you can get a regular box perm from the store (the kind that is supposed to make your hair curly), follow the directions but instead of doing the part where you put curlers or w/e in your hair, just leave it in and keep combing it straight through your hair, which is called a reverse-perm or something (sorry if i dont make sense)

you could also prolly get a relaxer (for afro-am. hair)..

Im 13. Im "big boned". And i weight about 127, Im a 36B, And Im 5'0ft. I'd have to loose atleast 20 pounds for my stomache to even get close to flat enough for any abs, at all.
my arms are fat, and need mad toning. But i love my thighs, and i'd my legs to be a tad more muscle. Sugeestions, tips? help.. (link)
To lose weight you need to drink a lot of water, and eat healthy stuff like lean meat (turkey, chicken, fish, lean beef, etc), veggies, fruit, brown rice..

To burn calories do cardio like running (which also helps tone stomach, legs, and butt), and sports and such..


Toning exercises for your stomach:

Bicycle
1. Lie face up on the floor and lace your fingers behind your head.
2. Bring the knees in towards the chest and lift the shoulder blades off the ground without pulling on the neck.
3. Straight the left leg out to about a 45-degree angle while simultaneously turning the upper body to the right, bringing the left elbow towards the right knee.
4. Switch sides, bringing the right elbow towards the left knee.
5. Continue alternating sides in a 'pedaling' motion for 12-16 reps

Captain's Chair
1. Stand on chair and grip handholds to stabilize your upper body.
2. Press your back against the pad and contract the abs to raise the legs and lift knees towards your chest.
3. Don't arch the back and remember to breathe smoothly.
4. Slowly lower back down and repeat for 12-16 reps.

Exercise Ball Crunch
1. Lie face-up with the ball resting under your mid/lower back.
2. Cross your arms over the chest or place them behind your head.
3. Contract your abs to lift your torso off the ball, pulling the bottom of your ribcage down toward your hips.
4. As you curl up, keep the ball stable (i.e., you shouldn't roll).
5. Lower back down, getting a stretch in the abs, and repeat for 12-16 reps

Vertical Leg Crunch
1. Lie face up on the floor and extend the legs straight up with knees crossed.
2. Contract the abs to lift the shoulder blades off the floor, as though reaching your chest towards your feet.
3. Keep the legs in a fixed position and imagine bringing your belly button towards your spine at the top of the movement.
4. Lower and repeat for 12-16 reps.

Long Arm Crunch
1. Lie on a mat and extend the arms straight out behind the head with hands clasped, keeping the arms next to the ears.
2. Contract the abs and lift the shoulder blades off the floor.
3. Lower and repeat for 12-16 reps.

Reverse Crunch
1. Lie on the floor and place hands on the floor or behind the head.
2. Bring the knees in towards the chest until they're bent to 90 degrees, with feet together or crossed.
3. Contract the abs to curl the hips off the floor, reaching the legs up towards the ceiling.
4. Lower and repeat for 12-16 reps.
5. It's a very small movement, so try to use your abs to lift your hips rather than swinging your legs and creating momentum.

Full Vertical Crunch
1. Lie on your back and extend the legs up towards the ceiling.
2. Place hands behind your head (lightly cupping it) and contract the abs to lift the shoulder blades off the floor.
3. At the same time, press the heels towards the ceiling, creating a 'u' shape with the torso.
4. Lower down and repeat for 12-16 reps.

Plank on Elbows and Toes
1. Lie face down on mat resting on the forearms, palms flat on the floor.
2. Push off the floor, raising up onto toes and resting on the elbows.
3. Keep your back flat, in a straight line from head to heels.
4. Tilt your pelvis and contract your abdominals to prevent your rear end from sticking up in the air.
5. Hold for 20 to 60 seconds, lower and repeat for 3-5 reps.

Lying Leg Raises
Firstly ensure that your legs are slightly bent throughout this exercise.
1. Lie on your back with your hands, palms down under your buttocks.
2. Raise your legs about 12 inches off the floor and hold them there.
3. Make sure the base of your spine is pressed against the floor (this will ensure that your back has the correct support).
4. Now trying to use just your lower abs, tilt your pelvis and raise your legs a further 6 inches.
5. Hold for a few seconds then return to your original position.
6. Keep going with this exercise until you can feel it in your abs



Toning exercises for your legs/butt:

1. Doorknob Squats
Targets: butt, quads, hamstrings
Set a timer to 100 seconds. Stand facing the narrow edge of an open door, with your legs hip-distance apart and a footstool directly behind you. Holding your arms straight, grip one doorknob in each hand. To a slow count of 10, lower your body until it touches the stool (but don't sit down!). Pause, then raise yourself to a standing position to another slow count of 10. Repeat until the time is up.

2. Side-Lying Leg Lifts
Targets: butt, outer thighs
Set a timer to 100 seconds. Lie on your right side, with your legs straight and your head propped up in your right hand. Bend your right leg at the knee and place your left hand on the floor in front of you for support. To a slow count of 10, lift your left leg 80 degrees off the floor. Pause and squeeze your hip and butt muscles before lowering to another slow count of 10. Repeat until the time is up, then switch sides for another 100 seconds.

3. Single-Leg Curls
Targets: hamstrings, calves
Set a timer to 100 seconds. Secure a one-pound weight on one ankle, then stand with your feet together. Keep your arms straight and lean forward, placing both hands on a footstool 12 inches in front of you. To a slow count of 10, bend your weighted leg, raising your ankle to your butt. Pause, squeeze your hamstring and lower your leg. Repeat until the time is up, then switch sides.

4. Heel Raises
Target: calves
Set a timer to 100 seconds. Stand facing a wall, with your feet parallel and hip-distance apart. Place a rolled-up towel under the balls of your feet, then lock your arms and place the palms of your hands on the wall for support. To a slow count of 10, raise your heels off the floor so you are standing on your toes on the towel. Pause and squeeze the muscles in your calves, then lower to another slow count of 10. Repeat until the time is up.

Hey! I'm going to Disney World on Friday morning because we don't have school on Friday or the following Monday. We're driving back on Monday. It's a 7-8 hour drive. Well, I found out today that we're having a huge test next Wednesday! Since I'll be in Disney World, I don't know if I'll have time to study a lot, and there is a ton of information for the test (like at least 5 pages typed). My cousin has ADHD, its attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. And ADD is the adult/teen one i guess. Yea, people who have that can be extremely hyper and annoying. Its not a big deal, but there brain doesnt work the same way as someone who doesnt have it. They usually are hyper, cant concentrate, cant sit still for a long period of time, and can really get on your nerves if you spend a lot of time with them haha..

Switch sides and repeat.

What to do: Lie on your back, arms stretched straight over your head and legs fully extended and crossed in the air. Exhale and lift your tailbone, then slowly lower as you inhale (don't just drop -- resist on the way down). Repeat 30 times.

*INVERTED CRUNCHES*
WORKS: lower back

WHAT TO DO: Lie on your stomach, arms in front of you as if flying. Exhale and lift just your right arm and left leg as high as you can. Inhale and lower. Then switch, lifting your left arm and right leg. Alternate, doing 20 lifts on each side. Finally, lift both arms and legs 20 times.

Also, working out in the morning before you eat burns more calories. And you need to run or do some cardio so that you won't just build muscle.

I think green tea helps to "clean" you out or something, i did hear that it was good for you.

Fruit, veggies, tuna, lean skinless turkey/chicken meat, WATER!!

Ok i am 15/f and i just found out i am pregnant a few days ago, and my boyfriend (the baby's father) knows. now we have talked about me possibly getting pregnant before and we were fine with it....but now i am and we are keeping the baby because we both want to. but we havent told our parents yet....but we are this weekend. but the thing is we already know hes mom is going to be abssolutely furious, and we were wondering about if he would ever be able to see the baby. because my parent will be fine with it, like they will support me and all, but his mom we dont know, so does anyone know if there is a law that says if he wants to that he has to see the baby? and this is in michigan, and i have not been able to find anything after long hours of researching on the internet...now please if you answer this dont tell me how much of a bad person i am and that i am only 15..i will have enough of that just please answer my question... Oh Im not judging you hun. I agree wit the other person who answered, you should tell them all in one room. And yea, he will have to be apart of his childs life unless he and his parents want to pay child support. What kind of parent would force her son to stay away from his baby? Everything will work out, youre pregnant and youre having a baby, so your bf's mom cant change that so let her be mad for awhile, but eventually she'll get over it if she loves her son.

I'm 16/f, I'll be getting my license in 3 months, I really need my own car, I have 1500 dollars saved in the bank from me working my butt off for a year. I work at coldstone creamery making 6bucks/hour, my parents won't help me buy a car because of their financial problems. My dad said theres no way in hell I can get a reliable, safe, dependable car for 1500, he said I need at least like, 4500, and im like, really discouraged. I just want to know from anyone who was in my situation, how much money should I save up to get a decent car, cause my dad wont let me get a crappy one. Or can I get a nice one for the amount I have? hmm... (link)
Actually, you can go to an auto auction and get a pretty good car for $1500. I got a nice 2003 Jeep for $700 at an auction. All they do is auction off cars that have been re-possessed or that used to belong to drug dealers who went to jail and stuff. You can google it to find one near you..

I have a really hard time talking to boys (except for my guy friend). Whenever guys approach me, my mind just goes...blank. Even if I don't have a crush on him. Like when I'm going to drama there's another guy going down to the chorus room right next door. This guy's named Greg* who has a girlfriend, and it's just really awkward. We're headed in the same direction, and since it's so weird for me, he think I like him when I don't. Then he blocked me on AIM and that junk. Or some guys are just trying to hang out with me, and I just go really weird. Does anyone know what I mean, and what can I do to stop this?

I used to be really shy in middle school, but I kind of got over it when I got to HS. I think what helped me is that over the summer between 8th and 9th grade, I went through a complete change, appearance-wise. Maybe that's not your problem, but I always feel way more confident when I feel like I look good. Just walk on by that Gary kid, act like you don't even notice him there. Walk with your head up high and try to believe that youre hot and any guy would be lucky to have you! =)

Ok...today has been pretty much the worst day ever...I cmae hoem from scholl and all of a sudden my dad sais we're moving to NC in August! I can't believe it! I had a really rough year last year..and my friends have truly become my heart..if it werent for them I honestly woudl nto be the person i am now...they have always been there for me...and I just cant imagine not having them in my everyday life. Not to mention...Im afaraid that my school in NC will be segregated and recist..I'm white and i can not stand racism...i like all typ3s of guys..and thinking about being shunned if I like a black guy really pisses me off! Wow, on the racism tip, I feel you. My boyfriend is half-black, and I cant imagine being forced to only associate and date white people.

Although there's no such thing as schools being legally segregated, of course there will be schools w/ mostly white people and some w/ mostly minorities. The best choice would be a school that is equally white and minorities, but if thats not an option then if i were you, I'd go to the "white" school. Only because you're white, and would most definately be "shunned" FOR that if you went to the other school. Sorry if i dont make sense..

Just try to make friends at your new school and w/ your new neighbors. Spend a lot of time w/ your friends while you can. Maybe you can go back during winter and spring vacay, or your friends can come to you?..

There's this stuff sold at drug and department stores, its Phisoderm Clear Confidence Masque. Its supposed to clear up acne scars and marks, and it's about $4.99. Tanning also helps to sort of camouflage them.

I like my friend, she and I are best friends. She knows that I like her. Sometimes I feel so weird around her, I don't want to be. awww.. im sorry, i know thats tough. it would be a lot easier if you started talking to another girl. if your attention is focused on a new girl then slowly but surely your best friend will feel like your best friend again. if there isnt anybody else that you can see yourself wit then try going out with your friends at games, the mall, bowling alley, etc. and maybe youll meet someone. try distancing yourself from your best friend and try to keep yourself busy so that shes not always on your mind.

now i half to walk to school and back and it's always cold in the morning and im tired and my mom is always i repeat always up at that time so somtimes i ask her if she'll give me a ride but she always refuses. it's so eyyoing. she always says it's not her job to take me but she dosn't even half a job. all she does is boss me and my brother around,kick me off the computer, and watch tv. and she's always telling me if i want rides i should help out but she never helps so why should i , i just ask for a little favor but she thinks it's such an unconvient requst but i wanna know what you guys think and im really sorry it's so long. You could compromise w/ her.. something like you'll do the dishes, clean, take the trash out, etc. if she takes you in the morning..

I live on my own and I'm out of groceries. Tomorrow I have to go shopping, and I never know what to buy. I always end up getting junk food or fattening stuff. Ahh.. I'm a senior in HS and I live with 2 of my friends and between bills and our bad spending habits, we always have to bum money for groceries.. haha..
well heres what we try to get...


*Lean, already cooked, sliced turkey meat. It can be from the deli or pre-packaged. It's still really healthy w/ lots of protein and its like 98% fat free. Not sure bout the price where u live but i think its a few dollars per pound or container.. (sandwiches)

*You can get lean, sliced chicken the same way ^ for about the same price..

*Whole wheat bread

*Veggies (for sandwiches, snacks, or side dishes)- ex: baby carrots, celery, tomatoes, bagged salad mix, lettuce, etc.

*Fruit

*I don't know if u like brocolli, but i always get some brocolli.. break it up into a bowl.. add a couple spoons of water and microwave for a few minutes til its cooked and soft, and then add Low Fat Velveeta Cheese and microwave til its all melted... MMM love it!

*Lean Pockets

*Fish

*Tomato soup and Chicken noodle soup (canned) are both really low in calories..
