends'' knew that ryan was there, they could of assumed that we left. i guess a little after i left katias mom came and checked on them and saw that i wasnt there. her mom saw the 3 guys. ryan and i fell asleep at his house about 1 and i woke up at 3:30 and said hey hun, i should go back. he was throwing an argument saying he doesnt want me to go there he wants me to go home, but i still had my stuff there and it was expensive clothes and parfumes and stuff like that. all my makeup. i wanted it. when we got out of his area i turned on my cell phone, i finally got service by the high school and i had 15 voicemails and 67 new text messages... they tried calling and texting my phone but i dont get service at ryans house, they left about 10 voicemails asking where i was... and to answer my phone, and that the TROOPERS were involved!!
i get back to katias house and i go to the tent assuming their in there. their not, i say oh god. i go up the deck stairs and i see the amandas katia and her parents sitting there. i was like oh helll naww, no way. i took a deep breath and knocked. they all came running to the door like yes your safe! katias mom got up called the troopers saying i came back and called my rents.
katia said to me "tell the cops you just left.. okay? thats what we told them". i was like "im not lying to the cops katia.. thats so bad" well, it is true that i just left. so i said that to save their asses and mine too. i told the troopers about the 3 guys that were there and my parents looked so happy that i just left. i didnt tell them about the cocaine though..
well, the troopers had to go to ryans house to tell his dad the situation. i agreed with that and showed them where he lives since i didnt know the exact address. i didnt go in with the troopers and my parents. but my parents met his dad finally. they got along and they liked eachother. my mom thanked ryan for getting me. but she wished that i went home and not to ryans house.
when my mother got in the car i explained that the three guys sketched me out, they were looking at me weird. my parents said thank you for leaving your not in any trouble at all, they just didnt know where you went. i said thats the point mom, they didnt have to know SHIT. i still havent told them about the cocaine.
its now 6am and im finally home safe in my own bed. i fall asleep and im starting to get calls at like 10:45 asking what happened. i explained the whole thing. my mom knocks on my door at about 1145 and she says "i was talking to ryans dad, and he told me that there was cocaine there.. is that true?" i said "yes mom, im sorry i didnt tell you" she totally understood, she said "i know sometimes throwing your friends under the bus is hard, but in this situation you have to laura."
later that night, i have my friend brittany saying katia told her that i didnt even SEE the guys. well the cops have a printed report of my texts from 11-3am. so they have proof that i said at 12:27ish that three guys came in the tent with cocaine, and to get me! so shes proved wrong there but she is telling everyone i never saw them and im making it all up. i was at brittanys house yesteday and brit called katia and katia was changing the story around SO MUCH! and ryan was there for the whole story so i have my boyfriend to back my ass up. he saw the guys, he was there when katia blew up in his face. katias saying ryan didnt even come down to the tent, when he did. WHAT THE FUCK! i dont know what to do. can you help me PLEASE?
If you are not in any trouble with your parents or the police, I would stop talking to them. They have dragged you into a big mess.

so i went to a small private school for most of my life where everybody knew everybody. when i was in 8th grade, this new guy started going there. he was a junior, and i had the biggest crush on him. he didnt have a clue of my existance haha, and i didnt really know him, i just admired from afar and thought he was really fine! and he raced motocross which is a major turn on for me. after 8th grade i transfered out of that school, he graduated the next year, yada yada. now im 18 & a senior, and i just realized that he's on my friends list (!) hes like 21, and i wanna start talking to him, send him a msg or something. but i have no idea what to say!? i dont just wanna be like hey whats up or hey im so & so. something that'll catch his interest and make him wanna reply back =], but not like hey! guess what i used to think you were so hot! and him be like uhh whos this freak? haha any ideas?
