I'm 5'4" and 163-167 pounds (i vary per time of day, lol). And im not liking that. i mean i'd rather be 5'8", and im still hoping that will somehow happen even though im 15. my parents are 5'9" and up, and my sister is 5'11" so i'll be pissed if i stay this height forever. what can i do to grow taller, naturally, btw?
anyways thats not my main question (though i'd still like that to be answered. the height thing) as of right now, i want to be 105-110 pounds. 170-110 = 60. so i have to lose around 60 pounds. how do i do that? like i go on some websites like lookbook.nu and im like how do they get so skinny! i used to not even be fat, but we just had to move to america, the land of big portions (we used to live in the uk) which made my family gain weight in general. my mom goes to the gym now and has lost like over 20 pounds. but we cant afford for me to go so im stuck at home. i also have medical reasons to lose weight, im at risk for diabetes cause its hereditary. like my grandpa had a slight version of it but beat it by switching to a healthier lifestyle. like he still has it but its not as bad as it could have been. im black and from an african family.. so like we make food really flavorful and stuff too. but i dont know how to do portions, when in the day i should eat, how to stop cravings, when to exercise, how to exercise, which stretches to do.. and all that. i play volleyball but the season starts after summer. i dont want to waste my summer slopping around. its july 20 and school starts on september 1st or like a few days after. how much weight can i lose from now to then, and what should i do? i hope this also correlates to how i can grow taller too. obviously being 5'8", it would be fine to be a few more pounds higher than in the 100s-110s cause i'd still look skinny. tall people get all the luck. im so mad cause i got my period at age 10 and i've been 5'4" since 5th grade. but it just doesnt make sense, coming from a pretty tall family, unless i just got the sucky short genes. i hate other people growing taller than me and i dont want to wear heels all the time. like i joke about it sometimes but its a big insecurity. especially w/ volleyball. like i am an Outside hitter but i worry about college since like obviously a 6 foot 3 girl would be able to block me easily, though i do fine now because i can jump high. i miss being one of the tall kids in elementary school.. like now in high school everyone is growing taller than me and its just like ughghghghe9u390r. i dont care when people are like "your able to choose from more boys" like wtf there are tall boys too! thats just a BS way to make someone feel better.
what do i want to be? tall and skinny. like i need a recipe site too or something.. i dont know when to eat or when to exercise too. or even what types of foods i should be eating everyday too. like im sure im not doing the food pyramid right. but it just seems like so much food. like lately i havent been eating much cause i just havent been hungry but sometimes i do binges. like yesterday i ate a whole box of crackers i opened w/o asking my mom and just read the calories. its almost 1,500 calories! i felt horrible and then didnt eat dinner. i havent eaten dinner lately either cause i dont want to eat cocoyams and spinach. like i'd rather have pizza or pasta. and im lazy to warm it up in the microwave. but i know its bad to like starve myself sometimes like that cause then i end up binging and like my body would absorb more of the food i eat. the main thing is exercising i guess. like crap. i need to be practicing running for vball tryouts but i only did it once this summer like by myself in my neighborhood. its so hard to go out there. i dont have an ipod which would be really helpful.

Okay so. In terms of height, there's nothing you can do to make yourself taller. Obviously you can wear heels to give the appearance that you're taller, but that's really the only thing. Since you're only fifteen you very well may grow taller, females don't stop going through puberty until nineteen or so. As for weight. Supposedly it's healthy to lose about a pund and a half a week, but I think it's fine to lose about three or so. Which means in four weeks you could lose twelve pounds. Probably not as many as you wanted to lose in time for school, but weight loss is a long process. There aren't really any shortcuts to losing weight. There are a lot of diet pills out there but a lot of them don't even work. The bes things to focus on are exercising and healthy eating. You don't have to go to a gym to lose weight because there are a lot of exercises you can do at home. First, cardio workout tapes are great if you want to be able to watch something and be instructed how to do everything. Depending on what kind you get, they can be fairly cheap. There are a lot of things you can do that are a great way to work out but will still feel fun, like going for a bike ride, playing a sports game with friends, walking a dog, swimming, or going skating. There are lots of small things you can do every day that will provide you with more exercise as well. Take the steps instead of the elevator. Ride your bike instead of riding in a car. Another thing that will really help you lose weight is strength training. Muscles help inrease your metabolism, which in turn helps you lose fat. You can do strength training at home with weights. If you type in strength exercises at home into google it will come up with a large list of sites with different strength exercises, both with weights and without. As for eating. Its best to eat three meals a day, and two snacks. A trick with food is to eat until you're satisfied, not until you're full. Eliminate extra calories from your diet by replacing soda and juice with water, and cutting desserts and junk foods and fast food down to one or two days a week. Carbohydrates like pastas and breads are okay to eat, just not every day. Snack on healthy foods like peanuts, pretzels, and low butter popcorn. Make a fruit smoothie for breakfast instead of having sugary cereal. If you work out often and eat healthy you should be able to lose weight, but it will take time for results to show and for you to lose the amount of weight you want. I'm 15/Female
I was a vegitarian a few years back for a while, but eventually I stopped. I think the reason I did so was because I had nothing to eat besides junk food. I guess you could say I'm kind of a health-nut. I try eat healthier because I don't like feeling guilty about eating all junk.
Anyways, I want to be a vegitarian again, because I really care about animals and the enviornment. The only meat I really like is cheeseburgers and some forms of chicken, but I barely even like chicken anyway.
I guess you could say I'm a picky eater. I like vegitables like corn on the cob (only on the cob) Zuchini, and green beans, and that's pretty much it. I like almost all fruits (besides banannas.)
I was wondering if anybody had anything I could make to eat on a regular weeknight, suitable for a 15 year old girl to make on her own, and not too expensive to buy? (My parents don't really approve of me being a vegitarian, they like to control what I eat because they think I'm "too skinny" even though I'm really not..) So basically, they'll rarely go out of their way to get me vegitarian food.

I was a vegetarian for four years and you're right, it is difficult to find things to eat. One food group you should get familiar with is starches/carbs. They aren't unhealthy, and as long as you eat them in moderation (one or two servings a day) you shouldn't gain weight from them. Pastas are the easiest thing to make and they don't have any meat. Spaghetti, mac and cheese, manicotti, baked ziti, and fettucine alfredo are all fairly simple dishes to make, and when paired with a vegetable are quite healthy. There are also many books that have vegetarian/vegan recipes, and some are even specifically made for teens, like The Teen's Vegetarian Cookbook. Hope this helped :)

I'm 13. My mom never keeps her promises or does what she says she will. Like I take horseback riding lessons once a week, and I really want her to go at least sometimes, but she never does. I get a ride with my friend every week. My mom said she was going to take me every other week, but when it's the day that I go, she says she's busy... but when I get home and ask her what she was doing, she says she stayed home or didn't do anything. The last time she took me, she just dropped me off and left for almost the whole time. She also never comes to any horse shows that I'm in. I know she knows that I want her to come, because last week I overheard her say to my dad "It bothers her that I don't go," but she still doesn't.
She always says that we'll go shopping or something, but then she makes an excuse and we never go. It's so annoying and I've said things to her about it, but she still does it. What should I do? (link)

I know you said you have tried talking to her before, but continue to talk to her. If you get on her enough, it might just sink in. Try to tell her why it's so important to you that she come, (like saying her support means a lot and it would show you that she cares about you and takes an interest in what you're doing), and tell her how it makes you feel when she says she will come and then doesn't. Also, maybe you could try talking to your dad about it and seeing if he could discuss it with her? She might be more likely to listen if it was coming from him, and maybe he could manage to get her to come to some shows. Hope this helped :)

One main reason eyeliner smudges and smears is from sweat and oil on your skin. (Kinda gross, I know.) Anyways, one thing that I found helps is finding a good waterproof brand of eyeliner. These kinds usually endure those things better, and last longer without smudging. Also, if you put a base makeup on your skin it will help hold the liner in place, but this only works if you do underneath or above the eyelashes. Hope this helps :)

I'm in a bit of a sticky situation. I beleive I've found my perfect match when it comes to finding a girlfriend. But here's the problem. She lives in a different state which makes matters worse. We both have a lot of the same interests, and both want to meet each other. The thing is I've only known her for a little while, but just started talking a lot recently. There are a few obstacles I will have to get through if I should choose to meet this girl. First one is that my parent will not be fond of the idea at all, I'm not sure of how her parents will feel about her meeting someone from a different area, and I don't have any money to travel to where or near a place she lives at which can make matters worse. I know that it is not a good place to meet at a person's house and in this case, I would want us both to travel 1/2 way in between places to where we live. I also know the dangers too of meeting someone over the internet. What advice would you give about being in these situations? I really want to meet her and she wants to meet me too. (link)

I am familiar with this situation to an extent, because I met my boyfriend on facebook. If you want to meet her, you are going to have to work it out with your parents because its unlikely that you will be able to travel without their consent. If you inform them of when and where you would be meeting her and give them a lot of info and explain how you feel about this girl, they are more likely to agree with it. As for the actual meeting, you're right it isn't a good idea to meet at a person's house. I got lucky when I chose to meet my boyfriend because I did meet him by myself, however we've been together ten months now. (He only lives forty five minutes away.) Meeting half way would make the traveling part easier on the both of you, so try to find a public place you could meet. A great place to meet up would be an amusement park that's in between the two of you, or some other large public place like a mall or bowling alley. If you can't find a public place that's halfway and you decide to go all the way to her house, make sure you take a friend or parent. You may not like the idea of someone tagging along, but they only have to stay long enough to make sure everything is okay. Try to do a few small jobs to save up some money, or see if there is someone who would be willing to drive you in exchange for something. For your anniversary you could make him a cd of songs that he likes or songs that make you think of him, you could cook him dinner, bake him a dessert, write him a poem, or make him a coupon book of things you will do for him. (This can be as clean or dirty as you want but some clean ideas are: back/foot massages, cleaning his car, making him dinner, treating him to a movie of his choice etc.) Those are just some ideas for homemade/personalized things, although if you aren't into that you can use one of the birthday gift ideas. As for birthday gifts, you could get him an article of clothing if you know what stores he likes and what sizes he wears. If he really likes his car you could get him something for that, like new floor mats, steering wheel covers, air fresheners, anything having to do with his car really. Since he's into games, you could buy him a specific game you know he wants, or, the sequel to a game he already has. Or, you could get him a gift card to a game store he really likes. There are also quite a few online game sites similair to netflix where you pay a certain amount of money a month and can get a lot of different video games with no late fees and such. If he's into any sports you could get him something having to do with the sports he plays, as for liking sports teams you could get him a jersey with his favorite player or a keychain, mug, or shirt with his favorite team's logo on it. So, in a month I'm going to be camping at a festival (In case you're wondering, the festival I'm attending is this;

) , and if any of you have camped at one, I have some questions;
1* What are the best foods to take with you(For four nights, four mornings) that you don't need to cook.
Anything suitable for breakfast and dinner :)
2* Foods that are easy to cook using camping gas? (If I happen to take it, I'm still debating over this) Bear in mind I live in Europe, so if you say a particular brand of something, I may not find it here. (I hope that made sense...)
3* Drinks? Do you think energy drinks are good if I'll be up until like 2-3am each night...or morning?
4* Basic supplies (besides the obvious, tent, clothes and sleeping bag)
5* Any tricks to keep beer cold without a cooler?
6* Any other tips you may have :)
-Oh, and is there a secret to keeping bugs/mosquitoes out of the tent? I still fail to keep my tent mosquito free...

Some foolproof foods to take camping are:
-things to make peanut butter sandwiches with
-any kind of chip and pretzel
-cereal
-granola bars, dried fruit, fresh fruit, trail mix
-if taking a cooler you could pack premade meat and cheese sandwiches, and that would also keep your beverages cool.
Since you aren't planning to cook anything it's difficult to make suggestions. When i go camping I take a mini camp stove to make things like grilled cheese, sausage, and mac and cheese on. The only difficulty with pastas and such is that you have to take milk and butter and such.
Energy drinks are a good idea if you're planning on being up late a lot. Make sure to take lots of water too because it will be hot.
Basic supplies: You should always take toilet paper no matter what the bathroom situation is. Bug spray and suntan lotion are definites, and always take an few more sets of clothes than you think you will need because you just never know what you might get involved in. A swimsuit is a good idea and a pair of shoes you can trash or get dirty in. A flashlight and/or lantern for seeing in the dark and finding your way around. Booksif you like to rea sine you might get bored without being able to use your cellphone or music player once the batte dies. A small fold away table and chairs are good ideas also so you have a place to sit and eat. Any piece of string you can tie up as a clothesline is a good idea too for clothing that gets wet.

There are many ways you can make your girlfriend feel special. Believe it or not, girls are very easy to please. Complement her on the outfit she's wearing. Show support for her by going to the dance recital she's in, or letting her go over her speech for class president with you. Ask her where she wants to go on a date or what movie she wants to see. Listen to her. Remember things she says because if you can recall them later it will show her you care. Call her cute nicknames. Do nice things to surprise her. Go to the store and buy just one of her favorite kind of flower, or more if you can afford it, or pick up her favorite type of candy bar. Small gestures show her that you know what she likes and that you're willing to do nice things for her because she's worth it. If you want any more ideas, let me know :)

okay so i knew my bf did a little weed, but i really didnt think he did alot right. Okay well here's some good news that might make you feel a little bit better. You can't overdose on marijuana, and you can't die from it either. It's basically the safest drug out there. Before breaking up with your boyfriend, try talking to him. If he really cares about you then he should at least be willing to listen. Tell him that you don't really feel comfortable with him smoking weed. If he doesn't want to completely stop, see if maybe you can come to an agreement where he only smokes one day a week or just on the weekends. To be honest it's unlikely that he won't remember things you two discuss while he's high, and if he isn't really pressuring you to do it or treating you poorly because of it then it shouldn't be a problem. But, if you really aren't comfortable with him smoking and it's going to bother you, and if he refuses to come to any type of agreement with you, then he is basically choosing pot over you and you should consider breaking up with him. There's only so much facial plastic surgery can do. For example you can't really change your lips but you can get them plumped. Same with forehead. You can get a forehead lift but not a new forehead. Getting everything redone would cost at least $10,000. Also, you can only do one or two things at a time and each surgery takes a few months to fully recover from. I would suggest getting a different haircut, dying your hair a different color, getting colored eye contacts, changing the way you dress so you can't be identified be your style of clothes, and then choosing to get one piece of your face changed that will make a big difference, such as a different nose. Making changes to your nose would probably be your best option because it entirely changes the way your face looks.

Most likely you are just tight from not having sex before. It's going to hurt for awhile. And fingering doest always feel good. So for the past couple of months some things have been happening to me that are starting to make me worry.
I've always had the most amazing memory, I've always been able to remember small details about everything. Like what the weather was like that day or what I was wearing, how I felt, etc.
But for the past couple of months my memory has been bad. I still remember things from a long time ago but I can't remember recent events anymore. And it's not normal for me.
I don't remember what I did over the weekend and who I talked to and what about.
I don't do drugs so that's not why my memory is slipping.
Also, I keep feeling like after I say something or do something, that I didn't really do it.
Like for an example, if I'm having a conversation and I say something, right after I feel like I really didn't say it, like I just thought I did but didn't.
I have to ask the people if I actually said or did anything.
I know I'm not explaining it all that well, but I'm trying to the best I can. It's hard to explain.
And I'm constantly questioning things that I know are for certain.
Example: Someone tells me that they want to talk about something. I start to wonder what they want to talk about. My heart starts pounding, I start to think about what they could possibly want to talk about and then start to think anything I could have done wrong.
If it's after the weekend I try to remember my weekend. If I stayed home all weekend I start to wonder "Maybe I went out." Even though I KNOW I stayed home ALL weekend. I sit there and think "Well, maybe I did go out...but I know I was home all weekend... but maybe I'm wrong?"
It's driving me crazy.

This sounds like a serious problem that you should talk to your parents and a doctor about. You may have gotten a concussion without even realizing it, or you may be showing early sypmtoms of short term memory loss. Definitely go to a doctor and get some tests done though.

Is there any way to make your period come sooner? I have a very very very irregular period so I now have birth control to regulate it, only I cant start it until the sunday after my first period and that could be up to 2 months from now..I get my period once about every two and a half months, very rarely is it a month after the last, and I hate waiting and getting it when I least expect it...So is there any way that I can make it come sooner? Sadly there's no way to make your period come sooner, but birth control pills do great at helping to regulate your period, plus you always know when you're gonna get it and don't have to guess.

Since it sounds like you want something with personal meaning, you have to think about symbols for the things that matter to you. If love is very important, get a heart; peace, a peace sign; music, a music note. You could consider getting your name or a word that has a lot of meaning for you in symbol form, such as chinese or japanese writing. Some other ideas for small tattoos are a sun, stars, a favorite flower, a planet, a favorite animal, or a special word. Hope some of these helped give you an idea :)

You could get him tickets to a concert of a band that he likes, or burn him a cd of songs you think he will like/songs that remind you of him. You could get him a new video game he's shown interest in, a shirt from a store he likes, or a gift card to a store. You could always cook him breakfast or dinner on his birthday, or take him out for lunch or dinner. You could write him a poem or story, or sing him a song that he likes. You could make him a coupon book of things you will do for him, which could be sexual or could just be simple things like cooking him a meal of his choice, washing his car, letting him choose what to do for the day, paying for a movie etc. You could treat him to a movie of his choice on his birthday. In terms of protection there's not much else you can do besides wear gloves and try to limit any housework that might damage your hands such as dishes or heavy lifting etc. Make sure to moisturize your hands a lot during the week and don't forget to take care of your nails and keep them clean and avoid breaking them

You do have to pay for photoshop and it is an extremely expensive program, it is unlikely that you will be able to find a version for less than a few hundred dollars. There are many tutorials you can find online if you actually get photoshop, however I have an alternative suggestion. There is a website called picnik.com that lets you do some editing to your pictures. It is completely free to upload pictures and edit them, however certain things you have to upgrade to be able to use. The free version of the site allows you to convert your picture from color to black and white or any other color, crop, fix red eye, it includes a blemish fixer and teeth whitener, and lets you do a lot of fun effects like adding text to your pictures.

One way to gain weight is by eating carbs. This includes breads and pastas. If you eat a lot of carbs every day you should gain weight pretty quickly, also try eating more throughout the day. If this doesn't help at all you may just not be able to gain weight due to a fast metablosim, but consider asking your doctor for some advice too
