I'm a fifteen year old female, and I will be turning sixteen pretty soon. To my extreme amazement, my parents have decided to buy me a car to share with my younger brother when he comes of driving age.

I'm very appreciative of this, because I was expecting to drive my Dad's old 1982 Chevy for the next few years. The problem is, I'm finding it hard to find a small car with good gas mileage at a reasonable price.

I'm particularly fond of the Mazda cars. If you have any suggestions for cars meeting these three requirements:

- Costs less than $15,000
- City gas mileage of 26 MPG or greater
- Well-made car

Feel free to suggest anything to me. Like I said, I prefer the Mazda, but anything fitting those three things would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you! (link)
It may be worth considering the domestic version of the car you like (like a Dodge Neon or Stratus, Chevy Malibu, etc). The repair costs on domestic cars is typically lower as are insurance costs. If not, I have many friends who have driven Toyota Corollas for years and years. Best wishes.

my cat is getting really sick i took my cat to the vet and everything what should i do to stop her from suffering please help...
i will rate high just somebody help... (link)
Well, there are many factors here. What did the vet say? Was his or her recommendation to take medicine, have surgery or to help the cat stop suffering? I think you should take the recommendation seriously. It is always hard to see our loved pets suffer, especially when we want them around forever.

You could always go to another vet and ask for a second opinion, but I think you should consider what has been said.

I am sorry I am not able to give more help, but there's not much information to go on.

Best wishes

What is the difference between them? I have decided to put my faith into one of them cause i know they both involve Jesus and the Bible but how are they different?do you go to hell for being one over the other? do they worship the same god? and where can i get a bible? also is it true that luthern is based off the bible. I have ruled out Catholic. Also is mastrubating a sin? I will rate 5's for decent help.

---former athiast (link)
I am studying to be a Lutheran pastor.

Lutheranism is a denomination (group) within the Christian faith. Christianity began with Jesus and spread with the stories of the people who believed and followed him as the Savior. The original church was Catholic (after everybody got together), but eventually some people split off and in 1517, one of those people was Martin Luther. Luther believed that we need to focus on the Bible for what is true and that all things are God's gifts to us. We do not have to worry about earning salvation (trying to get to heaven) because God has already saved us through Jesus. God's hope is that we will love our neighbors and try to make thw world a better place. Lutherans, like other Christians, worship Christ.

Lutherans believe all people are messengers for God (priesthood of all believers), in Holy Communion and Baptism, and do NOT pray to Mary.

You can find a Bible at any bookstore or if you ask around, someone may have free Bibles. Look for a New International Version (NIV) or Message...these are easier to read.

Masturbation is not a sin. Just don't let it be the focus of your life.

Please let me know if you have other questions.

Best wishes

can women die from having sex in water? (link)
No. If you keep your head above water (to prevent drowning), you should be fine. Many women enjoy water (hot tub, etc). You may need extra lubrication and a water-based lubricant will wash right off (so you don't want that). Try a silicone-based one for water activities. Best wishes.

At restaurants - what is the accepted etiquette/percentage for tipping someone who you have an outside friendship with? (link)
I wouldn't give anything special (extra), but I would tip the general 15-20% of the bill. It is important to remember that in the US, waiters and waitresses do not make minimum wage. They are paid a portion of minimum wage and are expected to make up the difference in tips. Your friend, like other waitpersons, may also have to divide tips between buspeople (the people who clean the table), dishwashers, the host/hostess or line cooks. Service is sometimes bad in restaurants (though they depend on tips) because management pushes waiters/waitresses to speed up table turnover so the restaurant makes more money. Only in really posh restaurants are waitperson paid a semi-living wage, but they count on tips as well.

but my friend is a chrisitan. He wants me to go to church with him every week, and im not all that enthusiastic. I feel guilty for even thinking about saying no because i get all self concious when i think of him thinking of me as a sinner. Anyways we were having a very good time at a footbal game and then we were talking about stuff and somehow the topic just came up about dying. He was like, no offense but if you died right now i think you'd go to hell. He was being really serious. Well, it depressed the hell out of me. Im a nice person, i dont try to judge people, i like to share, my morals are higher then anyone elses and then i get depressed because i cant live up to them. I was really hurt but i didnt let on. He wouldnt elaborate, he said we could talk about it on the phone sometime. Well, do you think it was right of him to say that? Or am i just being dumb? I cant help but feel like im some kind of 'project' hes trying to save... (link)
Your friend is not a friend at all. You need to be honest and tell him that he's pushing is making you uncomfortable because you don't necessarily think the way he does. And that's okay. Any friend who will tell you that you are doomed is not the kind of friend you need. It might be hard to be upfront with him, especially if he wants to stop being your friend. However, you need people with whom you feel comfortable and who are not trying to make you a convert constantly. Remember the best kind of person is the person who does good because it is the right thing to do, not because there is a reward at the end. Best wishes.

i use acnefree and when i put on the toner, i use a cotton ball and the toner goes right through the cotton ball so when i try to put it on my face it basically dried out ..if you know what i mean.. what can i do to prevent this? is it the type of cotton balls im useing because i used to try proactiv and it worked just fine for me? (link)
I would suggest trying something different- like a cotton pad or a reusable cloth (thin) or even a tissue. A new product may have a different consistency and this would affect how it stays on the cottonball. Best wishes.

how is it possible to have your period while pregnant? is it even possible at all? (link)
It wouldn't be your period, per say, because your period is the result of your uterus shedding the lining after a released egg remains unfertilized. However, if you are having something that looks like your period (brownish), it is simply spotting. This occurs when blood vessals break in the uterus due to the pressure of the growing fetus/baby. If there is a lot or it is bright red, you should see your doctor. This could be related to any number of medical conditions connected with pregnancy. Mention any spotting to your doctor during your next check-up. Best wishes.

i have a gay friend that tried to ask me out and kiss me and omg i didnt know wat to do !!!!!!!!
what should i do heeeeeelp (link)
Your friend may be trying to decide if he or she is truly gay. He or she may feel uncomfortable with his or her identity and wondering what to do. I am not sure, due to the unclear nature of your question, if your friend is the same sex as you or not. Either way, if you are not interested, simply tell them that you enjoy their friendship and that's what you need from them most at this time. If you think you might be interested, tell them you need to take it slowly and see where things go. Let me know if you need more advice or how things go. Best wishes.

Okay .. Theres this guy and i really like him but i dont know if he likes me a couple of months ago we made out and hooked up like a month later it happend again.. he was a major player but for some reason i think he actually likes me now hes got a girlfriend and she is sorta my friend he purposely kisses her in front of me and touches her and all that stuff. I dont know if he likes her or not but hes been going out with her for like 4 weeks and he hasnt cheated on her yet and thats not usual with him. i dont know if he like me or not what should i do? (link)
This guy really does sound like a player. The fact that he is overly affectionate with his girlfriend in front of you seems to me that he might be trying to make you jealous, because he might like some action with you as well. This does not mean that he likes you, but that he likes to see what he can get and what he can get away with. I say stay away. If he cheats on one girl, that means he could cheat on you. And you would be much better off being better friends with this girl (he's dating) and have one more good friend, than a broken heart from a player boyfriend. Best wishes.

there is this guy and he says he dosent like me but he acts like it. he does stuff with me plays footsie under tsble and everthing hugs lots of them piggy back rides and he still says he dosent like me but i dont know wat do i do about this guy to i go along or idk help me please (link)
It can be so frustrating when someone you like seems to be flirting with you, but says they don't like you. He might enjoy being your friend and teasing you. Or he could be teasing you because he doesn't know how to tell you how he really feels. It's hard to know what to do. I would suggest either playing along (if you like him) or asking him to stop teasing you. It's hard to tell with guys, so a wait-and-see policy may be your best bet. best wishes.

ok, my fiance is 22 and he went to a therapist hte other day. he has a lot of mental problems (he was raped as a young boy) and thigns that other girls have done to him, he is scared will happen again. well the therapist diagnosed him with Bypolar type 2, parnoia, and depression. i don't know how to handle them or to help him out with them. i understand the depresseion, because i myself have lived with depression for a long time. so if anyone can tell me any ways i can help him out or things i can do to take care of him. becuase i love him alot and i want to help out. also could you describe these 3 things to me so that i can get a better grasp on them? thank you! (link)
Well, the good news is that your fiance has received a diagnosis and he is seeing a therapist. The three diagnoses Bipolar type 2, paranoia, and depression are serious diagnoses, which I am sure you know. All three are difficult describe, so I will refer you to www.wikipedia.com. Enter the terms one at a time into the search box on the left and some information will come up. It is relatively easy to read as far as psychological information goes. What I am sure the therapist will tell your fiance is it will take some time to work through his experiences and the feelings he is having. He may always have a painful/upsetting reaction to certain memories or things that bring up those memories. You should know that when he is working through these things, some issues may come up for you. Your depression may be triggered or other emotions may surface. It may help for you to see a counselor as well, if possible, to talk about your own experiences and how you are experiencing your fiance's diagnosis. A counselor may also be able to explain the diagnosis to you and help you understand any treatment your fiance undergoes. Best wishes.

I was wondering about Planned Parenthood. I know that you can go there and get condoms, birth control, morning-after-pill, etc. but I had a few questions. Can you just go in there and get condoms or do you have to like sit down and talk with a few people there with them asking you questions and saying make sure you're safe and ready, etc? Also, if you go there to get birth control, do they have to give you an exam "down there" or what all do they do? Plus, they don't tell your parents about it.. do they? I heard they were completly confidental. I'm just curious!! I rate high. (link)
In most states Planned Parenthood does keep things confidential, but in your state they may be required to tell your parents about certain exam results or if you are planning to have an abortion. You could ask before you scheduled an exam.

Most PP offices have condoms in a jar in the front and would allow you to take some. They would probably also schedule a free meeting with a doctor or nurse to answer any basic questions you have.

Most doctors do require you to have a pelvic exam before you go on birth control. This is not to determine what kind of birth control to put you on, but to see what things look like before you get started. For example, if they examined you and found nothing, but the next year they found some small white growths- they would know they had only been there for a year. So if you are about to become sexually active, it is good to have a pelvic exam to establish where you are and what things look like now.

A pelvic exam is very brief and if you tell the doctor it's your first one, he or she should be gentle. They will feel your breasts for lumps. They will press around on your abdomen, not too hard, but to be sure you don't appear to have any cysts or other growths. Then they will make you put your feet in the stirrups. Even though you want to put your knees together, it's easier if you keep them apart. They will insert a speculum (which looks like a duck bill with a handle) into your vagina. This will hold you open just a little bit, so they can swab the inside of your cervix with a long Q-tip thing. They will test this for some STDs and a couple other illnesses. And then they will ask if you have any questions and may offer you some information on birth control. Your first one will be the longest exam and then after that (you should go once a year) and they will be pretty quick. Best wishes.

ok my boyfriend was over tonight. and we were fooling around but we didnt have sex he fingered me you know all that stuff..but what i was wondering is i know he tired to use more than one finger and it wouldnt fit..is that bad?? does it matter??

i'll rate high to anyone who isnt an ass about it

thanks in advance (link)
For most women, if they haven't had sex before or haven't in a while, the vaginal muscles are tight and it can seem impossible that they would stretch. Generally, something the size of a tampon or one finger will enter without too much discomfort. In order to have something larger comfortably fit (and later feel good), one should be relaxed and gradually warm up to it. As one is more turned on, the vagina should provide more natural lubrication and the muscles should relax. If you want to try this again in the future, take it slowly and perhaps have your boyfriend put a little lubricant (NOT VASELINE) on his fingers and that should help. Best wishes.

when i type something into google one of my online journals shows ups even though its supposed to be private..it still shows some of what it says..i was wondering if theres any way of taking the link off of the google search? because i seriously do not need people reading that. thanks. (link)
Not being sure which journal you use, I will describe the one I am familiar with and hope it helps. In Livejournal, you can set your preferences to friends only. This means only people who log in and who you have listed as friends can read the journal. This would also keep it more private and keep it from being Googled (most likely). Check the settings for your own journal site and see what the privacy settings are. It may involve a little more work at the front to invite friends or let people know that some entries will not be open to them, but it will keep your secret thoughts more secret in the long run. Best wishes.

Okay so I need yalls help! My Grandma got a phone call monday night at like 10:45 and it was a prank call...(Of course they blocked their number so we cant find out who is it) so heres how the convo went (the letters represent the peoples names):

Granny: hello?
Them: Hello, is H there?
Granny: Who is calling?
Them: B
Granny: Who?
Them: B, You might want to take H to the hospital, he gave me aids last night.
Them: (Someone laughing histerically in the background)

Keep in mind "H" is my grandfather and the "B" represents me. Now i'm sorry but that isnt even a cute prank call...my grandmother lives alone most of the time so she was scared to go to bed. But anyways...we have an idea of who it is...me, my mom, and grandmother think it was my brother's friend..lets call him N. and also my brother's other friend...we'll call him J. Now the only reason with think it's N & J is because N is the only friend of my bro who knows my grandpa's name. And I'm sure J was the one who told him to use my name. Now hopefully your still with me LOL. We were trying to think of some clever ways to get them to confess...I think we should do some of these:
1) Sit them down and frankly ask if they did it
2) Ask them if they know how to block your number when you call sumone
3) Ask if they know anything about a prank phone call my grandmom recieved

I'm open to opinions on this so please feel free to come up with some ideas of your own (that was the whole point of this lol) and let me know. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I'll rate high (5) and please, NO SMART-ASSES! Thnkx a mil (link)
Ideas about caller id or call blocking might help your grandmother in the future. I doubt the people who did this will confess; however, you might be able to have a little fun back. The next time you see them, you could talk about a "local case" you heard about where two prank callers were arrested and charged with felony harassment. The charges are adult charges and will likely be fully prosecuted due to the crackdown on crank calling. Even if they don't admit to making this particular call, it might stop them from crank calling in the future. You could also tell your grandmother (and these boys), the next time a crank call is made- she will call the police to sweep the neighborhood (a slow drive through the area looking for troublemakers). Best wishes.

Ok i have a few questions:

*I am 13/f, i am around 5 ft. 4 inches and i weigh 102 pounds, I always feel like i am overweight-am I?
*Do any guys like red hair? I have naturally red hair (kind of strawberry blonde...and kind of auburn?..) and i've tried dying it, but the red always comes through. Do you think red heads are ugly? or... what do you think? also... do you think long hair or short hair is better?
*I have fair skin, and i really don't tan, if i do, its really little, and i have tried a bunch of fake tanning crap-but that's all it looks like is fake! Do you find fair skin unnatractive?
*One last question: I haven't had my first kiss yet, and I have no idea what to do, but I'm pretty sure it's gonna happen soon! What are some things you like that people do when you're kissing?

yeah i'm really making myself sound like a big nerd in this! lol

please answer these questions for me!
thanks a ton!
*i rate*
(link)
Well, you aren't even close to being overweight. I am the same height as you and I weight about 50 pounds more and I'm not really considered overweight, so you definitely are not.

Secondly, I think red hair is very attractive. Many women wish they had red/auburn hair. How can you tell this...because that color dye is very, very popular. It might darken or change as you get older, but then you might wish it was back to the way it is now.

Fair skin usually comes with reddish hair. Be glad. Take care of that skin and you will probably always look younger than your friends. This seems like a problem now, but when you have smooth healthy skin at 60- you'll be glad. (I'm also fair skinned myself, but I do lots of outdoor activities and I am in a committed relationship, so that should tell you that there are people who like fair skin.)

Lastly, take your time with the first kiss. When it happens, it happens. You might just open your mouth a little and see what your partner does. If you want to take the lead, you might gently trace their bottom lip with your tongue (with your mouths close together). It might be a little spitty and a little strange at first (first kisses almost always are), but if you are with someone you like and you can talk to- you will both get it figured out.

Best wishes.

hey you told me to email you but i dont have an email. my email is xsweetxpeax88@aim.com i think (link)
I will try to IM you. I just don't like to put email or IMs out publicly. I'm around right now for a little while. I am a 24-year-old female and I would be glad to help if I can.

I'm looking for a houseplant that produces a lot of oxygen. Does anyone know of any? (link)
I think most houseplant produce generally the same amount of oxygen, based on size. I would recommend a spider plant or a pothos as easy to grow, large and very friendly plants. Both of these are vining plants, so they will develop long tendrils that run down the side of the pot. Consequently, these are nice to have in a window or on a shelf. They are very easy to take care of and will prove to be quite hardy if you even mildly ignore them. Visit your local greenhouse or plant department of a hardware store (Home Depot, etc) for more information. Best wishes.

Crap this is bad.
OK, I spilt nail varnish remover ALL OVER my desk!!! Stupid I know, but I don't need the lecture. It's melted the base of my mouse which is working now but for how long? It may also have gone into my keyboard.
I've also got this beautiful necklace that's made of a four leaf clover inside a tiny glass clase, and it went all over that. The glass has gone all scratched and weird. Is there ANYTHING I can do to make it better?! (link)
Well, things don't look good. You should probably take your mouse and your keyboard to an office store or a computer store and have them give you a prognosis about what you should do. As for your necklace, I'm not sure what to tell you. You could try rubbing it with glass cleaner or acetone-free(!!) nail polish remover. Otherwise, take it to a jeweler or an antique dealer and they may be able to advice you on how to remove the scratches. Best wishes.
