advice

im 15,16 in like two months

im 5'6 almost 5'7

i weight 110

i also have 34dd boobs

if that makes any differance

im contantly thinking im overweight

sometimes my friends will make stupid jokes kinda hinting at it

but i dont know whats normal for a girl my age and height and everything

soo yeahh what is?

am i normal/overweight?

You're underweight. Google female weight tables.

Normal for your height and age is anywhere around 135 pounds.

If your friends think you're overweight, they're dumb. Don't listen to them.

Your healthy weight is the weight at which you feel best, not the weight at which people say you should be.

Hey. My friend, Hali, her sister died today. Car crash. I texted Hali and told her that I'm here for her. But I really don't know what to say. Hali and me were becoming REALLY close friends, and shes really shy. So I'm scared to talk to her, what to say, how to act. Hali lost her cousin over the summer last year, and her family took it hard, really hard. And now this. I'm scared that I'm going to lose my friend, that she'll push people away. I don;t know how it feels to lose a sister, I don;t. So I need help on what to do, what to say. I was thinking of staying with Hali all day at the funeral home whenever that would be. But I don't know. Hali doesn't have any close friends, I think I;m her closes. Please help me =[

You don't have to say anything- if you're there for her and she really knows it that is enough. She's going through a tough time, and everyone deals with grief differently. Personally, it helps me to be alone but for others it is completely the opposite. So be there for her, at the funeral and everything, but don't try to bring things up or specifically talk to her about it. Most likely, she needs her space but she'll come to you when she's ready. I have a feeling she knows that she's very fortunate to have a caring friend like you.

What age do you have to be in order to travel on a plane without a parent or guardian?

Here is some general info:
http://www.nwa.com/services/onboard/minor/

Of course, it depends on the airline, but if you are like 14 or over you can travel alone, and generally anything younger than that you have to be listed as an unaccompanied minor with the airline (which is not a problem).

In the winter time I get really depressed. The winter is just so dreary and cold, and dark. However, in summer when its warm and bright outside, i feel really happy and energetic again. I think there's a condition for this, but i'm not sure what it's called. i live in new york, so if you live here too, you know how the weather is in the winter. do you know what i could do to stop feeling so depressed in the winter? i heard something about light exposure therapy, maybe you can explain that. thanks

That sounds like Seasonal Affective Disorder.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seasonal_affective_disorder

From that site:
"There are many different treatments for classic (winter-based) seasonal affective disorder, including light therapies, medication, ionized-air reception, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and carefully timed supplementation of the hormone melatonin."

Also, this might help some as far as the light thing is concerned, but there are alarm clocks that simulate dawn. It's mainly for people who can't get up in the morning, but it seems like it might also simulate summer.

I'm sitting at this table for prom and theres this one girl that hates me. she wanted me out of the table but i talked to the other people at the table and they said that i should stay.. so im gonna. but if that girl were to say something to me what should i say back?

The best thing to do is to ignore the crap out of her. That way, she gets annoyed because you won't talk to her, and you don't have to deal with her at your prom. You're there to have fun, not to deal with drama.

so im pretty in shape, but i have some extra fat here and there (especially my inner thighs, love handles, and stomach) if I rode my bike about 6 km (3 there and 3 back) every about 3 or 4 days, would that make my leaner and skinnier? or would it just replace the fat with muscle and leave me looking "bulky"
Thanks:)

It would most likely burn fat and create a little muscle too. It won't leave you looking bulky, but it would be better if you could bike a few days a week and jog a few days a week. That would make your muscles leaner. Besides, running is an exercise that burns fat all over, and biking concentrates more on your legs. Any type of exercise sure won't do you any harm, so go for it!

why do colleges waitlist people instead of just outright reject them? i know they accept more than apps they should just in case theres enough room and ppl decide to go to another school.. but like :( so is waitlist most likely a no?

It depends on the college. There's no way to tell if you're going to get in or not if you're on the waitlist- but if you applied to a school that many people would consider a backup school, you have a higher chance of getting in from the waitlist than say, an Ivy League. Make sure that you have a Plan B for college, just in case the waitlist doesn't work out now. I hope you get in!

Ok so my boyfriend and i are really ready to have sex, but don't want to do it unless we're protected or whatever. Is there and age limit on how young you can be to buy condoms?

No, there's no age limit. The government would rather people be safe, no matter what age.

hi there,

I am currently doing a survey for my college and would like to ask this question on advicenators

Would you as a girl, confess to guy about your feelings first? or would you prefer for the guy to do it?

and why would you prefer the guy or yourself to say it first?

this is in context of assuming that you both are great friends, mutual friends or strangers,,you can reply based on any situation.thanks again!

Generally, I would prefer the guy to do it first. I would be apprehensive about telling him my feelings first because I wouldn't know if he would return them. And, if the guy tells me first, I'll then open up and tell him how I feel about him.

However, if we were talking about my best, best, best guy friend, I might be the one to share my feelings first just because I'm so comfortable with him.

heres what he said:
My idea for my flier/poster is a myspace train.

And you hvae the look I like
the whole, not mainstream but still good looking thing
so I would like your permission if you I could put you on my flier thing?

what does it mean

i know what he wants
but when he says "the whole, not mainstream but still good looking thing"

He means that you're attractive, but not in the same way as the girls who are fake looking and have fake boobs and stuff. It's a pretty high compliment, I think, about your natural beauty.

my hair has been suppeeerrrr staticky lately! i know its not dry air, because im like right by the ocean. i use anti-frizz spray, but it doesnt help and just makes my hair look greasy. Could it maybe be because i havnt been using conditioner lately?? this staticky-ness only started like last week, but any way to help it go away??
Thanks:)

It sounds like it definitely has something to do with the fact that you're not using conditioner. Conditioner moisturizes your hair, so if your hair is drier than usual (and if you wash it every day, which dries it out too) then it is more likely to get all staticky. This sounds weird, but it works: rub a dryer sheet on your hair if it's all crazy. A lot of girls at my school carry around a dryer sheet all the time specifically for that reason.

How do you make your boobs bigger without taking pills or boob jobs?

Pray that your genes don't suck. Really, there's nothing "natural" that you can do about it besides stuff your bra.

I have these suede shoes. I have noticed that if they get wet with like snow or rain they dry and are ok, but like if something gooey falls on them they get messed up. They are starting to get dingy and I would like to clean them cause I just bought them. Is there a way to clean them without having to take them to the dry cleaner? Like can I wash them by hand or will they get ruined? Can you tell me the steps to washing them, toothbrush, cloth, soap, only water, what temperature... all that. Thank you so much! Peace

I have some suede shoes, too. Here are some good tips:

im a 15 year old guy.

i recently came home drunk and my mom called the ambulence (wasn't even really needed). After talking to my mom about my grades and me not going out for awhile (so i already felt like shit), I go check the mail and I got a bill for $730 from the hospital (she thought it would be like $150 max). I havent told my mom about it yet and i dont know how im going to. I dont know how im going to pay that bill, my mom sure as hell doesnt have the money and i dont either. I feel like im really fucking up my life, i just keep getting deeper and deeper in this shit and i want out. I keep getting caught ditching school (which im not going to do anymore). I used to really be a good kid but in the past 6 months all that has changed. Every time i mess up i think it cant get any worse and then it does. I know if i keep going down this path my life will be trash, and i dont want that I want a fresh start but I know I won't get one, so i really dont know what im going to do.

Your insurance most likely won't cover ambulance fees, especially since you were just drunk and didn't have any arms chopped off or anything.

My best advice to you is to absorb yourself in something. It doesn't matter if it's school or a job or just something. You need to stay occupied so that you're not bored and thinking about all this crap. If you're busy all the time, you're less likely to get into trouble or situations that suck.

Also, the people that you hang out with are a big influence. Do you hang out with people that drink, smoke, ditch school, etc? That could be a reason why all this is happening to you. If you think your friends are part of the problem, try not to let them influence you anymore. And if that means finding new friends, then so be it.

It's a good sign that you want to turn things around for the better. Now all you have to do is follow through with it. In order to really make a long-term difference, you're going to have to make sure you don't skip any more school under any circumstances. And don't get caught drinking again. If you get busted by the police for underage drinking, you're just making it harder on yourself.

Sometimes when people are trying to get rid of bad habits, they start doing something totally different and become absorbed in it. And it helps them because they're so occupied with whatever new thing it is they're doing that they quit the habit. That's why I think you need to find something like a job or a club or something to help you through this. I've always thought that if someone really has a true passion for something, then they can't go wrong. For me, making music is my passion. You need to find something to be passionate about.

And sure, your mom's going to be pissed, but you just have to grit your teeth and bear it before you can change anything about yourself.

I think you can do it.

can a suddenly increase in stress cause acne?

Yes. Being stressed out suddenly affects your hormones, which can cause you to have acne.

I have a laptop with the standard touchpad mouse. I bought a wireless laser mouse with a USB that I can plus into my computer.

For some reason, the wheel on the mouse scrolls down web pages VERY SLOWLY. Like to the point that it's useless. I've searched through control panel, but I can't figure out if there's a way to make it scroll faster.

Anyone know how to fix that?

Here's how I found the scroll options on my laptop:

Control Panel > Mouse > Wheel
and then you can adjust the number of lines you want it to scroll at a time.

I have Windows XP.

Sooo im going into my freshman year and i was wondering if there is a prom for every year or if its just seniors, and if theres like a homecoming every year.

im really confused can someone explain this to me?!?
:]] thankss.

It depends on your school. At my school, there is only a senior prom, and there is no homecoming dance. We have a homecoming queen and that's about it.

It's best to ask someone at your school. Generally, homecoming is every year. We just don't celebrate it at my school because our football team sucks. And most likely, you will not have to think about prom until you are a junior. Some schools have a junior prom as well, but most just have the senior prom.

what if youu went in the back were clearance was, took off alll the hollister tags from a flip flop, and put the flip flop in your pursee?

That's stealing, and it's illegal. If a store like Hollister caught you stealing, they would most definitely give you hell for it- we're talking about your record with the law. If you want the shoes, just buy them. They're not worth stealing.
