You don't have to shave anything. There is no reason to, unless you, or your partner, likes the look of it. I recommend just keeping the hedges trimmed, not letting them get too long and keeping your bikini line trimmed. Believe me, any boy who's seeing vagina for the first time will be too excited to care whether or not you're perfectly groomed. Once you are in a steady relationship, preferences as to how your hair is done can be discussed. It belongs there, sister, don't be ashamed of it!

You need the morning after pill, which is really just a very strong dose of the same pills you take for birth control.

It's perfectly healthy, as is any form of masturbation. Don't let anyone make you feel like experimenting with yourself is in any way unnatural or disgusting. It's the best (and most responsible) way to sexually experiment.

OK, here comes my best attempt at explaining this, lol.

When masturbating, there are generally two parts of your vagina that you want to stimulate. The clitoris and the G-Spot. The clitoris is located outside of you actual vagina, and forward an inch, give or take. If you feel around there, you're sure to find it. The G-Spot is inside your vagina, about a fingers length or so in, on the wall towards your belly button. The G-spot is actually the backside of the bundle of nerves that makes up your clitoris. I recommend, for experimenting, using a detachable showerhead in the shower to stimulate your clitoris. It also helps your sensitivity if you are not dry, so use a lubricant, like vaseline. Well, I had no pain my first time, but it all depends. Your hymen is what tears and hurts during your first intercourse. Physically active girls who run, ride bikes, etc. tend to have a very diminished hymen by the time they're ready for sex. The best way to know is to get a mirror and examine yourself. Do you see any kind of tissue blocking your vagina? Can you insert tampons or your fingers without pain or discomfort? These things will indicate to you what to expect during your first sexual encounter.

Q: Hi, OKay I skipped my period for 3 months and then started again. But I am really heavy compared to my normal. Is that normal?

Yes, it is normal. When you don't have your period for so long, you actually build up all that endometrium so that when it finally goes, there will be quite a bit more of it than usual. If you are young, this is just part of developing and nothing to worry about.

Q: I'm going to be having sex soon with my boyfriend. I've tried to talk to my mom about it but she thinks I'm too young and I should wait until I'm absolutely ready. You're very lucky to have a mother you can talk to. If you are seriously ready for sex, I recommend using a spermicidal condom the first time and then tell her about it. Once you have made the decision and become active IN A RESPONSIBLE MANNER she will concede most likely and help yu get birth control. You really should use condoms, anyway, birth control or not, to protect from the spread of STDs.

Q: Okay, I'm gonna obviously make my own decision about this, but I'm curious as to what y'all think. I'm 16/f, if you wanna know.

You need to do what's comfortable for you. If you don't want to kiss him afterwards, tell him so. When trying anything new, it's always good to set boundaries beforehand to avoid any feelings of anger or resentment later on. I say give it a go, if you feel ready.

It would help to know your gender. I assume you're a girl, as men tend to be able to just look at the undies section of the Sears Catalog and rub their little friend, or play in the shower. If you are a girl, the detachable showerhead is your best bet. Any kind of vibrator makes too much noise to hide from mom and dad. The showerhead provides a perfect cover for your activities. :) Just lay down in the tub, relax, and experiment. Another nice thing about the tub is that you won't be worried about making a mess anywhere.

Q: HELP!! A few summers ago I grew a few inches and gained a significant amount of weight, and now I have so many stretch marks, and they're making me SO Self concious!! My boyfriend of 6 months always wants to run his hands up my shirt to tickle me, and I always make him stop and blame it on tickeling.. but it's really I just don't want him to see my stretch marks!! I know it won't make you feel much better to say this, but almost everybody gets stretch marks! I had them show up when I was about 14 on my breasts and about 16 on my tummy, just like yours I think. I recommend rubbing them daily, after your shower, with cocoa butter, Palmers or Suave brand are best. This will help them fade. But the time I was 18, they were just silver lines you could barely see. Also, drink plenty of water. This may help prevent future marks from being as severe.

Okay, this question is kind of personal but i need to know if anyone else experiences this. I'm a 16/f and I have a boyfriend whom i've been with for going on 6 months now, and everytime we're together, no matter what we're doing, if it's sitting at the dinner table talking, or making out under the covers (most of the time it's more intense under the covers) I get really wet.. Seriously? I would recommend practicing on a popsickle or something first to get used to the sensation. If you aren't used to it, you may gag. It doesn't do anything for the woman, on a sexual sensation level, but it can make you feel powerful to look up and watch the expression on his face, lol. You need to discuss with him first hand, as well, whether or not you are open to having him orgasm in your mouth. It isn't the most wonderful taste, but it isn't nasty either. It gives me heartburn! Make sure you clearly set your boundaries before you do this. Tell him whether or not he can orgasm, push down on your head, etc. And most of all, relax and enjoy experimenting! Q: My boyfriend and I just had sex for the first time..He took my virginity. It was unprotected and Im not sure if he pulled out or not. We were both a little drunk. I dont regret it. The 15 day "thing" is true in theory. Most women ovulate (release an egg) 14 days after their last period BEGAN and it dies in 12 hours. This is, however, not a means of birth control AT ALL. Not all women go 14 days. Actually, most DON'T, 14 days is just the average. Some women ovulate anywhere from 7-21 days after their period. You need to use birth control, and I really recommend condoms, as they prevent the spread of STD's. My husband and I used condoms for 6 years of dating with no accidents. We got married, tossed out the condoms, and it only took me ONE MONTH to get pregnant. Moral of the story: Condoms, when worn correctly, are excellent! Do not use the timing method, please, unless you want an accident! You need to tell the clinic about your activity. It may still be too early to determine whether or not you are pregnant, but if you are, you should not be on the pill, unless you plan to abort. The pill can cause serious harm to an unborn fetus.

Q: I had sex with the same guy as my best friend's sister has. I just didn't know until after I had that she had already been with him. Well.. I talked to the girl he was with a few days later.. and she told me he had an STD. She said he had Herpes in his mouth. She said she was makin out with him.. and he had a sore on his lip and he said it was herpes and not to tell anyone.
She went to a clinic to get checked today. Can u still get herpes from someone if neither of u have open sores in your mouths? And should i get checked? or find out if she has it and then get checked.. I dont want to have to tell my mom i had sex with him, but im still scared i might have it.

Also, my BFF had sex with him the night after i did (eww) and she got checked too.. should I wait see if either of them have it.. or just go ahead and tell my mom and get an appointment at a clinic?

Open sores on your mouth are not the dreaded STD herpes. Open sores on your genitals are. Open sores on your mouth, while a type of herpes, are just cold sores. It is estimated that 85% of the population carries the disease that causes cold sores, but most of them only have outbreaks when under stress or ill. You can only catch these diseases when open sores are present.

Your period is the first day of your cycle. Typically, you ovulate (release an egg) 14 days after your cycle started, or 2 weeks after your period started. At this time, conception occurs, but it still takes about 5-12 days for the fertilized egg to make the journey to your uterus and implant. Only THEN does your body even begin to know that it's pregnant. The earliest pregnancy tests, such as EPT or First Response Early Detection, can detect your pregnancy as soon as 3-4 days before your missed period is due, which is a few days after implantation. These, however, claim that they are 99% accurate, but they are not. The footnote says "99% accurate in detecting NORMAL pregnancy hormone levels." This means that while the test CAN detect pregnancy, a negative is not definite. The most accurate time to get a test is at least 2 weeks after you've missed a period. If there is still no hint of a line at this time, you're probably not pregnant. Every woman builds her HcG (human chorionic gonadatropine) pregnancy levels at a different rate.

In summary, don't test until you miss your period. These tests are expensive and not reliable enough that soon!

Pushing down on your head meant that he wanted you to take him deeper. I would talk to him about this, though. Pushing on your head without warning can harm you, choke you, and in the least make you uncomfortable. It is a warning sign of a possibly abusive partner and I would make sure you are very clear about your limitations. If he wants you to go deeper, he needs to ask, not manhandle you! DO NOT tolerate sexual forcefulness in any manner; it only sets the groundwork for future injury.

I wouldn't worry about this at all! In order for a girl to get pregnant, the semen need to get into her vagina during a time when she is ovulating or about to ovulate. If the correct vaginal mucus isn't present, the sperm die very quickly. Even with regular, deep penetrating sex at the right time of the month, the partner pours out millions of sperm and only a thousand or so ever get beyond the cervix! Precum can contain a small amount, but the chances of even one happening in far enough are almost zilch! I would stop worrying about it. In the future, be more careful. If you're going to dry hump like this, seriously, make him wear a condom if it will make you both feel better. Besides, you never know when something like that may progress to the next step and it's always best to be prepared. Make sure you put the condom on correctly! If it breaks, you have a much better chance at getting pregnant than some silly "dry humping" accident.

Q: OK...i noticed this horrible odor and after awhile i discovered it was coming from my vagina! Ughh its disgusting. I know "they say" it smells down there if you eat certain foods like meat...i had a turkey sandwhich for dinner..could that be it? or could i have some kind of infection? Yeast infections do not normally smell, they burn and itch first. You probably have vaginitis, which is just a chemical imbalance, or you need to wash a bit better. You can also get strange odors as a result of puberty and hormonal changes. I recommend a doctor.

Q: Ever since I was a small child, I have always wanted to be a pilot. However, my vision is terrible and 20/20 vision is a strict requirement of US Air Force aviators. There is the possibility of Lasic surgery, but that is expensive and sometiems unreliable, and it has risks and side effects involved. And it can sometimes be a disqualifier from the flight program of the USAF.

Now, when I was a Senior in High School, I was originally going to sign up for the US Army Warrant Officer program. My counselor managed to persuade me not to. I applied to and got accepted to Saint Joseph's University because of their Air Force ROTC program. Then came something I was not prepared for. As always, there is a lady involved. I found, or actually, a lady found me. We have been dating for the past 4 months and I know I sound like some puppy-eyed immature teenager when say this but I love this woman, and I plan on marrying her when we get out of college. It sounds stupid, but I know what I feel and I know she feels the same way. Now here is my problem. Do I join Air Force ROTC and waste 4 years of my life as an Air Force Officer only to be rejected for my vision to the pilot program when I could be living a nice steady life with my lady? Or is there a small chance that I could possibly get accepted to the pilot program and fulfill my dream? Is that small chance worth it? It pains us both to go to separate colleges, and my lady fears having to wait for me to return from year long tours of duty. And she fears the current war going on as well. What do I do?

I have grown up next to a marine base my entire life and, as far as I can see, there is no reason why you can't have both things. All branches of the military accept married men, as long as you meet their requirements. Having a child will definetely make them hesitate, but not being married or otherwise attached. If your girl loves you, too, then why can't she relocate to wherever you will be stationed, married or not? My husband has long considered the air force and has met with a recruiter himself. They have no problem with his being married.

On the topic of Laser Eye Surgery, I successfully underwent the surgery a little over a year ago. It only cost me a total of 1500, 750 per eye, and the company arranged a payment plan with me. I took my eye drops religiously and followed all of their instructions to the letter, and guess what? My vision is now 20/10. Better than 20/20. They say that's the top % of results, but as a nurse, I feel it's because I followed the directions well. I really highly recommend this surgery. It has made my life much easier, and I have had NO side affects whatsoever.
